‘Daily Show’ Host Who Celebrated Trump Indictment Overvalued Home by 829%

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A famous leftist and The Daily Show host Jon Stewart faced backlash online for his hypocrisy after it was discovered that he overvalued his property, even though he previously criticized Donald Trump for allegedly doing the same thing.

On March 25, 2024, Stewart, 61, talked about Trump’s $454 million appeal bond, calling him a liar for inflating his property values, something that Trump never did, according to the New York Post.

“The attorney general of New York knew that Trump’s property values were inflated because when it came time to pay taxes, Trump undervalued the very same properties. It was all part of a very specific real estate practice known as lying,” Stewart said.

However, it didn’t take long for people online to look into Stewart’s own property history, which revealed that he overvalued his New York City penthouse by a staggering 829%.

According to the records, Stewart sold his 6,280-square-foot Tribeca duplex to financier Parag Pande for $17.5 million back in 2014. The news source reported that the property’s asking price at that time was not available in listing records.

However, the Post obtained assessor records from 2013 and 2014, which revealed that the property had an estimated market-value of only $1.882 million, with the actual assessor valuation being even lower, at $847,174.

In addition to that, records showed that Stewart paid significantly lower property taxes, which were calculated based on that assessor valuation price — one of the other things that Stewart called Trump out for doing in his March 25, 2024, monologue.

According to the Real Deal, Pande, the person who bought the penthouse from Stewart, then resold it at a nearly 26% loss — at just over $13 million — back in 2021.

Tim Pool of Timcast IRL criticized Stewart for his hypocrisy.

“Did @jonstewart commit fraud when he sold his penthouse for $17.5M? NY listed its market value at $1.8M an AV at around 800k… Who did he defraud?? I am SHOCKED,” he wrote.

EXCLUSIVE: Maricopa Co. Official Addresses Victory in Kari Lake Defamation Suit

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Stephen Richer, the Maricopa County election official who was vilified by many of his own party members following allegations of irregularities in Arizona’s 2022 election, was ready to clear his good name after winning a defamation lawsuit Wednesday against former GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

In an exclusive email to Headline USA, Richer—an elected Republican—dispelled the longstanding allegations that he had overseen a political-action committee funded by Democrats and working to undermine Lake’s campaign while also serving as the county election recorder.

“I have no connection to any PAC that did anything opposing Kari Lake or supporting any of her opponents,” he wrote.

The statement appeared to contradict earlier reports, such as a 2021 interview with the Arizona Mirror, in which Richer proudly boasted of his affiliation with the Pro-Democracy Republicans of Arizona.

According to a press release cited by that article, the PAC’s purpose was to “acknowledge the validity of the 2020 election and condemn the events of January 6, 2021 as a terrible result of the lies told about the November election.”

Richer is also listed as a payee on the PAC’s 2022 campaign finance report and is listed as its top overall contributor for the 2024 election cycle.

The group’s top contributor for the 2022 election cycle, Francis Najafi, gave $20,000 to Richer’s PAC, as well as $85,000 to ActBlue Arizona and another $85,000 to the Arizona Democratic Party. He also gave $5,300 to Lake’s Democratic rival in the gubernatorial election, then-Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Lake, who is currently running for the U.S. Senate seat of retiring incumbent Kyrsten Sinema, opted not to defend herself in Richer’s lawsuit, instead pleading “no contest” to her culpability while expressing her intent to do legal battle over the damages, NBC News reported.

In a post on LinkedIn, Richer took a victory lap and expressed his hope for a hefty judgment in his favor.

“It was all a lie,” he wrote. “She was lying about me. But she was lying to you.”

Lake, however, still plans to challenge the notion that Richer suffered material damages or harm as the result of the imputations against his character, including a demand for the disclosure of any medical or psychiatric records showing he sought treatment in the aftermath of the media feeding frenzy.

The lawsuit contends that “Richer and his family have been the target of threats of violence, and even death, and have had their lives turned upside down” due to Lake’s “knowing and malicious falsehoods.”

It specifically mentions Lake’s false allegations that Richer intentionally misprinted ballots on Election Day, “so that the tabulators would jam all day long.”

The resulting chaos, which happened disproportionately in Republican-heavy districts, led to long lines and many voters attempting to vote at districts other than their assigned ones.

Consequently, many of the ballots wound up as provisional ballots, leading to extreme tabulation delays and questions about the chain of custody.

