Democrat Mayor of Muslim-Majority City Shocks Many w/ Trump Endorsement

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Democrat mayor of Michigan’s most Muslim-populated city has endorsed President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, delivering a major blow to Vice President Kamala Harris.

Hamtramck Mayor Ameer Ghalib announced his Trump endorsement on Facebook, calling him a “man of principles.”

The endorsement came after the two men met on Wednesday during a Trump campaign stop in Flint, Michigan.

“Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time,” Ghalib wrote.

“I will not regret my decision no matter what the outcome would be, and I’m ready to face the consequences,” the mayor added. “Now, let the Caravan begin its journey. This is just the starting point.”

Trump shared a screenshot of the endorsement on Truth Social on Sunday.

Ghalib told the Detroit Free Press that Trump had asked for the endorsement, later adding that he handed the former president “an official letter with some details about our concerns and to invite him to come to Hamtramck if possible.”

The mayor acknowledged Trump “knew a lot about me prior to the meeting.”

He added, “We talked about various topics including the debates, the polls updates, the statistics of votes in Michigan and Wayne county, the Arab American concerns and the Yemeni Americans in particular.”

Ghalib became the first Muslim mayor of Hamtramck after capturing 68 percent of the vote in November 2021. He ousted then-Mayor Karen Majewski. Hamtramck is widely regarded as having a Muslim-majority population.

Kamala Pal Fetterman Cowardly Dodges Fracking Question

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., seemed flustered when asked about Vice President Kamala Harris’s politically expedient claim she no longer supports banning fracking.

“It’s so strange why we just keep talking about fracking,” Fetterman remarked during a Sunday interview on NBC News’s Meet the Press with host Kristen Welker.

Welker had pressed him on why voters should trust Harris on fracking given her past flip-flops.

Shaking his head, the senator pushed back against Welker’s question, dismissing fracking as a non-defining issue for the November election.

“Now in 2024, we are still trying to talk about fracking. The other side has been talking about eating cats and geese and dogs and saying absurd things,” Fetterman added.

To her credit, Welker reminded Fetterman of his ever-changing stance on fracking: “In 2016, you called it a ‘stain’ on Pennsylvania. In 2018, you said you ‘don’t support fracking at all,’ but in 2022 you said you ‘absolutely support fracking.’”

Welker then bluntly asked, “Senator, what exactly do you like about fracking now?”

Fetterman sidestepped the question, boasting about his 2022 senatorial victory: “It’s strange for some weird gotcha taking quotes out of context, and here I am now, a United States senator, and I won by five points and a record margin, back in 2022.”

“I totally support fracking, so does Vice President Harris, and now if you want to have a serious conversation about policy, that I would challenge Trump and Vance to have one, other than talking about eating pets,” Fetterman added.

Welker reiterated, “What do you now like about fracking?”

Fetterman awkwardly dodged the question, bizarrely paraphrasing quotes from President Donald Trump.  “They’re eating dogs. They’re eating cats… You know. Again. So. Okay. Yes. Any more on fracking,” Fetterman said.

Cotton Masterfully Shuts Down CNN’s Baffling Questions on Trump’s Jewish Remarks

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., swiftly shut down CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s attempted gotcha question regarding President Donald Trump’s comments about Jewish Americans supporting the Democratic ticket in the 2024 election.

On the Sunday edition of CNN’s State of the Union, Tapper asked Cotton whether he agreed with Trump’s claims that if he were to lose the 2024 election, Jewish Americans would bear some of the blame.

In response, Cotton said that Trump had previously issued warnings about Jewish Americans supporting the Democratic Party despite its anti-Zionist and, at times, anti-Semitic sentiments.

“I think the only reason the Democrats latched onto it this week is that they see the polling that reflects Donald Trump winning record high amounts of Jewish voters for Republicans,” Cotton said.

The Arkansas senator then drew attention to the Biden-Harris administration’s anti-Israel sentiment, particularly since Hamas launched one of the deadliest attacks against Jewish individuals since the Holocaust.

