Notorious Jan. 6 Cop Running for Congress Beat His Stepson, Pointed Gun at Wife

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Punchbowl News revealed shocking details this week about the 2012 suspension of former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn, who is now running for Congress as a Democrat in Maryland.

Dunn’s 2012 suspension for mishandling his firearm was already reported in conservative media, but this week the startup liberal publication Punchbowl News published a police report from that incident. According to the police report, Dunn was in a November 2011 domestic dispute with his then-wife and stepson, in which he assaulted and pointed a gun at her. The police report also details allegations that he beat the stepson.

The report said that Dunn had instructed the stepson to wash the dishes while the then-wife attended to her infant daughter. Dunn found that his stepson disobeyed his order, and was angry that the stepson was “disrespecting” him.

When the then-wife tried defending her son, “Dunn became more hostile and proceeded to ‘smash’ her up against the wall,” the Montgomery County Police report said.

Later, the stepson went to his bedroom while the wife called her sister. Then, “Dunn went into the spare bedroom and retrieved two firearms: one rifle and one handgun,” the police report said.

The wife told police that “Dunn aimed the handgun in the direction of her face.” When the wife told him to stop pointing the gun, he allegedly said, “I can’t shoot you, I don’t have the clip.”

The wife told police that was the first time Dunn pointed a gun at her.

During the Montgomery County Police’s investigation of the incident, an officer observed that the stepson’s glasses were broken. The stepson, whose name is redacted in the report, told officers that Dunn broke the glasses while beating him.

“Originally, [the stepson] was to be attending a function at his school. H. Dunn responded to his school to pick him up. H. Dunn then learned that [the stepson] was with his friends at the above referenced restaurant. When H. Dunn arrived at the restaurant, [the stepson] advised H. Dunn physically struck him in the arm and then struck him in the face twice,” the report said.

“When asked if he sustained any injuries as a result of being physically hit, [the stepson] advised other than some swelling to his jaw, he did not sustain any other injuries.”

Dunn, for his part, adamantly denied the allegation that he hit his stepson in the face. He did admit to striking him “in the arm with the palm of his hand (5-6 times) because he felt [the stepson] needed to be disciplined for being out late at night without permission,” the report said.

As for the dispute with his wife, Dunn claimed self-defense.

According to the report, the two were in a heated argument, during which “[the wife] squeezed his testicles and scratched his leg as the altercation continued. In response, H. Dunn advised he physically grabbed a hold of Danyel’s arms and physically drove her to the couch in an effort to defend himself.”

Dunn also accused the wife of “wiggling” a knife at him. He further denied pointing a gun at his then-wife, saying he was removing the firearms from his bedroom to avoid an escalation in violence.

“Dunn then stated he retrieved his weapons because he wanted to act responsibly and remove the ‘weapons from the equation,’” the report said.

About a month after the incident, Dunn’s then-wife stopped cooperating with investigators. No criminal charges were filed, and Dunn was only suspended for three days for  improperly storing his department-issued gun.

In response to the police report obtained by Punchbowl News, Dunn and his now-ex-wife stuck to their original story that no violence transpired during that November 2011 incident.

The Punchbowl News report is the latest blow to the reputation of an officer whom Democrats made a poster boy for the Capitol Police following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill uprising.

Dunn has made numerous dubious claims about what happened on Jan. 6, including that protestors called him the N-word and shouted numerous other slurs at him. Dunn should have the body cam footage to prove his claims, but so far no footage has shown protestors attacking him or shouting racist slurs.

More recently, Dunn was found to have given false statements about the Oath Keepers, according to an investigation from Blaze Media.

Hochul Walks Back Claim that Black Kids in the Bronx Don’t Know What a Computer Is

(Headline USA) New York Gov. Kathy Hochul claimed this week that she “misspoke” when she said there were black kids in the Bronx who didn’t know what the word “computer” meant.

Hochul made the comment during an address at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles on Monday, the New York Times reported.

