Biden Touts ‘New Life’ after Filing for Divorce

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Ashley Biden, the former first daughter who famously wrote about how showers with her dad might have screwed her up in the head, is celebrating her freedom from her much older husband after filing for divorce last week.

On Monday, Biden, 44, split from 59-year-old Howard Krein, an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, after 13 years of marriage.

According to several sources, Biden posted a temporary story to her Instagram account that same day, set to the tune of the Beyoncé Knowles song “Freedom,” with a video that showed her walking through a park and flashing a thumbs up.

Biden also reposted a quotation that said “New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won’t look or sound like they did before.” The since-deleted post was accompanied by Lauryn Hill’s song “Freedom Time.”

The specific reasons for the split were not immediately known since divorce complaints are not public in Philadelphia.

Like many members of the extended Biden family, Krein was suspected of leveraging his father-in-law’s influence for personal gain.

StartUp Health, an incubator that he founded to provide financing for woke healthcare companies, got a face-to-face White House meeting during the Obama administration, according to Peter Schweizer’s Profiles in Corruption.

During Joe Biden’s presidency, Krein became a top adviser for the “cancer moonshot” program, which benefited from a $194 million infusion in public health and biomedical research as part of a Democrat-led 2022 appropriations bill. It is unclear what advances Krein and his colleagues made toward curing cancer.

Ashley reportedly met Krein through her deceased brother, Beau. Her other brother, Hunter, also met a future girlfriend, Hallie, through Beau. She was his widow. However, the couple’s relationship—as relayed in vivid detail on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop—proved tumultuous, with the prodigal Biden son often preferring the company of cocaine, prostitutes and even his own underage niece, Naomi.

The incestuous, pedophilic relationship may have been something of a family tradition. In her abandoned diary, which was recovered from under the mattress of a Florida halfway house where Ashley Biden had sought rehab treatment, she wrote that showers with Joe Biden during her childhood were “probably not appropriate” and had likely contributed to her oversexualized mental disorders.

Melania Trump Writes Letter to Putin

(Headline USA) First Lady Melania Trump took the unique step of crafting a letter that calls for peace in Ukraine, having her husband President Donald Trump hand-deliver it to Russian President Vladimir Putin during their Friday meeting in Alaska.

The letter did not specifically name Ukraine, which Putin’s forces invaded in 2022, but beseeched him to think of children and “an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology.” Nor did the American first lady discuss the fighting other than to say to Putin that he could “singlehandedly restore” the “melodic laughter” of children who have been caught in the conflict.

“In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone — you serve humanity itself,” she wrote on White House stationery.

A copy of the letter was first obtained by Fox News Digital and later posted on social media by supporters of the U.S. president, including Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The first lady said that Putin could help these children with the stroke of a pen.

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has resulted in Russia taking Ukrainian children out of their country so that they can be raised as Russian. The Associated Press documented the grabbing of Ukrainian children in 2022, after which the International Criminal Court said it had issued an arrest warrant for Putin for war crimes, accusing him of personal responsibility for the abductions of children from Ukraine.

(Tate Miller, The Center Square) President Donald Trump’s Department of Education is working to restore the student aid FAFSA form after the Biden administration made what should be a couple-minute long process into a days-long one.

As a part of the rehabilitation effort, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon attended a FAFSA beta-testing event iin Florida, which marks “the earliest successful test launch of the FAFSA form in history,” a U.S. Department of Education news release said.

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It must be completed by students to secure federal student aid, according to the Department of Education.

The department told The Center Square that families completed the FAFSA form at the testing event in a matter of minutes, whereas last year under the Biden administration it took up to three days to finish.

“One year ago, not a single family had completed the FAFSA form,” the Education Department told The Center Square. This year, however, “nearly a thousand Florida families … complete[d] the form,” in one night.

“The Biden Administration deprioritized fraud prevention controls to carry out its student loan bailout,” the department told The Center Square. “Today, these fraud prevention controls have been re-implemented to protect students and families’ sensitive information.”

The Department of Education’s news release said that Florida Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas and Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn joined Linda McMahon and the thousand students and families at the testing event.

The event “was the largest-ever first round of testing,” the release said. “The form will be available to the general public in the coming weeks, ahead of the congressionally mandated deadline.”

“Just two short years ago, students across the country were unable to access the form and schools could not process aid on time,” McMahon said in the release. “Today, nearly a thousand students and families were able to successfully complete the form in minutes.”