“The point he’s been making all along is that any Jewish voter, Christian voter, or any other kind of voter who cares about Israel, who cares about her relationship with Israel should not vote for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden,” he added. “Joe Biden has not backed Israel very much over the last 11 months. Kamala Harris has been much worse.”

Later in the interview, Tapper pushed back against Cotton’s assertion that Harris has not condemned anti-Semitism in recent weeks, claiming that she is married to a Jewish man.

In response, Cotton quickly pointed out that Trump has Jewish grandchildren. “Jake, he’s the most pro-Israel president we’ve ever had. He has Jewish grandchildren,” the senator continued.

Tapper replied, “Kamala Harris has a Jewish husband, but that doesn’t mean anything to you.”

Shutting down Tapper’s baffling questions, Cotton shot back, “It means something to you because you brought it up.”

Chicago Gang Members Issue Dire Warning Over Venezuelans in Shocking Twist

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a twist no one saw coming, Chicago gang members are sounding alarms about the dangers posed by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, according to a New York Post interview.

Former gang leader Tyrone Muhammad, now head of Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change, didn’t mince words about foreign gangs wreaking havoc on Chicago’s South Side—blaming the Biden-Harris administration for the crisis.

“When the black gangs here get fed up with the illegalities and criminal activities of these migrants or non-citizens, the city of Chicago is going to go up in flames and there will be nothing the National Guard or the government can do about it when the bloodshed hits the streets. It’ll be blacks against migrants,” Muhammad said.

The interview, recorded last week and released on Sunday, took place on South King Drive, one of the most dangerous blocks in the city.

Muhammad also blasted the federal government for allowing illegal immigrants to flood what he suggested were marginalized Chicago communities.

“It is impossible to release gang members and criminals into our country through the borders and broken walls and infiltrate them in our community that’s already impoverished and broken,” Muhammad continued.

According to the Post, over 42,000 foreign nationals have poured into Chicago since 2022, just a year after President Joe Biden took office.

Many of these individuals are active members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang, linked to several high-profile crimes in Chicago’s South Side, which has been historically controlled by gangs such as the Gangster Disciples, Black P Stones to the Vice Lords, Latin Kings and Satan Disciples.

Chicago activist Terry Newsome, with the assistance of Muhammad, launched his own probe into criminal acts allegedly committed by the Venezuelan gang.

Standard Club, one of the shelters for foreign nationals, has seen up to 720 police incident reports in the past 12 months, Newsom told the Post.

Feds Seize Material from New York’s Interim Police Commissioner’s Home

(Headline USA) Federal authorities searched the homes of New York City‘s newly named interim police commissioner and seized materials unrelated to his police work, he said.

The unexplained and unexpected search comes as the administration of Mayor Eric Adams reels from other federal law enforcement investigations.

Thomas Donlon, who became the interim commissioner just one week ago after the resignation of his predecessor, issued a statement late Saturday through the police department.

“On Friday, September 20, federal authorities executed search warrants at my residences. They took materials that came into my possession approximately 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the New York City Police Department,” the statement said.

“This is not a department matter, and the department will not be commenting,” he added.

The statement did not address what the investigation was about, which federal authorities were involved or what materials had been seized.

Fabien Levy, the city’s deputy mayor for communications, said: “As we have repeatedly said, we expect all team members to fully comply with any law enforcement inquiry.”

Just a week ago, the previous police commissioner, Edward Caban, resigned after federal authorities seized his electronic devices as part of an investigation that also involved his brother, a former police officer.

Federal agents also have seized phones in recent weeks from the head of the city’s public schools, a top deputy mayor, Adams’ top public safety adviser and others. Previously, investigators searched homes connected to Adams’ top campaign fundraiser and the Democrat’s Asian affairs director.

Last autumn, federal agents also seized Adams’ phone as he left an event.