She started by praising her administration’s efforts to invest in new technology for “researchers” and “college students” in New York, specifically citing the state’s $400 million “Empire AI” initiative.

“It’s sort of our attitude: We will be the best. We will be the first,” Hochul said.

“And I want others to follow,” she continued. “Because, right now, we have young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is. They don’t know. They don’t know these things.”

Hochul said she wanted to open “the world” to them “because when you have their diverse voices innovating solutions through technology, then you’re really addressing society’s broader challenges.”

Bronx leaders immediately blasted Hochul for insulting their community.

“Deeply disturbed by [Hochul’s] recent remarks and the underlying perception that she has of Black and brown children from [the Bronx],” tweeted New York State Assembly Member Karines Reyes. “Our children are bright, brilliant, extremely capable, and more than deserving of any opportunities that are extended to other kids. Do better.”

Fellow Assembly Member John Zaccaro Jr. agreed, arguing Hochul’s comments indicate a “deeply concerning” bias on her part.

“I’m deeply troubled by the recent statements made by [Hochul],” he said in a statement. “The underlying perception conveyed about Black and brown children from the Bronx is not only disheartening but also deeply concerning.”

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declined to comment.

Hochul responded to the backlash on Tuesday, saying she regretted making the comment.

“Of course black children in the Bronx know what computers are,” she said. “The problem is that they too often lack access to the technology needed to get on track to high-paying jobs in emerging industries like AI.”

The comment echoed a casually racist gaffe made by President Joe Biden himself shortly after becoming president, when he suggested that black and brown people lacked the basic knowledge on how to use the internet—and was subsequently ridiculed for it.

House to Hold Garland in Contempt for Blocking Biden Interview

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) After months of threatening, Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee are taking action against Attorney General Merrick Garland, advancing the largely toothless but symbolic measure of holding him in contempt of Congress, the Washington Examiner reported.

Namely, Garland failed to furnish Congress with the requested audio recordings of a special counsel’s interview with Biden regarding his handling of classified documents.

Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, R-Ky., subpoenaed the audio in February, along with the written transcript of special counsel Robert Hur’s interview, as part of their impeachment inquiry into whether Biden abused his power when he was vice president to help his family score lucrative business deals.

Hur concluded after his investigation that Biden had mishandled the documents, obtained throughout his tenure as both U.S. senator and vice president, and that Biden had also allowed a ghostwriter to access those documents in 2017.

Despite Hur’s findings, the DOJ framed the situation as accidental, the bungling of an elderly man who lacked mental acuity, determining that no jury would reasonably find the president competent to stand trial.

When requested, the DOJ did provide Congress with a heavily redacted transcript of the interview.

But if Garland fails to hand over the audio recordings, he could face criminal charges when the case is handed over the the U.S. Attorney’s office, that is, to Garland’s own department.

Although Garland’s own Justice Department is unlikely to charge him, a future Trump DOJ could opt to do so, just as Garland’s Justice Department went after Trump advisers Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon for ignoring subpoenas from Nancy Pelosi’s partisan Jan. 6 Committee. Navarro is currently serving out a four-month prison sentence.

Carlos Uriarte, an assistant attorney general and DOJ spokeswoman, claimed that making Biden’s complete interview available public could endanger Americans or pose some undisclosed risk to national security.

As a result, Uriarte argued, Americans just needed to trust the DOJ.

“We have … repeatedly urged the Committees to avoid unnecessary conflict and to respect the public interest in the Department’s ability to conduct effective investigations by protecting sensitive law enforcement files,” he wrote in an April press release.

Judge Orders the Unmasking of Epstein Victims Suing the FBI

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The 12 Jeffrey Epstein victims suing the FBI for allowing Epstein’s sex-trafficking network to operate with impunity may not be able to proceed with their lawsuit anonymously.

U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil said in an April 30 order that the Epstein victims must file a new lawsuit under their real names by May 20. Some of the victims have never told their story publicly, and thus would be revealed in this lawsuit for the first time.

