(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden‘s soon-to-be Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, has raised concerns over those concerned with the Second Amendment, according to a Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) press release.
Jackson–a former clerk for Justice Stephen Breyer–who Biden nominated to replace retiring justice Breyer, has a long history of opposing Americans’ right to arm themselves.
SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb expressed his concern for the future of Americans’ right to bear arms.
“Just the endorsements Judge Jackson’s nomination is receiving should be enough to cause concern,” he said.
He also pointed to the fact that Michael Bloomberg, a famously anti-gun oligarch, supports Jackson.
“The nomination is being applauded by anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s gun prohibition lobbying groups including Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, and by the anti-gun Giffords Law Center and Brady group,” he said.
“There can be no stronger indication of where Judge Jackson stands on the individual right to keep and bear arms and how she might rule on Second Amendment issues.”
Of course, the second amendment will not be the only traditional American way in need of protection from someone like Jackson.
She has a long history of legislating from the bench, ignoring Constitutional limits on judicial power.
“The high court doesn’t need another liberal activist justice on the bench,” Gottlieb said, “especially where 2nd Amendment issues are concerned.”
“Since Joe Biden promised to make gender and ethnicity the deciding issues in his Supreme Court nominations,” Gottlieb stated, “we were hopeful his selection would be someone upon whom we could depend for at least some semblance of objectivity.”