Charges have not been brought in connection with any of those searches, and it was unclear whether there was any connection to the search involving Donlon, who wasn’t part of the Adams administration until a few days ago.

An FBI spokesperson declined to comment. An email seeking comment from a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney in Manhattan was not immediately returned. A text sent to Adams’ top spokesperson late Saturday night also wasn’t immediately returned.

Donlon spent decades with the FBI, where he worked on terrorism cases including the investigation into the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and a 2000 attack on a U.S. Navy destroyer.

Roughly 20 years ago he was a top counterterrorism official for the FBI in New York.

From 2009 to 2010, Donlon led New York state’s Office of Homeland Security before going into the private sector security industry.

Adams appointed Donlon as his commissioner last week and he assumed the post on Sept. 13, one week ago Friday.

The choice of an outsider with a long career in federal law enforcement — but no history of working with the NYPD — appeared at the time to be a potentially stabilizing move for the police department after Caban’s resignation.

Caban and his brother, James Caban, who runs a nightlife security business, had both denied any wrongdoing through their lawyers.

Through it all, Adams, who is in his first term, has said he won’t be distracted by the investigations and will continue to serve the city.

New Law Seeks to Protect Kids from Social Media Addictions

(Headline USA) California will make it illegal for social media platforms to knowingly provide addictive feeds to children without parental consent beginning in 2027 under a new law Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Friday.

California follows New York state, which passed a law earlier this year allowing parents to block their kids from getting social media posts suggested by a platform’s algorithm. Utah has passed laws in recent years aimed at limiting children’s access to social media, but they have faced challenges in court.

The California law will take effect in a state home to some of the largest technology companies in the world. Similar proposals have failed to pass in recent years, but Newsom signed a first-in-the-nation law in 2022 barring online platforms from using users’ personal information in ways that could harm children. It is part of a growing push in states across the country to try to address the impacts of social media on the well-being of children.

“Every parent knows the harm social media addiction can inflict on their children — isolation from human contact, stress and anxiety, and endless hours wasted late into the night,” Newsom said in a statement. “With this bill, California is helping protect children and teenagers from purposely designed features that feed these destructive habits.”

The law bans platforms from sending notifications without permission from parents to minors between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., and between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays from September through May, when children are typically in school. The legislation also makes platforms set children’s accounts to private by default.

Opponents of the legislation say it could inadvertently prevent adults from accessing content if they cannot verify their age. Some argue it would threaten online privacy by making platforms collect more information on users.

The law defines an “addictive feed” as a website or app “in which multiple pieces of media generated or shared by users are, either concurrently or sequentially, recommended, selected, or prioritized for display to a user based, in whole or in part, on information provided by the user, or otherwise associated with the user or the user’s device,” with some exceptions.

The subject garnered renewed attention in June when U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called on Congress to require warning labels on social media platforms and their impacts on young people. Attorneys general in 42 states endorsed the plan in a letter sent to Congress last week.

State Sen. Nancy Skinner, a Democrat representing Berkeley who authored the California law, said after lawmakers approved the bill last month that “social media companies have designed their platforms to addict users, especially our kids.”

“With the passage of SB 976, the California Legislature has sent a clear message: When social media companies won’t act, it’s our responsibility to protect our kids,” she said in a statement.

Biden Administration Criticized for Obstructing Congressional Subpoenas

(Alan Wooten, The Center Square) – Lawfully issued congressional subpoenas are not subject to interference from the White House or its appointed leaders of departments, North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx said Friday.

The Republican bidding for an 11th term in the Beltway chastised Education Secretary Miguel Cardona for “repeatedly” trying to interfere with the work of the committee she leads in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Committee on Education & the Workforce has subpoenaed five student loan servicers, and Cardona’s department says it has legal authority to review and approve materials before they are sent to the committee, a release says.