The victims sought to sue the FBI anonymously for two primary reasons: They didn’t want to relive their trauma in public, and because they still fear retaliation from Epstein’s cronies. In her order, Judge Vyskocil said these concerns were too speculative for her to allow the lawsuit to proceed anonymously.

“They assert that their experiences are ‘deeply traumatic’ and ‘playing out those experiences in a public forum would retraumatize them,’” the judge said.

“However, Plaintiffs’ allegations of potential harm are too speculative and insufficient to outweigh the presumption in favor of openness in judicial proceedings.”

The judge had similar remarks about the risk of the victims facing retaliation.

“Plaintiffs’ unsupported theory that unspecified and unknown alleged ‘co-conspirators’ may cause them ‘serious harm’ is too speculative to support their motion. Moreover, this action is not brought against Epstein’s estate or any other alleged co-conspirator. This action is brought against the United States of America,” she said.

“While the Court hardly thinks such a warning is necessary, the Court admonishes counsel for the United States, to refrain from any action that would substantiate this allegation,” she added.

The Epstein victims will try once more to proceed with their lawsuit anonymously. One of their lawyers sent a letter to the judge Tuesday, asking for a time extension to June 20 to refile their lawsuit, and to draft another motion to proceed anonymously.

The survivors initially filed their lawsuit in February, nearly a year after they filed a complaint with the Justice Department over the matter.

The lawsuit recounts the FBI’s long, sorry track record on the Epstein case, starting when the bureau ignored a complaint from Epstein victim Maria Farmer in 1996.

“Between 1996 and 2006, the FBI continued to receive reports, complaints and tips concerning the illegal sex trafficking of women and underage minors, sex abuse and human rights violations committed by Jeffrey Epstein and associates. In March of 2005, the FBI was alerted by the Palm Beach Police Department of child prostitution. In fact, there was a 14-year-old girl who was solicited to Epstein’s mansion for sex,” the lawsuit said.

Even when the FBI opened an investigation into Epstein in 2006, the result was a sweetheart deal, where he pleaded guilty to solicitation of a minor in exchange for non-prosecution. Epstein served 13 months in jail, during which time he was allowed to leave for work release during the day. The FBI then closed its investigation in 2008, allowing Epstein to again run amok for another decade.

After Epstein’s 2008 unusual plea deal, more reports, tips and complaints were received by the FBI concerning sex with teenagers, minors, sex trafficking and abuse, the lawsuit continued.

“The FBI was aware of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring between New York, Palm Beach, New Mexico, Paris and the U.S. Virgin Islands which continued after Epstein was a registered sex offender,” the lawsuit said.

“It was not until 11 years later, Epstein was arrested on July 6, 2019, and charged with sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy. Epstein died in jail before the case could be prosecuted for these heinous crimes.”

The victims are asking the court to award them damages for the FBI’s negligence.

Q1 Gold Demand Strongest Since 2016

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Factoring in sizeable over-the-counter (OTC) buying, gold demand charted its strongest first quarter since 2016.

Excluding OTC buying, demand fell 5 percent to 1,102 tons. Significant outflows of gold from ETFs drove the dip. But including over-the-counter buying by investors, gold demand grew by 3 percent year-on-year, reaching 1,238 tons, according to data compiled by the World Gold Council.

OTC buying is opaque. Analysts estimate it using the pace and scale of the rise in the gold price. The average price of gold rose by 10 percent during the quarter, coming in at a record $2,070 per ounce.

According to the World Gold Council, the positioning of speculative investors in the U.S. futures market also correlates with OTC demand. CME net managed money positions rose by 91 tons in Q1.

Central bank gold buying continued to drive overall demand higher. Central banks globally added a net 290 tons of gold to reserves during the first quarter. China, Turkey, and India were the biggest gold buyers in Q1.

Demand for gold coins and gold bars came in at 312 tons, matching demand from the previous quarter. Year on year, coin and bar demand was up 3 percent.