Hobbs, the top Democrat official responsible for overseeing elections at the state level, narrowly prevailed over Lake after the final tallies were released, with Maricopa’s numbers giving the George-Soros-backed Hobbs the edge.

In addition to Richer, Board of Supervisors Chair Jack Sellers (no relation to the author) and other elected Republicans on the board were accused of being RINO plants who had colluded with Hobbs to secure the outcome in her favor.

In his email to Headline USA, Richer said the GOP’s gravitation toward a Trumpist anti-establishmentism and distrust of bureaucracy had not shaken his own party loyalty and core belief in conservative principles.

“I am a proud Republican,” he said. “I support free markets, limited government, law enforcement, rule of law, family values, deregulation, and a strong America.”

Headline USA reached out to Lake’s campaign and will update with any response.

Daughter of NYC Judge Merchan Posts Pic of Trump in Jail a Day after Gag Order

(Headline USA) A Twitter account appearing to belong to the daughter of New York Judge Juan Merchan showed a photo illustration of an imprisoned Donald Trump as its profile picture Wednesday morning. It was later changed.

Loren Merchan’s consulting firm had linked to that same account in a previous social media post, appearing to validate the account’s authenticity.

Trump did not link to the purported photo, but slammed the judge on Truth Social for hypocritically imposing a gag order ahead of his April 15 trial, suggesting his daughter’s partisan activism was indicative of a conflict of interests, much as Democrats have attempted to claim about Ginni Thomas, the wife of conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

“So, let me get this straight,” Trump wrote, “the Judge’s daughter is allowed to post pictures of her ‘dream’ of putting me in jail … but I am not allowed to talk about the attacks against me, and the Lunatics trying to destroy my life and prevent me from winning the 2024 Presidential Election, which I am dominating?”

“Maybe the Judge is such a hater because his daughter makes money by working to ‘Get Trump’ and when he rules against me over and over again, he is making her company, and her, richer and richer,” Trump continued. “How can this be allowed?”

Merchan’s daughter, whose firm has worked on campaigns for President Joe Biden and other Democrats. It currently lists among its clients Vice President Kamala Harris and Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

Juan Merchan also has been linked to previous donations to Democrat causes and candidates but thus far has refused to recuse himself from the case.

Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, posted that the gag order issued Tuesday was “illegal, un-American, unConstitutional.”

He said Judge Merchan was “wrongfully attempting to deprive me of my First Amendment Right to speak out against the Weaponization of Law Enforcement” by Democratic rivals and urged him to step aside from the case.

The gag order, which was requested by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, bars Trump from either making or directing other people to make public statements on his behalf about jurors and potential witnesses in the trial.

That includes his lawyer turned nemesis Michael Cohen and porn star Stormy Daniels. It also prohibits any statements meant to interfere with or harass the court’s staff, prosecution team or their families.

It does not bar comments about Merchan or his family, nor does it prohibit criticism of  Bragg, the George-Soros-backed Democrat whose office is prosecuting Trump.

Trump’s three-part Truth Social post was his first reaction to the gag order. In it, he again reupped his call for Merchan to recuse himself due to the conflicts of interest that both he and his daughter have made evident.

“The Judge has to recuse himself immediately, and right the wrong committed by not doing so last year,” Trump wrote Wednesday. “If the Biased and Conflicted Judge is allowed to stay on this Sham ‘Case,’ it will be another sad example of our Country becoming a Banana Republic, not the America we used to know and love.”

The criticism echoed arguments his lawyers made last year, when Merchan was first assigned to the case and his Democrat ties quickly became apparent.

Merchan insisted then that a state court ethics panel found that Loren Merchan’s work had no bearing on his impartiality.

The judge claimed in a ruling last September that he was certain of his “ability to be fair and impartial” and that Trump’s lawyers had “failed to demonstrate that there exists concrete, or even realistic reasons for recusal to be appropriate, much less required on these grounds.”

In a recent interview, Merchan told the Associated Press, that he and his staff were working diligently to prepare for the historic first trial of a former president.

“There’s no agenda here,” Merchan claimed. “We want to follow the law. We want justice to be done.”

‘Secret’ Police Report Warns of Impending Economic Collapse in Canada

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) As Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and other officials continue to insist that the U.S. economy is booming, America’s neighbors to the north are apparently prepping for a deep recession that could lead to civil unrest.

According to the Canadian newspaper National Post, a heavily redacted “secret” police report has been released, warning an impending spike in “popular resentment” due to its dim economic situation.