“Under President Trump’s leadership, our team has prioritized efficiency and simplicity to better serve American families – and we are delivering,” McMahon said.

“We are proud that Florida students and their families are among the first in the nation to test and shape this new, streamlined process,” Kamoutsas said.

Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn said in the release that “completing the FAFSA is one of the most critical steps our students can take toward securing their future.”

“It opens doors to scholarships, grants, and financial aid that many families may not realize are available,” Hepburn said.

“U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon and Florida Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas’s presence today underscores the national and state-level commitment to expanding college access and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed,” Hepburn said.

Another Gold Rush Could Bring Open Pit Mines to South Dakota’s Black Hills

(Headline USA) A gold rush brought settlers to South Dakota’s Black Hills roughly 150 years ago, chasing the dream of wealth.

Now, a new crop of miners driven by gold prices at more than $3,000 an ounce are seeking to return to the treasured landscape, promising an economic boost while raising fears of how modern gold extraction could forever change the region.

“These impacts can be long term and make it so that tourism and outdoor recreation is negatively impacted,” said Lilias Jarding, executive director of the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance. “Our enjoyment of the Black Hills as a peaceful place, a sacred place, is disturbed.”

The Black Hills encompass over 1.2 million acres, rising up from the Great Plains in southwest South Dakota and extending into Wyoming. The jagged peaks are smaller than those of the Rocky Mountains, but the lush pine-covered hills are sacred to the Lakota Sioux people and serve as a destination for millions of tourists who visit Mount Rushmore and state parks.

Dramatic landscape changes come with modern mining

One gold mine now operates in the Black Hills, but companies have proposals before state and federal agencies for another one, plus exploratory drilling sites that they hope will lead to full-fledged mines. That has prompted opposition by Native American tribes and environmentalists who argue the projects are close to sacred sites, will contaminate waterways and permanently scar the landscape.

Gold extraction has changed dramatically in the decades since prospectors first began panning for gold in the Black Hills. The industry now typically relies on massive trucks and diggers that create deep, multitiered pits and use chemicals like cyanide to extract the gold.

The land can never return to its original state. The Homestake mine, once the largest and deepest gold mine in the Western Hemisphere, now sits barren in Lead, South Dakota, and is used for scientific research.

Interest in Black Hills gold mining has soared along with the price of the metal. When the Homestake mine closed in 2002, gold sold for about $300 an ounce. Now it goes for about 10 times as much.

Joseph Cavatoni, senior market strategist at the World Gold Council, attributes the price spike to global economic uncertainty.

“Gold tends to be a stable asset,” he said. “That actually performs well in inflationary times, and holds its value in recessionary times. That’s why gold as an asset in investment.”

President Donald Trump also boosted the industry by issuing an executive order in March to increase American mineral production, calling for expedited permitting and reviews.

Colin Paterson, professor emeritus of geological engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, notes that Black Hills gold is encased in rock. To extract it, the rock is crushed and then a chemical like cyanide is used to dissolve the mineral and remove it.

Mining brings revenue, but renews Black Hills fight

Coeur Mining runs the single active mine in the Black Hills, but the company Dakota Gold has plans for an open pit mine to begin operating in 2029. The company is also targeting the area near the old Homestake site to build an underground mine where workers would descend hundreds or even thousands of feet into shafts.

Jack Henris, president and chief operating officer of Dakota Gold, estimated the open pit mine would create up to 250 jobs and result in the company paying the state up to $400 million in taxes over the life of the mine. Dakota Gold will conduct an environmental study and surveys of soil and vegetation to ensure safe operation, Henris said.

“Most of the people that work here are from this area and just love to live here,” he said. “So we’re a big part of the Hills and we love them just as much as other folks.”

To a great extent, gold mining helped create the modern Black Hills region.

The U.S. government signed a treaty in 1868 that recognized the Sioux Nation’s right to the Black Hills, but the government seized the land after the discovery of gold and allowed settlers into the region. The U.S. Supreme Court later ruled the Sioux were entitled to compensation, but they have not accepted any and maintain their claim to the land.

Tribes have largely opposed mining in the Black Hills.

“There’s a central truth about mining in the Black Hills in that it was never the most mineral rich place there ever was,” said Taylor Gunhammer, local organizer with the Indigenous advocacy group NDN Collective and an Oglala Sioux, one of the Lakota people. “It’s not even the actual mineral content of the Black Hills that is so attractive to mining companies. It’s the permissive nature of the officials who oversee mining.”