We see the movement of gold from West to East in coin and bar demand. According to the World Gold Council, profit-taking by Western investors contrasted with largely one-way investment demand in Asia. Bar and coin demand in China surged by 68 percent year-on-year to 110 tons. Gold bar and coin investment in India jumped by 19 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, physical gold demand fell modestly in U.S. and European markets.

Gold jewelry demand softened by 2 percent in Q1, coming in at 479 tons. Despite a softening market, demand was around 3 percent higher than the historic first-quarter average. Higher prices created headwinds for jewelry demand.

The biggest factor driving demand lower was continued outflows of gold from ETFs, particularly in North America and Europe. ETF holdings dropped by 114 tons in Q1. U.S. and European listed funds charted a 4 percent decline. But again, reflecting the movement of gold from West to East, Asian-based ETF gold holdings grew by 10 tons. Chinese funds accounted for the bulk of the increase.

Gold demand in the tech sector recovered in Q1, growing by 10 percent year-on-year. The electronics sector drove growth with a 16 percent rise in demand to 64 tons.

Looking forward, the World Gold Council projects “a much stronger return for gold” in 2024 than initially anticipated. Continued central bank demand and retail investment are expected to support the gold price despite tepid Western physical investment.

Jim Grant: The Federal Reserve Is Broke!

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) The Federal Reserve is losing billions of dollars. As financial journalist and market analyst Jim Grant put it during a recent interview on Fox Business, the Fed is actually broke.

But most people don’t seem concerned about the central bank’s financial condition. They are more concerned about what Donald Trump may do to the Fed if he wins the election.

Reports recently surfaced that Trump would like to significantly reshape the Federal Reserve and require monetary policy to align with administration goals. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called the plan an attack on our institutions similar to January 6.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden said we will get an interest rate cut, but it will be delayed a month, implying he has some say in the matter.

So, whatever happened to Federal Reserve “independence?”

Grant said this is nothing new.

“Biden is speaking in the long tradition of Presidents Johnson and Nixon, FDR, and Truman. I don’t think there’s much new here except the reaction, perhaps, on the part of Janet Yellen.”

But Grant said he does see a new trend emerging – the dependence of the Federal Reserve on the Treasury Department.

“The Fed, as we would say in the private sector, is broke.”

Grant was referring to the massive losses suffered by the central bank in this higher interest rate environment. The Fed’s operating losses ballooned to a record $114.3 billion last year. To put that in perspective, it would be the third-largest bankruptcy in American history — just behind Lehman Brothers and Washington Mutual in 2008.

According to Grant, current losses at the central bank total $123.6 billion.

Under the Federal Reserve charter, the central bank remits net operating profits to the U.S. Treasury. This serves as an income source for the federal government and lowers the budget deficit. But when the Fed loses money, the Treasury loses its payday. That results in even bigger budget deficits.

In effect, the Federal Reserve has borrowed $123.6 billion from the federal government.

Although Jerome Powell didn’t go to Yellen and ask for a loan, the central bank will ultimately have to pay all of this money to the Treasury.

Here’s how it works.

When the Fed loses money, the central bankers engage in some creative accounting.

We live in a universe where the Fed makes its own special accounting rules, and according to its own special accounting rules, a net loss magically transforms into a “deferred asset.”

You read that right. Losses become an “asset” on the Fed’s balance sheet.

The Fed explained the “deferred asset” like this:

[I]n the unlikely scenario in which realized losses were sufficiently large enough to result in an overall net income loss for the Reserve Banks, the Federal Reserve would still meet its financial obligations to cover operating expenses. In that case, remittances to the Treasury would be suspended and a deferred asset would be recorded on the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet.

Under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, operating losses reduce a business’s reported capital or surplus.

But in Fed accounting, the central bank simply creates an “asset” on its balance sheet out of thin air equal to the loss. Business goes on as usual. If losses mount, the size of this “asset” grows.

Once the Fed starts making money again, it will reduce the amount of this imaginary asset as it sends the money over to the Treasury.

So Grant is correct – the Fed is indeed billions in debt to the U.S. Treasury.

Grant also discussed monetary policy during the interview, saying the Fed “dearly wants to cut interest rates.”

