Abortion is Key to Student Success says Biden’s Ed Secretary

'It's clear the Dobbs ruling has sown fear and confusion on our college campuses... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Biden administration Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said “students need access” to abortion to “thrive in school and in life,” and promised federal help in killing unborn babies.

Cardona spoke at a conference with President Joe Biden’s Task Force on Reproductive Health Care Access, which aims to defend and promote abortion, the Daily Wire reported. Cardona addressed the major obstacle to education—that students “cannot access abortion services.”

“…I share your grave concerns about maintaining access to contraception and reproductive health services on our college campuses and ensuring there’s accurate and reliable information for students and for educators,” Cardona told Biden.

Biden discussed the apparent difficulty that college students have with finding contraception on campus—a concern that seems wholly manufactured, since every corner store carries birth control and condoms.

But Biden believes colleges themselves must offer items and medicines that prevent conception.

“Folks, what century are we in? What are we doing? I respect everyone’s view on this, personal decisions they make, but my Lord, we’re talking about contraception here,” Biden said. “It shouldn’t be that controversial, but this is what it looks like when you start to take away the right of privacy.”

The pro-abortion task force met to push back against institutions like the University of Idaho that said it may stop offering birth control to comply with a 1970s state law.

Cardona said the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade has empowered colleges and universities to push back on hookup culture and the assault, rape and shame that come with it.

“Thank you also to Vice President Harris. In August, we met with college leaders grappling with new sweeping restrictions to their states,” he said. “Our work together is ongoing. It’s clear the Dobbs ruling has sown fear and confusion on our college campuses.”