“The coming period of recession will … accelerate the decline in living standards that the younger generations have already witnessed compared to earlier generations,” said the Royal Canadian Mounted Police report, entitled Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends for Canada, which was reportedly made public via an access to information request filed by a university professor.

“For example, many Canadians under 35 are unlikely ever to be able to buy a place to live. The fallout from this decline in living standards will be exacerbated by the fact that the difference between the extremes of wealth is greater now in developed countries than it has been at any time in several generations,” the report added.

“In the words of Emanuel Macron, we are about to see ‘the end of abundance.'”

The report also warned of the dangers of climate change, and the continued erosion of trust in public institutions, which stems from Canada’s draconian COVID-19 policies. And just like many federal government agencies in the U.S., the RCMP expressed concern about the specter of “disinformation.”

“Law enforcement should expect continuing social and political polarization fueled by misinformation campaigns and an increasing mistrust for all democratic institutions,” the report stated.

The National Post noted the irony that the RCMP lamented a lack of public trust while redacting much of the report—including the section on “erosion of trust.”

The newspaper also cited some dismal economic statistics to validate the RCMP’s expressed concerns.

Canadian productivity — measured in terms of GDP per capita — has been trending downwards since at least the 1980s. But this has accelerated dramatically in recent years — even as per-worker productivity rises in many of our peer countries,” the National Post reported.

“Meanwhile, housing affordability has reached “worst-ever” levels in most of Canada’s major markets … On average, even condos are now so unaffordable that only 44.5 per cent of Canadian households had sufficient income to buy one at current prices. As for single-family homes, only the richest 25 per cent of Canadian households had any hope of obtaining one.”

Federal Reserve Refuses to Provide Records of Foreign Gold Holdings

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Weeks after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell evaded a sitting congressman’s questions about the central bank’s foreign gold holdings, the Fed has also declined to comply with a Freedom of Information Act request for records about such holdings.

The Federal Reserve’s lack of transparency comes amidst reports that countries are removing their gold and other assets from the U.S. in the wake of the unprecedented Western sanctions imposed on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. According to a 2023 Invesco survey, a “substantial percentage” of central banks expressed concern about how the U.S. and its allies froze nearly half of Russia’s $650 billion gold and forex reserves.

Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., asked Powell about the matter in a December letter, only to have the Fed chair respond last month with evasive non-answers, telling him that the Federal Reserve does not own gold but holds it as a custodian for other entities—a fact that the congressman presumably already knew.

Following Powell’s evasive response, Headline USA filed a FOIA request with the Fed for records reflecting how much gold the Federal Reserve Bank of New York currently holds in its vault, as well as records reflecting the ownership stake that each of FRBNY’s central bank/government clients have in that gold. The FOIA request also sought records about the Fed’s gold holdings prior to Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

However, the Federal Reserve denied the FOIA request on Wednesday.

“Board staff consulted with staff at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (‘Reserve Bank’) and have been advised that such records, if they exist, would be Reserve Bank records, and consequently, not subject to the Board’s Rules Regarding Availability of Information,” the Fed said.

The Federal Reserve said that this publication could take its request to the New York Fed. However, that institution isn’t subject to FOIA.

Headline USA is working on an appeal.

Meanwhile, sound-money advocates are blasting the Fed’s lack of transparency.

“They’re just passing the buck to the New York Fed. The FRB could obtain the data from the New York Fed if it wanted to, and then could share it with you if it wanted to. The Fed chairman has already essentially told Representative Mooney that the Fed doesn’t want to disclose the information,” said Chris Powell, secretary-treasurer of the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee.

“If only other news organizations dared to ask such relevant questions about the secret operations of the Federal Reserve System,” he said.

Stefan Gleason, CEO of Money Metals Exchange, a large online precious metals dealer and depository based in Idaho, expressed similar sentiments.

“The Fed doesn’t want anyone to know that foreign governments and other central banks are yanking their gold from America’s shores because it would reveal the folly of U.S. monetary and foreign policy,” he said.

Eric Adams Defends Giving Illegals Pre-Paid Credit Cards

(Headline USA) New York City Mayor Eric Adams defended the city’s new policy of giving pre-paid credit cards to illegal immigrants, claiming it would be fraud resistant.

The pilot program, which started this week, will provide 10 families with debit cards that they can use for food, groceries and baby supplies. Officials then plan to scale it up to 115 families, or about 450 individuals. The families will be able to use $350 a week from the cards.