“The legacy of a dozen years of zero percent or so rates, the legacy of the era of money growing on trees, the consequence has been the enormous buildup of debt, both in business and government. And what business and government don’t need is higher rates of interest.”

On the other hand, if the central bank wants to maintain the integrity of the dollar – in other words, hold down inflation – it has to address that with higher rates.

“So, everyone is hoping and praying for lower rates and exhaling mightily when they seem to be getting them.”

Nathan Wade Casts Shadow on Fani Willis’s Sworn Testimony In Tell-All Interview

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Disgraced former prosecutor Nathan Wade has made contradictory statements regarding his infamous love affair with embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

In a candid interview on ABC News’s Good Morning America on Monday, Wade directly contradicted Willis’s characterization of their relationship while they led the case against former President Donald Trump.

“You don’t plan to fall in love,” Wade told ABC News, addressing his affair with Willis that led to his expulsion from the case. “You don’t plan to have some relationship in the workplace. You don’t set out to do that. Those things develop organically. They develop over time.”

While Wade hinted at the possibility of love, Willis provided starkly different descriptions during her sworn testimony about their affair with the now-dismissed prosecutor.

The contradictions, initially reported by the New York Post, suggest that either Wade or Willis is misleading regarding the true nature of their relationship.

During her testimony from earlier this year, Willis alleged that she frequently engaged in “brutal arguments” with Wade regarding equality in the relationship.

“Mr. Wade is used to women that, as he told me one time, the only thing a woman can do for him is make him a sandwich,” she claimed.

In the same testimony, Willis portrayed Wade as merely a companion.

“I don’t need anything from a man. A man is not a plan. A man is a companion,” Willis asserted, countering concerns that she had financially benefited from her relationship with Wade, the individual she had entrusted with a taxpayer-funded contract to lead the criminal case.

Wade’s statements to ABC News followed Judge Scott McAfee’s ruling that, for the prosecution of Trump and other co-defendants to proceed, either Wade or Willis must resign from the case.

McAfee’s decision came after Trump co-defendant Mike Roman exposed the troubling affair between Wade and Willis, which they had conveniently concealed from the judge, the jury, and the defendants.

Willis, a far-left Democrat, is leading Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act charges against Trump, the presumed Republican nominee for president.

13 Fed. Judges Won’t Hire Law Clerks from Columbia Law School

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Thirteen federal judges said on May 6, 2024, that they would no longer hire law clerks from Columbia College and Columbia Law School, citing the “explosion of student disruptions” and the “virulent spread of anti-Semitism” at Columbia, which has now canceled its main graduation ceremony because of the violent protest.

In a letter to Columbia President Minouche Shafik, the judges wrote they would no longer hire “anyone who joins the Columbia University community—whether as undergraduates or as law students—beginning with the entering class of 2024,” the Washington Free Beacon reported.

“Freedom of speech protects protest, not trespass, and certainly not acts or threats of violence or terrorism. It has become clear that Columbia applies double standards when it comes to free speech and student misconduct,” they wrote.

The judges then continued highlighting the hypocrisy of the university by stating that if conservatives were to have a violent protest, the response would not be the same.

“Recent events demonstrate that ideological homogeneity throughout the entire institution of Columbia has destroyed its ability to train future leaders of a pluralistic and intellectually diverse country. If Columbia had been faced with a campus uprising of religious conservatives upset because they view abortion as a tragic genocide, we have no doubt that the university’s response would have been profoundly different,” they wrote.

In addition to Columbia law students, undergraduates would be affected as well.

“As judges who hire law clerks every year to serve in the federal judiciary, we have lost confidence in Columbia as an institution of higher education. Columbia has instead become an incubator of bigotry,” they wrote.

The news source also reported that the boycott could lead to a significant change in the American legal system. Since clerkships are a coveted commodity among law students, one of the selling points of elite law schools is that they help their students get jobs. Considering that there are far more conservative judges than there are conservative law students, law schools disproportionately rely on conservatives to boost their clerkship placements and prestige.