Foxx writes in part to Cardona, “The department has repeatedly sought to interfere with the committee’s efforts to obtain documents and communications in a timely manner from the loan servicers. Not only has the department interfered with the committee’s ability to conduct oversight, but it has also failed to answer the committee’s prior inquiry of August 14, 2024, seeking information about the timing of the department’s regulation promoting additional student debt relief.”

According to the letter, Lisa Brown as legal counsel for the Education Department on Sept. 5 through a letter said the loan servicers’ response “must receive prior approval” from the contracting officer of the department. She cited a contract term. Foxx said contract terms do not “override Article I of the U.S. Constitution.”

Some documents have been received by the committee. Three conference calls have taken place between staff of the committee and staff of the Education Department.

On July 31, Foxx questioned the Biden administration emailing student loan borrowers to advise of debt relief. She wrote in a letter then, “To my knowledge, no administration – Democrat or Republican – has ever taken such an aberrant approach to the administration of federal student aid as auto-enrolling the public in a government program that does not yet exist.”

On Aug. 14, Cardona was asked by Foxx, “Will the department guarantee that any rule concerning student loan repayment or debt relief published in the Federal Register between now and the expiration of the president’s current term of office will not take effect before the statutory 30-day period has elapsed?”

On Aug. 29, the subpoenas went out to the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority, Nelnet Servicing, LLC, Maximus dba Aidvantage, Edfinancial Services and Central Research, Inc..

Foxx closed the letter writing, “This letter serves as a final warning – the department must release the loan servicers’ documents to the committee” by noon on Tuesday.

Top Democrat Donation Bundler ActBlue Faces House Scrutiny over Fraudulent Activity

(Casey Harper, The Center Square) A top Democratic donation processor, ActBlue, is facing an investigation over concerns that the donation processing service is being used to circumvent campaign finance laws.

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee launched the investigation, citing “reports of potentially fraudulent and illicit financial activity” in a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

The lawmakers ask Yellen for copies of financial suspicious activity reports related to ActBlue, which serves as an online catch-all processor for online donations to Democratic candidates.

“Recent reports have raised the specter of fraud and evasion of campaign finance law by individuals exploiting online contribution platforms, especially ActBlue,” the letter states. “For example, ActBlue had not implemented standard procedures to guard against identity theft and fraud such as requiring a Card Verification Value (CVV) to process online transactions until it received criticism for not doing so.”

It continues, “ActBlue is also being investigated by several states’ officials in relation to contributions allegedly made via the platform fraudulently without the reported contributor’s awareness.

“In Virginia, reports of contribution activity facilitated through the ActBlue platform included ‘some cases in which single donors made tens of thousands of separate donations worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.'”

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said in August that he was investigating reports of misuse of ActBlue after reports of “dummy” accounts being used to make thousands of donations, allegedly by criminal sources.

Donating in the name of someone else is illegal and can be used to circumvent oversight and caps on contributions.

“These bad actors could include foreign nationals not lawfully admitted for permanent residence who are prohibited by statute from contributing to campaigns or political parties,” the letter adds.

ActBlue did not respond to a request for comment.

“We can’t tolerate shady practices, foreign interference, and blatant exploitation of our campaign finance laws,” Rep. Nick Langworthy, R-N.Y., wrote on X.

“The American people deserve to know who’s really behind these contributions,” he added. “ActBlue has been funneling questionable donations into Democrat campaigns for far too long, raising serious concerns about fraud and illegal contribution…”

Since allegations of Russian involvement and voter fraud has escalated in recent federal elections, oversight and scrutiny of possible foreign interference in U.S. elections has increased for both Republicans and Democrats.

However, the Russia hoax, widely considered to be a canard used by the 2016 Clinton campaign to deflect from its own corrupt activities, may well be eclipsed by foreign influence to Democrats coming from other sources, such as China, Iran and Ukraine.

In fact, Clinton’s own brother, Tony Rodham, was enmeshed in a scandal alongside longtime Clinton donation bundler—and future Virginia governor—Terry McAuliffe, in which the two appeared to set up a shell company using government grants from the Obama administration’s green tax incentives that was instead used to trade foreign-worker visas to Chinese businessmen in return for donations.