Asked whether the program sends a “mixed message” to illegals since New York has also tried to stop more immigrants from traveling to the city, Adams claimed, “It sends a mixed message when it’s distorted.”

Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy also pushed back on concerns that the program would be abused, according to Politico.

“There is no free money,” he claimed. “These are not ATM cards. You can’t take cash out.”

Deputy Mayor Anne Williams–Isom, however, sounded more skeptical. “We can take a look at it after six weeks and see what’s working and what’s not,” she said.

New York officials argued that the rules within the pilot program placed strict expectations on the recipients and their behavior. The prepaid cards may only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores, they said.

Those eligible for the program must sign an affidavit stating they will only spend the funds on food and baby supplies, or else they could lose access to the funds.

A city hall spokesperson claimed in a statement that the program had already been a success.

“A large part of our success is due to our constant work to find new ways to better serve the hundreds of individuals and families arriving every single day, as well as the longtime New Yorkers experiencing homelessness who are already in our care,” the spokesperson claimed. “That is why we are excited to launch an innovative, cost-saving pilot program with Mobility Capital Finance to distribute pre-paid cards to migrant families to purchase only food and baby supplies.”

Some—including former President Donald Trump—have speculated that Adams’s sudden pivot from opposing the Biden administration’s open-border policies to being fully on board with them might have something to do with the federal investigation that was launched into allegations of illicit campaign finance involving foreign entities.

Promptly following some of Adams’s most searing criticism of the Democrat president last November, the FBI seized several of Adams’s personal electronic devices for forensic investigation.

It subsequently raided the home of one of his top aides, Winnie Greco, who was subsequently rushed to the hospital under mysterious circumstances.

Judge Reviewing Nashville Trans Mass Shooter’s Manifesto for Potential Release

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) In the latest development in the effort to make trangender Nashville mass shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto public, U.S. District Judge Aleta Trauger has ordered the FBI to provide her with a copy of document to review whether it should be released.

Judge Trauger’s March 14 order was in response to the FBI’s attempt to dismiss a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by local media to obtain the manifesto. The FBI has argued that it needs to keep the manifesto secret due to ongoing investigations, including into whether there were others involved in helping Hale prep for the shooting.

Judge Trauger also ordered the lawsuit to be paused while she reviews the manifesto for its potential release. She did not indicate when she’ll make a decision on whether to release the document.

The first three pages the purported manifesto were leaked to conservative broadcaster Steven Crowder last November. The Nashville Police Department reportedly suspended seven detectives over the leak.

The portion of the manifesto that was leaked purportedly revealed Hale had been planning the school shooting for years, and that she deliberately targeted “white privileged” “cr*****s” and “f****ts.”

“Can’t believe I’m doing this but I’m ready… I hope my victims aren’t,” Hale wrote. “My only fear is if anything goes wrong. I’ll do my best to prevent any of the sort. God let my wrath take over my anxiety. It might be 10 minutes tops. It might be 3-7. It’s gonna go quick. I hope I have a high death count. Ready to die.”

Hale, a 28-year-old woman who was identifying as a man at the time of the mass shooting, gunned down three Christian children and three adults in March before being killed by law enforcement. In the subsequent investigation, officials discovered the manifesto in Hale’s apartment.

Public interest and concern over what drove the trans mass shooter’s rage has led to intensified calls for the release of the manifesto, which reportedly reveals in chilling details what Hale had planned.

“What I was told is, her manifesto was a blueprint on total destruction, and it was so, so detailed at the level of what she had planned,” Metro Nashville Council Member Courtney Johnston previously told the New York Post. “That document in the wrong person’s hands would be astronomically dangerous.”

Fixing FDR’s Biggest Blunder: From Gold Standard to Fiat Folly and Back

(Jp Cortez, Sound Money Defense League) Today, states across the country are beginning to actively embrace pro-sound money legislation, inviting a critical examination of how America abandoned the gold standard of money and racked up $34.5 trillion in debt. To understand how we got here, it’s important to understand the policy that initiated our monetary decline.

91 years ago, on April 5th, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 6102, forever reshaping America’s monetary system.

This controversial order marked a pivotal moment in the nation’s financial history. EO 6102 banned private ownership of gold coins, bullion, and gold certificates with the penalty for noncompliance being up to ten years in prison, a fine of $10,000, or both. This draconian edict also signaled the effective end of the gold standard.

