(Headline USA) The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg warned Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas this week that he could be deemed a “quarter of a person” again if his conservative beliefs become reality.
Goldberg, responding to the court’s decision last week to strike down Roe v. Wade, complained that the country is moving backwards, and accused Thomas of being an “Uncle Tom” who is accelerating this regression.
“You better hope that nobody says, ‘You know, you’re not in the Constitution. You’re back to being a quarter of a person,’” she said.
She also claimed Thomas’s marriage could be at risk.
“You better hope that they don’t come for you, Clarence, and say you should not be married to your wife, who happens to be white,” she continued.
Goldberg went on to slam female governors who have not spoken out against the court’s ruling.
“[They] are sitting there talking about, you know, they want to be a voice for the silent,” she said. “Be a voice for the ones you can also see, and stop saying to people that this is a win for all women, because it’s not.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in with her own criticism of Thomas, who wrote in a concurring opinion that the court should also reconsider its rulings in Griswold and Obergefell, both of which rely upon an ahistorical “right to privacy.”
“Contraception is on the menu. Gay marriage is probably going to be overturned. Affirmative action is no more,” Hostin said. “[Clarence Thomas] is saying nothing is precedent anymore.”
