Blue States Suffering the Most from Biden’s Inflation

(Chris Parker, Headline USA) Soaring gas prices, inflation and supply chain shortages created by President Joe Biden’s policies are hitting blue states the hardest, putting renewed strain on his already plummeting poll numbers, reported Just The News.

Eight of the nine states boasting average gas prices over $5 are run by Democrat chief executives. Arizona and Alaska are the only two Republican states on the list, which includes Washington D.C., reported Just the News.

Democrat Gov. Jared Polis also declared a disaster emergency in Colorado over the state’s infant formula shortage. Colorado has also been hit hard with inflation, where local Denver restaurants are feeling the pain even as they continue struggling to recover from COVID-19 restrictions.

The traditionally far-Left state of California has been hit especially hard, leaving Democrats worried ahead of the midterm elections. Residents there were already struggling with a high cost of living before inflation and supply shortages.

Their concerns were exacerbated by an unexpectedly low turnout during the primaries.

There are even signs that Los Angeles, traditionally a leftist stronghold, could be voting more conservative. The city has been hit especially hard by inflation, crime and homelessness. The city also made national headlines after gas prices there recently hit a staggering $8 per gallon.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., proposed a suspension of the federal gas tax to help alleviate prices. However, he also proposed a new tax on the oil industry – a move that is likely to offset any savings from the federal gas tax suspension. Without the new tax, the suspension is only expected to lower gas prices by about 18-cents per gallon.

Half of Americans currently blame Democrats for soaring gas prices. Even more are unhappy with Biden’s handling of the war between Ukraine and Russia, an event that’s often cited as the reason for soaring prices and supply chain shortages.

Even members of the Biden administration are increasingly concerned, as his approval rating hits a historic low.