America did not always have unbacked, paper money. In fact, America’s founders spilled a lot of ink warning against the risks and ravages of fiat currencies.

In 1786, George Washington wrote to Thomas Jefferson, “Paper money has had the effect in your state that it will ever have, to ruin commerce, oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice.”

James Madison wrote that “paper money is unjust” and “unconstitutional.”

To enshrine honest money, they considered gold and silver the foundation. Gold and silver are notably the only form of money mentioned in the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 10).

“No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts.”

The Coinage Act of 1792 established the U.S. Mint and regulated the coinage of gold, silver, and copper coins. The dollar was defined in terms of a specific weight of silver or gold, providing a tangible link between the currency and precious metals.

Under the gold standard, the U.S. dollar was directly convertible to a fixed amount of gold. This system provided stability and confidence in the currency, as the value of money could not be printed ad nauseam, but was tied to a tangible and finite resource.

As the nation expanded and industrialized, the gold standard emerged as a cornerstone of America’s economic might, and the gold-backed U.S. dollar would eventually become the world’s reserve currency.

The gold standard buttressed the Gilded Age of the 19th and early 20th centuries, providing a necessary, if not sufficient, condition to unseen leaps forward in economic stability, international trade, and human prosperity.

In response to the economic turmoil of the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt banned private ownership of gold with Executive Order 6102, marking an important nail in the coffin of the gold standard in the United States.

In 1933, Congress passed the Gold Reserve Act, which granted the President the power to further manipulate America’s currency by adjusting the gold content of the dollar. Subsequently, President Roosevelt devalued the U.S. dollar by increasing the price of gold.

In 1934, the Gold Reserve Act allowed the government to hold gold at a higher price, effectively devaluing the dollar and further detaching it from its gold-backed origins.

Towards the end of WWII, a new international monetary system was created at an international conference in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire in 1944, pegging major currencies to the U.S. dollar, which remained convertible to gold.

However, mounting economic pressures and trade imbalances eventually led to the “temporary” abandonment of the gold standard in 1971 under President Richard Nixon.

Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.

Today’s Federal Reserve Note is printed endlessly and spent haphazardly, unshackled from any restraint. As a consequence, the national debt is now growing at a rate of $1 trillion about every 100 days.

According to economist Michael Bordo, the gold standard provided long-term stability, evidenced by an average annual inflation rate of .1 percent between 1880 and 1914, compared to the average inflation rate of 4.1 percent from 1946 to 2003.

The abandonment of sound money principles allowed for unprecedented government spending, particularly during times of war. With the ability to print fiat currency unconstrained by the discipline of a gold standard, the government financed World War II and subsequent conflicts through inflationary measures.

The government’s ability to print endlessly has enabled endless war.

This unchecked power to create currency out of nothing has not only led to an expansion of the national debt but also facilitated increased expansion of controversial and fiscally unsustainable policies, such as the literal Ponzi scheme that is America’s entitlement programs.

Restoring sound money is an uphill battle, but significant victories are being won across the country.

In 2023, the Sound Money Defense League effectively helped pass sound money legislation in Tennessee, Mississippi, Oregon, Arkansas, and Florida.

So far in 2024, Governors in Utah and Wisconsin have signed pro-sound money legislation into law. Other sound money legislation has already been introduced and advanced in Oklahoma,  New Jersey, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, Georgia, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia.

April 5th, 1933 may be a somber chapter in American history, but there is a brighter future ahead.

Today, states themselves are actively engaged in the pursuit of sound money, and its underlying principles of freedom, stability, and fiscal responsibility for a more prosperous tomorrow.

SELLERS: MAGA Journos Bum-Rush Media Gatekeepers Like ‘Newcomers’ at the Border

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) A few weeks ago, I had an interesting exchange on LinkedIn after posting a job listing via the site’s JournalismJobs.com job board for an opening (qualified candidates only, please) with a certain “conservative political news site.”

It stands to reason that this would be the logical place for such a post, but several other members of the group were triggered enough that they felt compelled to denounce the listing as antithetical to the principles of journalism.

One was a freelance writer for Runner’s World magazine. Another was a golf reporter at somewhere equally irrelevant. One, a “gaming editor” who lived in Portland—which is probably a euphemism for “paid Antifa rabble-rouser who also posts reviews on Reddit.” And then there was a retired news-desk editor for our local paper of record, the Charlotte Observer, who insisted that no “self-respecting” journalist would dare apply to such a job and it was little wonder it hadn’t gotten filled yet.