The Clinton Foundation—which McAuliffe also ran for a time—was also investigated as being a source for laundering many illicit foreign donations and using Clinton’s role as secretary of State for influence peddling.

McAuliffe lost his re-election bid for the Virginia governorship to current Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican.

Kamala Begs for Debate Rematch… Trump Immediately Shuts It Down

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Donald Trump swiftly shut down Vice President Kamala Harri’s politically convenient wish for a second debate.

During a campaign rally in North Carolina on Saturday, Trump declared it “too late” for a second debate, noting that early voting has already begun in several states.

Trump’s comments came in response to Harris’s acceptance of a CNN invitation for an October 23 debate. This would have been the second time Trump faced the embattled vice president as both eye the White House.

“Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump,” claimed Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon in a statement. “Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate.”

Echoing O’Malley’s remarks, Harris implored Trump on X to accept the invitation, but Trump shut her down, citing her refusal to debate him on Fox News.

“She’s had her chance to do it with Fox, you know, Fox invited us on, and I waited and waited and they turned it down,” Trump told his supporters at the rally. “But now she wants to do a debate right before the election with CNN because she’s losing badly.”

During the same speech, Trump drew parallels between Harris and a desperate boxer.

“You know, it’s like a fighter. She sees the pulse. She sees what’s happening? She’s losing badly but it’s like a fighter who goes into the ring and gets knocked out and gets knocked out. The first thing he says is, ‘I want a rematch.’”

Trump has already debated twice—first with President Joe Biden in a CNN “bloodbath” that culminated with Biden quitting the Democratic ticket. The former president then agreed to debate Harris, who inherited the nomination, with ABC News, the notoriously leftist outlet.

During the debate—co-anchored by ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis—the anti-Trump bias was evident, with the anchors fact-checking Trump at least five times while allowing Harris to escape scrutiny over at least 25 falsehoods.

A study by the Media Research Center revealed that Muir’s coverage of Harris was a staggering 100% positive, while Trump’s coverage was strikingly 93% negative.

Janet Jackson Voices What Many Are Thinking About Kamala: ‘She’s Not Black’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Music legend Janet Jackson made Democrats clutch their pearls after affirming Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris is not Black, echoing mounting criticism over Harris’s tendency to adopt various personas depending on the situation.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian,” Jackson told Guardian reporter Nosheen Iqbal during an interview published on Saturday.

Jackson’s remarks quickly ignited outrage among the left and Democrats, who chastised Jackson for questioning Harris’s racial identity. The vice president, currently eyeing the White House, was born to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father.

“All Janet Jackson needs to know is Kamala Harris is blacker than Michael’s children,” one user quipped on X.

On the right, commentators mocked the legacy media for orchestrating what appeared to be a coordinated smear campaign against Jackson.

During the interview, Iqbal pressed Jackson on her claims, countering that Harris identifies as “both.”

In response, the music icon shot back, “Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

Iqbal, seemingly doing the left’s bidding, asserted that only “hardcore QAnon-adjacent, Trump-loving conspiracy theorists” raised questions about Harris’s identity.

“Harris has dual heritage, I say, and, given this moment, does Jackson think America is ready for her – if we agree she’s black? Or, OK, a woman of colour?” the reporter pressed.

To this, she replied, “I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t want to answer that because I really, truthfully, don’t know. I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem.”

When Harris first ran for public office as San Francisco District Attorney in 2003, the media emphasized her Indian heritage. Since stepping onto the national stage, however, Harris has often been described as a black woman.

Democrats argue that questioning Harris’s identity is steeped in racism.

Harris was born in California but spent her formative years in Canada with her Indian mother. She relocated to the U.S. to attend Howard University after living in a Canadian French-speaking city from ages 12 to 18, according to the liberal New York Times.
