(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A critic of the hit film Sound of Freedom has been linked to a group dedicated to rebranding pedophiles as “minor attracted persons,” WND reported.
According to the report, film critic Noah Berlatsky penned a July 15 review of the film for Bloomberg, noting that the film has been supported by the “far right” by way of its “stranger danger narrative.”
Calling the film’s popularity “ominous,” Berlatsky also suggested that its success in America is intimately tied to the “fascism” of many Americans.
Berlatsky, however, is a former public spokesman for the organization Prostasia, which is dedicated to teaching the public that pedophiles have been the victims of unfair “stigma” and should therefore be recast as “Minor Attracted Persons,” or MAPs, WND noted.
According to the Prostasia website, it is necessary to take a “holistic approach” to the “systemic problems” which cause MAPs to sexually assault children.
This can be done only by looking “at the lived experiences” of the child rapists in order to understand their deepest longings.
Berlatsky also penned an essay for the Prostasia website, wherein he claimed that child trafficking numbers are misleading because some children are trafficked voluntarily.
The essay, titled “Child Trafficking Narratives are Misleading,” argued that young people—especially LGBT youth—often enjoyed “trading sex” with older people.
He also noted that it was important to meet pedophiles “where they’re at” in order to help both them and the children involved in the “sex trade.”
Berlatsky also interviewed Mireille Miller–Young, a feminist professor, for Prostasia. In the conversation, Miller–Young discussed the “developing sexuality” of children while noting that it is important for young children to be exposed to pornography so they can contribute to “sexual politics” in the future.
Other reviewers who skewered the movie have also had to deny their pedophilia industry ties.

Glenn Kenny, a New York Times critic, for example, emphasized his opposition to pedophilia in a recent Tweet after much speculation following his negative Sound of Freedom review.