Some proposed projects, such as Dakota Gold’s mine, are on private land and only subject to state rules, not the U.S. Forest Service regulations required for projects on public acreage.

Environmentalists have focused their opposition on the possibility of chemicals leaks. They note that Coeur’s Wharf mine has had nearly 200 spills and that the former Homestake mine was closed because it contaminated a nearby creek.

Coeur’s environmental manager, Jasmine McCauley, said in a statement that each spill was “thoroughly investigated, mitigated, and corrective actions are put in place to prevent reoccurrence.” The company is always improving its processes, she added.

Jarding, of the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, said she remains concerned about the number of projects in the works.

“It’s really important that people understand the exponential growth in mining activity that’s been happening in the Black Hills over the last five years or so,” Jarding said. “There are currently active mining claims on 271,000 acres in the Black Hills. That’s 20% of the whole Black Hills that is potentially going to be subject to mining.”

Judge Expands Restraining Order against ‘Beto’ O’Rourke, Adds ActBlue

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) A judge has expanded a temporary restraining order against former U.S. Rep. Robert (Beto) O’Rourke and his organization, Powered by People, as well as ActBlue and any bank or financial institution with whom they do business.

The order was issued on Saturday after Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a motion with the court on Friday requesting it to expand an initial order issued last week.

Eight days ago, a Texas district court granted a request for a temporary restraining order against O’Rourke and Powered by People, after both claimed to raise money to fund dozens of House Democrats leaving Texas, The Center Square reported. More than 50 left in protest to prevent the Texas House from conducting official business, including voting for a Congressional redistricting bill they oppose.

Paxton’s office also launched an investigation into Powered by the People and Texas Majority PAC, The Center Square reported.

The court’s initial order blocked O’Rourke and Powered by People from continuing to raise or distribute money for absconding Democrats. After the ruling, O’Rourke said the order wasn’t stopping him from raising money. The next day, he held a rally in Fort Worth, saying, “Still here, still raising and rallying to stop the steal of 5 congressional seats in Texas,” referencing the the new proposed maps that could flip up to five Democrat-held seats to Republican in the 2026 midterms.

O’Rourke also posted videos on social media of him speaking at rallies to raise money for the House Democratic cause in Kansas City and in Fort Worth. He also posted links to raise money, saying, “the gloves are off. Donate now.”

Powered by People and the Democratic PAC ActBlue continued to raise money to “fight” Texas redistricting efforts, prompting Paxton to file a motion of contempt against O’Rourke, The Center Square reported.

Late Friday, Paxton filed an amended petition requesting the court to revoke Powered by People’s charter, arguing it is “responsible for deceptively fundraising and handing out ‘Beto Bribes’ to Democrat legislators in exchange for breaking quorum.”

Paxton argues O’Rourke and the organization “have deceived donors, bought off Texas politicians, and unlawfully assisted runaway Democrats in avoiding arrest.” He asked the court to “enforce its previous TRO, throw Beto behind bars, and revoke Powered by People’s charter for its unlawful conduct. There must be consequences.”

The amended complaint claims “O’Rourke and Powered by People are directing consumers to political fundraising platforms, such as ActBlue, for the express political purpose of ‘fight[ing]’ Republicans and protecting Democratic seats from ‘corrupt republicans,’ meanwhile the funds are actually being used for lavish personal expenditures (i.e. travel on private jets, luxury hotel accommodations, and fine dining that is disconnected from, and has no legitimate purpose relating to, their legislative positions).”

It also claims the defendants engaged in unlawful and deceptive fundraising practices in Tarrant County and engaged in deceptive trade practices in the solicitation and receipt of donations. It also asks the court to approve a Notice of Lien “to immediately halt Defendants’ unlawful conduct.”

On Saturday, Judge Megan Fahey issued an expanded TRO through Sept. 5 and scheduled a hearing for a temporary injunction on Sept. 2.

“The Court finds that harm is imminent to the State, and if the Court does not issue this order, the State will be irreparably injured,” Fahey said in her ruling. “Specifically, Defendants’ fundraising conduct constitutes false, misleading, or deceptive acts under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act” and Texas business codes. “Because Defendants are raising and utilizing political contributions from Texas consumers to pay for the personal expenses of Texas legislators, in violation of Texas law. Because this conduct is unlawful and harms Texas consumers, restraining this conduct is in the public interest.”

