(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, the Democratic senatorial candidate, has removed all allusions to Black Lives Matter from his campaign website as his chances of winning the upcoming midterm election wane, Fox News reported.
Among other issues listed on his new campaign page, Fetterman includes inflation, criminal justice reform, legalizing marijuana, renewable energy and immigration.
It marks a decidedly rightward shift for Fetterman, who once embraced radical socialism but now insists he is “just a Democrat.”
With his GOP rival, Mehmet Oz, quickly closing the gap in polls, Fetterman is trying in particular to downplay his alarming record of releasing violent criminals during the mass formation psychosis that followed the death of George Floyd.
Just over one month ago, however, his website read: “John served as mayor of a city that’s more than 80% Black, and has championed the idea that Black lives matter since long before it became a hashtag.”
The “Black Lives Matter” slogan—which doubles as the name of a Marxism-influenced activist group known for misappropriating millions of dollars in donations to accommodate the lavish lifestyles of its leaders—has now been scrubbed entirely from Fetterman’s page.
Fetterman spokesman Joe Calvello told Fox News that the website was simply updated, offering no real answer to the inquiry.
“The one section you seem to be referencing was removed when we updated and greatly expanded our issues page weeks ago,” Calvello said in a statement. “Voters deserve to know where we stand, and we’re proud that we spell out our platform clearly on our website.”
Interestingly, Fetterman was involved in a 2013 incident in which he chased a black man down in his pick up and held him hostage with a shotgun until law enforcement arrived.
“He was a white man with a gun chasing a black man,” Fawn Walker–Montgomery, a former city council member near Fetterman’s hometown said.
“I used to be on the council in McKeesport, and if I chased after a person with a gun, I would still be in jail,” she continued. “He’s showing he’s not aware of his white privilege.”