Color Me Shocked: Special Counsel Admits to FBI Tampering of Mar-a-Lago Documents

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Special Counsel Jack Smith admitted in a recent filing that the FBI had manipulated alleged classified documents found at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate during a raid by federal attack dogs.

This admission followed complaints from Trump’s co-defendant, Walt Nauta, who raised concerns about the accuracy of the chain of custody for materials seized during the August 2022 raid.

Responding to Nauta’s concerns, Smith conceded Friday that his prosecutors had misled U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon by asserting that the documents were maintained “in their original, intact form as seized.”

Instead, Smith clarified that “there are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans.”

In a footnote, Smith further clarified, “The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court.”

Adding to the controversy was Smith’s acknowledgment that the FBI deliberately inserted coversheets marked “Secret” and “Top Secret” for purported classified documents.

These coversheets gained national attention when the DOJ released photos, claiming they were evidence of classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. However, Smith revealed that the coversheets were brought to the estate by federal agents.

Smith detailed the process, stating: “If a box contained potentially privileged material and fell within the scope of the search warrant, the filter team seized the box for later closer review.”

He further explained, “If a box did not contain potentially privileged documents, the filter team provided the box to the investigative team for on-site review, and if the investigative team found a document with classification markings, it removed the document, segregated it, and replaced it with a placeholder sheet.”

Smith is presently leading the case against Trump, alleging that the former president transported classified documents to Mar-a-Lago and refused to surrender them to the government.

However, these claims have been undercut by accusations of damning partisanship within the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the agency tasked with saving historic classified documents.

Despite the purported urgency in safeguarding classified documents, NARA inexplicably overlooked allegations that President Joe Biden, during his tenure as vice president, withheld such documents in his Delaware home and Washington, D.C. office.

Unlike Trump, Biden lacked the authority to declassify documents. Yet, despite alleged evidence uncovered by Special Counsel Robert Hur suggesting Biden’s willful retention of classified documents, he has not faced criminal charges.

Trump has frequently cited the Biden case as evidence of a two-tier justice system.

Even Far-Left SNL Mocks Pro-Hamas Protests, Columbia Univ.

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The pro-Hamas protest at Columbia University got so out of control that even the far-left Saturday Night Live mocked those involved in their latest episode.

This skit specifically focused on the perspective of a man who opposed his daughter, a Columbia University student, joining the anti-Jewish protests, telling her instead to concentrate on her incredibly expensive and useless classes in her African American Studies department.

Even though the fictional parent supported students “using their voices to fight for what they believe in,” he opposed her daughter joining the protest and expressed his desire to see her “butt in class.”

“Nah man, you bugging. Alexis Vanessa Roberts better have her butt in class. Let me find out she’s in one of them damn tents instead of the dorm room that I pay for,” the father said.

When the father’s hypocrisy was highlighted, he simply replied that he only cares about his child, which implies that the only reason why he thinks the other students should be allowed to protest is because they are not his children and, therefore, he doesn’t care.

“That’s good for y’all’s kids. But they ain’t mine. That’s all I’m saying. They ain’t my kids,” he said.

One of the reasons why the fictional father opposed his daughter’s participation in the protest was because he thought she needed to concentrate on her very expensive classes.

“My business is Alexis Vanessa Roberts. OK? She ain’t talking about ‘no free this, free that,’ because I tell you what ain’t free: Columbia. Do you all know that they got the nerve to want $68,000 a year?” he said.

The father then said that he was “busting his hump” so that his daughter could attend the university and graduate with a useless degree.

“All of that just so she can say she got a degree in African American studies. It’s like, little girl, you’ve been black your whole life. You know what it is,” he said.

The man then said it would still be worth it because of the upcoming graduation ceremony. When other parents on the panel pointed out that the university canceled their commencement ceremonies due to the aggressive protests, the father said that she would graduate no matter what.

“I don’t think you get it. Alexis Vanessa will be graduated, even if I gotta do it myself,” he said.