After the ruling, Paxton said, “His fraudulent attempt to pad the pockets of the rogue cowards abandoning Texas has been stopped, and now the court has rightly frozen his ability to continue to send money outside of Texas. The cabal of Democrats who have colluded together to scam Texans and derail our Legislature will face the full force of the law, starting with Robert Francis O’Rourke.”

On Saturday, O’Rourke was involved in another rally in Austin and thanked “everyone who has joined us in this fight for Texas.” As a result of their fundraising efforts, they donated more than $1 million to the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, the Texas House Democratic Caucus, and the Mexican American Legislative Caucus during the special session, he announced.

Hurricane Erin Explodes in Strength to a Category 5 Storm in the Caribbean

(Headline USA) Hurricane Erin exploded in strength to a Category 5 storm in the Caribbean on Saturday, rapidly powering up from a tropical storm in a single day, the National Hurricane Center said.

While the compact hurricane’s center wasn’t expected to strike land, it threatened to dump flooding rains on the northeast Caribbean as it continued to grow larger.

The first Atlantic hurricane of 2025, Erin ramped up from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane in a mere 24 hours. By late Saturday morning, its maximum sustained winds more than doubled to 160 mph.

Mike Brennen, director of the National Hurricane Center in Miami, said Erin had grown into a “very powerful hurricane.” He said its winds gained 60 mph in intensity within about nine hours Saturday.

“We expect to see Erin peak here in intensity relatively soon,” Brennan said in an online briefing.

The Hurricane Center said Erin should weaken somewhat late Saturday or early Sunday as the storm encounters increased wind shear and possibly takes in more dry air. However, forecasters predict it will remain a major hurricane until midweek.

Erin close enough to land to trigger flooding, landslides

The hurricane was located 110 miles north of Anguilla at 2 p.m. Saturday, moving west at 16 mph. The storm’s center was forecast to remain at sea, passing 145 miles north of Puerto Rico, according to the National Weather Service.

Erin was close enough to affect nearby islands. Tropical storm watches were issued for St. Martin, St. Barts and St. Maarten. The Hurricane Center warned that heavy rain in some areas could trigger flash flooding, landslides and mudslides.

Tropical-storm force wind gusts are possible in the Turks and Caicos Islands and southeast Bahamas.

Though compact in size, with hurricane-force winds extending 30 miles (45 km) from its center, the Hurricane Center said Erin was expected to double or even triple in size in the coming days.

Erin could create powerful rip currents off the U.S. East Coast from Florida to the mid-Atlantic next week, even with its eye forecast to remain far offshore, Brennan said.

An ‘incredible’ race from tropical storm to Category 5

Hurricane specialist and storm surge expert Michael Lowry said Erin gained strength at a pace that was “incredible for any time of year, let alone August 16th.”

Lowry said only four other Category 5 hurricanes have been recorded in the Atlantic on or before Aug. 16.

The most powerful storms tend to form later in the year, with the hurricane season typically peaking in mid-September.

In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma rocketed from a tropical storm to a Category 5 storm in less than 24 hours, according to National Hurricane Center advisories from that time. Wilma weakened to a Category 3 hurricane before striking Florida. Hurricane Felix in October 2007 took just over a full day to go from a tropical storm to Category 5 strength.

Including Erin, there have been 43 hurricanes that have reached Category 5 status on record in the Atlantic, said Dan Pydynowski, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, a private forecasting company.

“They’re certainly rare, although this would mark the fourth year in a row that we’ve had one in the Atlantic basin,” Pydynowski said about Category 5 hurricanes. Conditions needed for hurricanes to reach this strength include very warm ocean water, little to no wind shear, and being far from land, he said.

Scientists say warming climate linked to storms strengthening faster

Scientists have linked rapid intensification of hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean to climate change. Global warming is causing the atmosphere to hold more water vapor and is spiking ocean temperatures. The warmer waters give hurricanes fuel to unleash more rain and strengthen more quickly.

Storms that ramp up so quickly complicate forecasting for meteorologists and make it harder for government agencies to plan for emergencies. Hurricane Erick, a Pacific storm that made landfall June 19 in Oaxaca, Mexico, also strengthened rapidly, doubling in intensity in less than a day.

Erin is the fifth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. It’s the first to become a hurricane.

The 2025 hurricane season is expected to be unusually busy. The forecast calls for six to 10 hurricanes, with three to five reaching major status with winds of more than 110 mph.

