(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., admitted on Wednesday to only wearing a mask because of a “Republican tracker” who was filming her, the Daily Caller reported.
Tlaib was speaking to a group of people outside of a Detroit event with Marcia Fudge, secretary of Housing and Urban Development, when she made the admission.
A maskless man approaches and thanks Tlaib for attending.
Tlaib can be heard whispering something about a “mask.”
The man then apologizes for not masking and dons his own.
Pulling her mask down to speak, Tlaib assures him he’s not the problem.
“Oh, no, oh not you!” Tlaib explains.
“No, no, no—I’m just wearing it because I’ve got a Republican tracker here,” she adds.
After the video emerged, Tlaib faced criticism on Twitter, with many calling her actions hypocritical.
Tried and true response > “Republicans made me do it.”

This is not the first time Tlaib has been criticized for her inconsistency regarding mask mandates.
In August, she attended a wedding where a video was taken of her partying in a large crowd of maskless people.
Earlier that same day she rebuked Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s COVID-19 response:
The KY Senator is throwing a tantrum as his state is being swallowed whole by this virus, again.
People are getting sick and dying.
98 counties in Kentucky have a high incidence rate of COVID-19.
He needs to put politics aside, and put people first. Start resisting the virus. https://t.co/ZgfqVxN4KL pic.twitter.com/XmLIFvvR23
