(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) According to numerous government documents reviewed by John Solomon of Just the News, the Biden White House assisted the National Archives, the Department of Justice and the FBI in the investigation of President Donald Trump’s removal of documents from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

In a May 10 letter to Trump’s attorney’s, acting National Archivist Debra Steidel Wall—who replaced the Trump-hating David Ferriero in April 2022—informed the former president that his “protective assertion of executive privilege” had been waived by President Joe Biden.
“The Counsel to the President has informed me that … President Biden defers to my determination … regarding whether or not I should uphold the former President’s purported ‘protective assertion of executive privilege,'” Wall wrote. “I have therefore decided not to honor the former President’s ‘protective’ claim of privilege.”
According to Solomon, in doing so, Biden eliminated “one of the legal defenses Trump might use to fight the FBI over access to his documents.”
Nonetheless, Trump’s lawyers cited executive privilege in a recent lawsuit filed against the Biden administration, which also argued the raid was a violation of his Fourth Amendment freedom from illegal search and seizure.
Just the News spoke to Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, who represented Trump during his first impeachment trial, regarding the legality of Biden’s move.
“The current president should not be able to waive the executive privilege of a predecessor, without the consent of the former president,” Dershowitz said. “Otherwise, [privilege] means nothing.”
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Just the News that the revelations were “amazing,” especially in light of the White House’s recent claims that it had no advance knowledge of and was not involved in the FBI’s Aug. 8 raid on Trump’s estate.
“Look, the left, they’ve been out to get President Trump because President Trump’s a threat to the clique, to the swamp, to the bureaucracy, to the deep state,” Jordan said. “And they all know it.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump ridiculed the White House’s claim that it knew nothing.
“The ‘White House’ just announced that it had NO KNOWLEDGE of the early morning RAID on Mar-a-Lago,” Trump wrote. “Does ANYBODY really believe that the White House didn’t know about this? WITCH HUNT!”