In San Juan, locals and tourists walked, exercised and shopped on Saturday as usual. Restaurants were busy, and despite warnings to avoid the beaches, people could be seen in the water at Ultimo Trolley and Ocean Park beaches. Puerto Rican parents, however, kept their children from swimming.

Sarahí Torres and Joanna Cornejo, visiting San Juan from California for a Bad Bunny concert, said they decided to go to the beach and wade into the water because the skies appeared calm.

“The weather looked fine, so we came out,” Torres said.

The U.S. government deployed more than 200 employees from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other agencies to Puerto Rico as a precaution. Puerto Rico Housing Secretary Ciary Pérez Peña said 367 shelters were inspected and ready to open if needed.

Meanwhile, officials in the Bahamas said they prepared some public shelters as a precaution as they urged people to track the hurricane.

“These storms are very volatile and can make sudden shifts in movement,” said Aarone Sargent, managing director for the Bahamas’ disaster risk management authority.

S.C.’s Unhinged Democrat Frontrunner for Gov. Threatens to Kick In Nancy Mace’s Teeth

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) South Carolina Democrats were reeling Friday after the disclosure of a months-old arrest video that showed their leading gubernatorial candidate unleashing a drunken diatribe about well-known political figures, including former President Barack Obama and Republican Rep. Nancy Mace.

A 17-minute portion of the cringeworthy half-hour rant by Democrat lawyer William “Mullins” McLeod went viral on X after Charleston’s Post and Courier first broke the story on Tuesday.

The newspaper had filed a public-information request for the dash-cam footage when McLeod became the first—and, to date, only—Democrat to file for the 2026 gubernatorial race.

McLeod was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on May 14 in Charleston’s posh and historic Battery neighborhood, where he was reported to be “yelling at the top of his lungs” while clad only in underwear and shoes.

While en route to the police station, where he was charged with disorderly conduct, the prominent attorney and two-time chairman of the Charleston County Democratic Party threatened physical violence against several political adversaries—including Mace, a possible GOP challenger in the governor race.

“So, let’s get back to the teeth thing—I’m going to kick every one of them in, all right?” McLeod said in a portion of the incoherent rant directed at Mace. “And when I’m through kicking them in … find me a dentist, and they’re gonna put all your teeth—before you swallow them, you dumb f**king coward—back in your teeth.”

McLeod referred to both Mace and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as “b**ch” and also made pejorative remarks directed at black Democrats, including former state Rep. Bakari Sellers (no known relation to the author).

McLeod initially referred to Sellers as a “friend,” referencing their work together in negotiating an $88 million settlement for victims of a 2015 mass shooting at a black church.

“The only reason I didn’t let Bakari do the people’s work is because I like a little heavy lifting,” McLeod said, before appearing to refer to the well-known CNN commentator by the n-word.

McLeod praised Obama as a “smooth” talker.

Meanwhile, he attacked Republicans including Mace and President Donald Trump (with whom he also claimed to be cousins) as “dogwhistle” racists. He invoked late-GOP strategist Lee Atwater who promoted the so-called Southern strategy to woo racist whites away from their longtime home in the Democratic Party.

“Nancy … tell the world right now what you did in the halls of Congress was the greatest sin ever committed in the history of this nation,” McLeod said.

State Democrats were among those calling for McLeod to drop out of the gubernatorial race.

“It is clear that Mr. McLeod is navigating profound challenges and should focus on his mental and emotional well-being instead of a campaign for governor,” state Democrat Chairwoman Christale Spain in a statement.

Sellers said his former colleague needed to explain himself.

“I don’t know if there is an explanation, but that’s on him” Sellers told the South Carolina Daily Gazette.”

Mace spokeswoman Sydney Long encouraged McLeod to seek treatment.

He “threatened to violently kick a woman’s teeth in,” Long said. “Those who promote violence against women should never hold public office. We hope he gets the help he needs.”

McLeod, who previously launched a failed bid for governor in 2010, offered no indication that he planned to exit the race as of Saturday, reassuring fellow Democrats that all would be revealed in time.

“The only thing I’d ask the voters is to please give me a little bit of grace and know that long before we go to election day, they’ll know exactly what happened,” he told the Post and Courier. “And when they learn what happened around my unlawful arrest, it will be a reason why I absolutely need to be our state’s governor.”