I won’t go through the entire, deeply satisfying, way I tore this last cyberbullying jackass to shreds. Suffice it to say, data from the Federal Election Commission revealed that he had made more than 1,000 donations to the leftist site ActBlue and other Democrat causes. Game over.

After pointing out that his entire career as an “objective” journalist had been a sham, though, I told him I was nonetheless inspired by his words of wisdom to follow suit. Henceforth, like the Charlotte Observer, the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN and Fox News, Headline USA would declare itself to be entirely neutral and nonpartisan.

This new way of self-identifying wouldn’t change our coverage at all—we would still continue to seek the truth, and to call balls and strikes as we saw them from our particular vantage point—which is, in a way, designed to balance out the warped perspectives at publications like the Observer.

But we would change semantically how we refered to ourselves, I assured him, and we would become wholly sanctimonious should any upstarts who didn’t know how the game was played dare to acknowledge any political leanings or biases they might have.

Still, I wondered why the ad I had listed would provoke such a vicious (albeit ill-fated) attempt to shame me off the platform—especially from someone who fancied himself so tolerant of all points of view.

I could only imagine that such tactics had been effective for this slimeball many a time while pretenting to mentor young journalists.

His M.O.: play the “objectivity” card universally, but always enforce it selectively. A statement sympathetic to conservatives was opinion (and an ignorant, wrongheaded one, at that, I am sure he’d mutter within earshot), while one expressing the equal and opposite view for a radical Marxist—well, that was just good, honest journalism giving voice to the voiceless or some garbage.

THE CHUCK-WAGON EFFECT

Those who have spent years building up this “objectivity” myth and profiting off it not only have lost all sense of self-awareness, they also are deeply threatened by the prospect that anyone whose viewpoint might challenge theirs should get to play the information “gatekeeper.”

I was reminded of this phenomenon yet again on Sunday, after seeing ex-Meet the Press host Chuck Todd attempt a similar style of media lynch-mob on ex-Republican National Committee chair Ronna Romney McDaniel.

The fact is, the melodramatic news cycle spawned by Todd’s attack matters very little to those outside the mainstream media’s ivory tower.

Undoubtedly, McDaniel will be fine wherever she may land—as a lobbyist, consultant or working the motivational speaking circuit. Heck, even George Santos seems to have found gainful means of sustenance via the celebrity greeting platform Cameo, where personalized videos from the disgraced ex-lawmaker costs $350 a pop.

Todd’s meltdown, however, said far more about himself—and, more broadly, about the insular, out-of-touch, self-aggrandizing system that has normalized him as one of its leading professional voices—than it did about Romney.

Indeed, Politico and others quickly set about to give it the spin treatment. Todd “put a glaring spotlight on one of the fundamental flaws embedded in the modern news ecosystem, and cable news in particular: the toxic revolving door between political operatives and mainstream media,” wrote senior media columnist Jack Shafer in a recent colum titled “Why Chuck Todd’s Scorcher Against NBC Matters.”

Much of what followed was an awkward apologia for all of the prior examples in which the leftist media establishment had violated the very ground rules that Todd was laying out as his new red line.

Predictably, it missed the entire point.

Thus, I hereby submit my open response, which I shared already in email form to Shafer, Todd, Meet the Press host Kristen Welker and NBC News President Rebecca Blumenstein. (The attempt to include McDaniel’s NBC email address bounced back…)

WHY CHUCK TODD’S DIATRIBE MATTERS

Chuck Todd’s diatribe provides clear confirmation, as if any more were needed, of his own bias, hypocrisy, and unwillingness to respect anything but his notoriously extremist views. Hint: If you consider yourself to be the second coming of Tim Russert, yet you find yourself in the company of Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Rachel Maddow, you’re doing it wrong.

But of course, the rest of the leftist media echo chamber is following lockstep, including Politico, the publication where Glenn Thrush once got busted for asking the Clinton campaign to fact-check his article drafts. Surprise, surprise.

Let’s be perfectly clear on something: Chuck Todd and all the like have pushed a litany of partisan lies that severely undermined democracy and brought us to the point at which we now find ourselves. Like the boy who cried wolf, they have nobody but themselves to blame for any loss of credibility.

