In response to the Biden regime’s decision to release illegal aliens into Yuma, Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., said Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot should “intercept these aliens and hold them in prison” until they can be “returned to their home countries.”
Gosar argued that Border Patrol’s plan “to release 50 illegal aliens every day into Yuma County” will cause “super-spreader events that will go off daily,” in a letter he sent to Wilmot and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey on Wednesday.
“I am asking that Sheriff Wilmot intercept these aliens and hold them in prison until they can be tested, quarantined, and then returned to their home countries,” Gosar wrote. “The general public of Arizona should not be subjected to this mass event that will spread infected aliens throughout the state.”
In response, Wilmot said he would not enforce America’s immigration laws and keep citizens safe but would instead defer to Biden’s illegal executive order.
“As Sheriff, I do not have the statutory authority to honor Congressman Gosar’s request to intercept aliens released into the community by the federal government who has given them documents giving them permission to be in this country,” Wilmot said.
Biden’s directive instructs Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol to release illegal aliens unless they threaten public safety or national security—even though every illegal alien threatens public safety by undermining America’s laws, KYMA/KECY reported.
Gosar said Arizona should pay for the arrest, detention and care of illegal aliens with “FEMA money” provided by the federal government.
“As a member of Congress, I have voted for trillions of dollars in COVID-19 relief,” he wrote. “This money is intended to prevent the transmission of the virus and having the Border Patrol release hordes of infected illegal aliens into our country is reckless and contrary to every law and protocol in place.”