MSNBC Host Hides Ties to Co-Conspirator Hubby in Russia-Gate Interview

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) MSNBC’s fake token Republican, Nicolle Wallace, was called out after inviting her husband on to defend the New York Times‘s role in the Russia-collusion conspiracy—without noting their relationship.

Wallace, a former George W. Bush staffer and John McCain campaign adviser, quietly married Times reporter Michael Schmidt in April 2022.

Schmidt had been the conduit of several notorious leaks that then-FBI Director James Comey used to launder the discredited Steele Dossier as a valid source in order to justify the FBI’s “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation.

After leaking to the Times and other left-wing organizations, Comey and his deep-state cronies proceeded to cite the media reports as evidence of suspicious activity in a series of four FISA applications to surveille Trump and his campaign surrogates.

Evidence now shows, however, that intelligence officials knew from early on that the probe was falsely predicated, and that it had been directed by none other than then-President Barack Obama, after having been cooked up by the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Ironically, Schmidt accused the Trump officials who are currently unraveling the conspiracy of doing the same thing in trying to manufacture their own investigation.

“What we see them doing is moving the ball around the court and teeing each other up differently, you know, to—to get them to some sort of investigation,” Schmidt claimed.

“You have the [Trump-allied] intelligence community taking the fruits of what it does, or whatever classified stuff that it has, declassifying it, sending referrals to the Justice Department, and putting the department in a place to go forward and say, ‘OK, we’re looking at this and using the specter of criminality to—to examine Trump’s foes,” he added.

In addition to her hubby, Wallace balanced the panel with yet another NeverTrump conspirator, lawfare activist Andrew Weissmann, the de-facto mastermind of the Mueller investigation even though ostensibly neutral special counsel Robert Mueller was its figurehead.

Mueller, who has been living recently in a nursing home, testified in 2019 that he had no idea what Fusion GPS was, despite the crucial role the opposition research firm played in compiling the Steele Dossier.

His eponymous report ultimately failed to find sufficient evidence to prosecute President Donald Trump but stopped short of exonerating him—thereby giving Democrats the ammo needed to reclaim the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms and wage a spurious impeachment investigation.

Wallace also offered her own color commentary to cue up Weissmann’s response.

“I don’t know what moves the men in the man-osphere, but it looks so freakin’ lame and weak to be so obsessed with Obama,” she groused.

It is unclear whether Schmidt or Weissmann is under investigation for their respective roles in the conspiracy.

Attorney General Pam Bondi this week declined to confirm or deny whether a grand jury had yet been empaneled, although administration officials have strongly suggested that the criminal probe was moving forward.

Investigative reporter Hans Mahncke noted that a crucial deadline was approaching if the DOJ hoped to secure perjury indictments over testimony given to special counsel John Durham during his earlier investigation of the Russia-gate conspiracy.

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Former Obama Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and CIA Director John Brennan said in separate interviews that President Donald Trump should receive a Nobel Peace Prize if he successfully brokers an armistice between Russia and Ukraine.

Clinton and Brennan are both possible subjects of a federal conspiracy investigation into the Russia-gate hoax. That means that, as a last resort if found guilty, they may need to seek a presidential pardon from the very person against whom they allegedly conspired, President Donald Trump.

Speaking on the “Raging Moderates” podcast with New York University professor Scott Galloway and Fox News token liberal Jessica Tarlov, Clinton said she would personally nominate her 2016 election opponent for a Nobel Peace Prize.

True to Clinton form, she qualified her statement with a litany of preconditions that seem highly unlikely—notably that Russia will cede back all the territory it claimed from Ukraine during the Obama and Biden administrations.

“He is not meeting with a friend. He is meeting with an adversary—and an adversary who wants to see the destruction of the United States and the Western alliance,” said Clinton, who famously presented the Kremlin with a “reset button” while serving as America’s top diplomat.

“But if he could bring about the end to this terrible war, if he could end it without putting Ukraine in a position where it had to concede its territory to the aggressor … if President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize,” Clinton added.

Trump—who has helped to usher in other significant peace agreements, including the Abraham Accords between Israel and several of its Arab neighbors—responded that it was “very nice” of Clinton to offer to nominate him, The Hill reported.

“I might have to start liking her again,” he told Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Friday while flying to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for bilateral talks in Anchorage, Alaska.

Brennan concurred with Clinton during an MSNBC interview with CIA stenographer Nicolle Wallace, while also putting Trump’s odds of success at one in 100.