The 2016 attacks on election integrity (in concert, no less, with corrupt intelligence agencies) were the prelude to the 2020 skepticism. And it is pure, unadulterated gaslighting to deny and invalidate the suspicions many have about the irregularities (all well documented and not up for debate) resulting from several blue-state governors brazenly flouting their own election laws in plain sight while colluding inappropriately with outside parties like Mark Zuckerberg to sway the outcome, as acknowledged by Molly Ball’s infamous Time article.

Did they break the law? We don’t know because it wasn’t properly investigated. In case after case, it was instead dismissed on the basis of a lack of standing or other technicalities. Evidence was destroyed before anyone could review it, and those who tried, curiously, found themselves the targets of lawfare attacks.

If the Left and the media had openly recognized these concerns instead of scrambling to push the Big Cover-Up Lie, then perhaps we could all have moved forward accordingly in a civil manner. There would never have been a Jan. 6 uprising, where hundreds of dissidents followed the leftist model of disruption, sometimes violent, in order to exercise their First Amendment rights to voice their disapproval—at least for a few fleeting hours, until one of them was shot in cold blood and President Trump instructed everyone to go home.

Instead, here we have Chuck Todd, the balding, washed-up little weasel, still terrified to allow a dissenting perspective who could (gasp) present the evidence that will expose him as the lying blowhard that he is.

If Chuck Todd were sincerely an election-irregularity denier because of some condition he had that made him clinically blind to the evidence, then that would be on him, but of course we know because of his inconsistency—like that of his many leftist colleagues—in calling out the Democrat party for its flagrant abuses, that when he does so in screaming hysterics at the first sign of a Republican in-kind response, it is nothing more than a steaming pile of BS.

The vast majority of the American public, fortunately, is fully inoculated and immune to this nonsense and sees right through it to the point that performative displays like the one on Sunday are pure comedy.

The irony of all of this is the fact that the leftist media is choosing as its proverbial hill to die on (at least in terms of its credibility and financial-viability) the niece of Mitt Romney. MAGA is literally laughing its asses off at the Trump Derangement Syndrome present over a woman who everyone on the Right assumed was on the verge of making a Michael Steele-style pivot and showing that her election failures during the last several cycles were not by accident.

Feel free to stand behind Ms. McDaniel or kick her to the curb—it’s all the same to Republicans. As long as the clown Chuck Todd is still there, blighting and sullying the Peacock’s good name, no overtures at presenting ideological balance will ever ring persuasive in my ears.

Mexican National Allegedly Murders Woman in Drunken Carjacking Attempt

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An undocumented immigrant from Mexico has been apprehended for the murder of a 25-year-old Michigan woman in what reports depict as a drunken carjacking incident.

According to Fox17 Michigan, Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a 25-year-old Mexican national previously deported, stands accused of fatally shooting Mavi Garcia, whom he reportedly knew.

Following an altercation last week, Ortiz-Vite allegedly fired multiple shots at Garcia before forcibly taking possession of her vehicle, leaving her lifeless body by the side of a Michigan road. According to ABC 13, the illegal alien ran over Garcia’s body before leaving the scene. Her remains were discovered around 11:40 p.m

Notably, Ortiz-Vite had been apprehended in August 2020 on an unrelated matter but failed to appear for the scheduled hearing, which pertained to two misdemeanor driving offenses. ICE detained him the day before and subsequently deported him on September 24, 2020. However, he managed to re-enter the U.S.

“Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a 25-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Detroit on Aug. 31, 2020, and served a notice to appear,” an ICE spokesperson told Fox17.

“He was ordered removed by an immigration judge with the Justice Department’s Executive Office of Immigration Review Sept. 24, 2020, and was removed to Mexico Sept. 29, 2020,” the spokesperson added.

According to Fox17, the pair had been involved in a romantic relationship and had arranged to meet before the tragic event allegedly instigated by Ortiz-Vite.

The man is facing one count each for homicide, open murder, carjacking, felony firearm, operating while intoxicated, driving on a suspended or revoked license.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered on Saturday.

During subsequent interrogations, Ortiz-Vite confessed to law enforcement officials that he had shot at Garcia multiple times following an argument.

He asserted that Garcia was seated in the driver’s seat when he discharged the firearm, and he purportedly fired again assuming she was still alive after exiting the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, Ortiz-Vite removed the body from the car and abandoned it beside the highway.

A fundraiser for Garcia’s funeral has raised nearly $16,000.