“This is something way, way beyond his ability to even influence … but I would second the nomination for a Peace Prize for Donald Trump if, in fact, that happens,” said Brennan.

Trump’s Alaska summit was not an immediate success, with Putin rejecting the terms for a ceasefire that was considered necessary for advancing talks and staving off sanctions.

Nonetheless, a visibly exhausted Trump declared the meeting a positive step forward, keeping the door open for future trilateral talks with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelinskyy.

Meanwhile, new damning documents emerged on Friday that further implicated Clinton and Brennan in specific crimes related to the Russia-gate hoax—and, in Clinton’s case, to a much larger influence-peddling operation through the Clinton Foundation, which has invested in Ukraine’s postwar rebuilding.

An email discovered by current FBI Director Kashyap Patel and released by Just the News’s John Solomon showed that Obama appointee Sally Yates, Trump’s first acting attorney general, had specifically directed investigators in a Clinton corruption case to “shut it down.”

Additionally, evidence revealed that the FBI—led by Deputy Director Andrew McCabe—was actively prevented from examining more than 300,000 Clinton emails found on the laptop of convicted pedophile Anthony Weiner.

Then-FBI Director James Comey falsely reassured the public in the days ahead of the 2016 election that a thorough investigation—led by anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok—had conclusively investigated the laptop and found no evidence to reopen its investigation of Clinton.

An email released Wednesday by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard showed that Brennan, along with Comey, then-DNI James Clapper and then-NSA director Mike Rogers, agreed to “compromise on our ‘normal’ modalities” in order to put out a false intelligence report demanded by then-President Barack Obama that misleadingly claimed Russia had tampered in the 2016 election.

Trump, Zelenskyy to Meet Monday in Steps Towards Peace with Russia

(, The Center Square) Following a “successful” meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump said he is going straight for a “peace agreement” in a Monday meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.

“The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russa went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO,” the president wrote on social media early Saturday morning after arriving back in Washington.

Trump indicated in-person peace talks between the two Eastern European leaders could be on the horizon, raising hopes for putting an end to a war in its fourth year. He has said similar things since the opening weeks of his second term, and dozens of times on the campaign trail said the war would end on Day 1 if he was elected.

“It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere ceasefire agreement, which often times do not hold up,” Trump wrote. “President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved.”

During a press conference following the Friday meeting between Trump and the Russian president, Putin, said his country is interested in “putting an end” to the war with Ukraine.

Trump indicated progress was made in talks with Putin, but did not elaborate on any agreements.

There were no immediate changes on the battlefields.

“Many points were agreed to, and there are just a very few that are left,” said the president. “Some are not that significant. One is probably the most significant, but we have a very good chance of getting there. We didn’t get there but we have a very good chance of getting there.”

Despite the successful meeting, Trump underscored that there is “no deal until there’s a deal” and that it is “ultimately up to” the two Eastern European leaders to come to an agreement.

The Russian president told reporters that the two countries must address the “roots” of the conflict in order to reach an agreement.

“We’re convinced that in order to make the settlement lasting and long term, we need to eliminate all the primary roots, the primary causes of that conflict and … to consider all legitimate concerns of Russia and to reinstate a just balance of security in Europe and in the world on the whole,” Putin said. “We agree with President Trump … that naturally, the security of Ukraine should be insured as well.”

In a social media post Saturday morning, Zelenskyy was much more direct in his demands for peace.

“The positions are clear,” Zelenskyy wrote. “We need to achieve real peace that will be lasting, not just another pause between Russian invasions. We must stop the killings as soon as possible, cease fire both on the battlefield and in the skies, and against our port infrastructure. We must free all Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians and bring back the children abducted by Russia. Thousands of our people are still held in captivity; they all must be brought home. We must maintain pressure on Russia as long as the aggression and occupation continue.

“In the conversation with President Trump, I emphasized that sanctions should be strengthened if there is no trilateral meeting or if Russia evades an honest end to the war. Sanctions are an effective tool. We need to reliably and long-term guarantee security with the participation of both Europe and the United States. All issues important to Ukraine must be discussed with Ukraine’s involvement, and no issue, including territorial ones, should be resolved without Ukraine.”

The last time Zelenskyy and Trump met at the White House in February, the meeting ended abruptly following a tense exchange. At the time, Trump said Zelenskyy wasn’t “ready for peace.”

Since then, the leaders appeared to have patched things up during two sidebar meetings in Europe.
