EXCLUSIVE: MLK’s Niece Reflects on Trump Assassination Attempt, Readiness to Serve

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) Like many Americans, Alveda King was shocked to hear the news that President Donald Trump had been the victim of an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pa., on July 13.

King, who runs her own Atlanta-based ministry and chairs the Center for the American Dream at the Trump-affiliated America First Policy Institute, issued a public statement calling on the nation to “commit itself to prayer, forgiveness, nonviolence and unity.”

However, as the niece of Martin Luther King Jr., the 73-year-old pro-life activist said the political attack also resonated on a deeply personal level, in an exclusive phone interview Friday with Headline USA.

She said she heard the news about Trump while riding on a bus with other women returning from an event. At first, she didn’t believe it was true.

The shock, however, also flooded her with memories of her uncle’s 1968 assassination in Memphis, Tenn.—as well as other personal tragedies that she endured in the tumultuous years that followed.

As the the nation grieved its civil rights heroes, King privately grieved the loss of several close family members.

She was 17 years old when her uncle died. At 18, her own father, the Rev. A.D. King, was found dead in his backyard swimming pool. Although the cause was listed as accidental drowning, his daughter remains convinced there was foul play involved.

“My dad had been choked and thrown in the swimming pool,” King said. “… So I remember those moments, and I remember praying for the man who took his life.”

When King was 23 years old, her grandmother, Alberta Williams King, was shot and killed inside the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church by a radical Black Hebrew Israelite who had targeted her for her Christian faith and symbolic importance to the civil-rights movement.

Once again, King’s initial reaction was to turn her anger into prayer, and she preached for others to do the same.

She recalled being a trained youth organizer for the civil-rights movement in the ’60s, when the political climate was filled with tension and rife with acts of political violence—including the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Malcolm X.

When asked if the United States was potentially heading into a similar time of instability and what could be done to prevent it, she responded that we must pray, saying that she always “prays for the seat,” regardless of who happens to be sitting in it.

King, who once served as a Democrat in the Georgia legislature before losing a hotly contested primary to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, now focuses more on her Christian values than her political ones.

She said she believed that President Joe Biden wanted to bring unity to America but had failed to do so.

“I really believe President Biden, like every other president who has ever been elected to the United States of America, and any politician—as I was elected to office twice myself, had many victories and many disappointments—I would like to believe he had desired to be a unifying President,” King said

As the current chair of the AFPI’s Center for the American Dream, King’s mission is focused on promoting “two-parent households, parental rights, hospital price transparency, fighting retail theft, educational freedom, occupational license reform, and small business success,” according to its website.

Additionally, King is a fervent advocate for protecting unborn children, having accused institutions such as Planned Parenthood of discriminately targeting African–American communities and profiting from the deaths of African–American babies.

In 2018, King was nominated by Trump to be a member of the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Commission, which sought to honor the 200th anniversary of the great abolitionist leader’s birth.

Previous to that, she served under President George W. Bush. If Trump is re-elected, King said she would be ready to serve in whatever capacity is needed.

“I’m available to serve God and to serve America,” King said. “If I’m told there’s a need for me, I’d be happy to serve.”

Central Planning, Hubris, and a Lesson from 1953

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Don’t worry. It’s fine. The Federal Reserve has everything under control. This seems to be the prevailing attitude in the marketplace.

Sure, the Fed lost control of price inflation for a while, but that wasn’t really its fault. It was due to supply chain issues, greedy corporations, and Putin’s price hikes.

And regardless, the Fed hiked rates and killed the inflation dragon. Now we can look forward to a return to easy money and a nice soft landing.

But should we really put so much faith in monetary central planning by a handful of men and women at the Federal Reserve? After all, they don’t have a crystal ball. And if we scrutinize their past projections, we find their accuracy – shall we say – lacking. In fact, it almost feels like the Fed is running monetary policy based on speculation and wild guesses.

And yet the mainstream investment world treats central bankers as if they were demigods handing down wisdom from on high.

An interview with financial analyst Jim Grant on Fox Business got me thinking about how much faith people put in central planning.

Maybe they shouldn’t.

A Lesson from 1953

In a recent article published in his newsletter, Grant warned us about trying to predict the future.

“Assumptions are harmless as long as the assuming party doesn’t confuse them with foreknowledge. The future is a phenomenon both strange and wonderous, though it doesn’t exist unless we reckon with it.”

He jumped off from this bit of wisdom during the interview, warning us to be careful lest we become victims of hubris.

He pointed out that if you invest, you are in the “future business,” and we must somehow envision a thing that does not exist.

The same is true for central bankers and government policymakers. They’re trying to get monetary and fiscal policy “just right” to achieve a desired future outcome.

And therein lies the hubris trap.

Grant noted that if you get a couple of calls right, you’re walking down the street feeling pretty good.

“You’re likely to think you’re getting a word from on high, and this has happened to every successful investor.”

On the contrary, when you miss a few, “You feel as if you were somehow shut out from that same source of futurity.”

But Grant reminded us that we always have to remember, “The future don’t exist!”

“It’s important to recognize that, as humbling as humbling as that realization is.”

It seems like central planners forget this. They become so wrapped up in their own sense of intelligence and wisdom that they begin to imagine that they can control the world. Just listen to Jerome Powell talk. You hear a certain level of certainty wrapped in hubris when he speaks about the future.

It’s true that as investors or policymakers, we must grope around and somehow imagine and conceive the outlines of that future. But it’s important that they do so with humility.

Grant said one way to better grasp the future is to understand the past. With that in mind, he wrote, “The more you know about 1953, the greater your understanding of 2024.”

Looking back, the mindset of officials that year contrasts sharply with the attitude with which most policymakers approach things today.

It was the first year of President Dwight Eisenhower’s administration. The GOP came into power intent on balancing the budget and restoring the dollar to gold convertibility.

If only, right?

Of course, the administration didn’t achieve those goals. But I find it striking that it was even a stated policy.

Grant does too.

“What is so striking to me in reviewing this particular chapter of the past is that the Federal Reserve – we had one even then – it was bound and determined not to get in the way of the market for short-term loans. It was bound and determined to … drop this command of the past dozen years or so ending in 1951 to fix the yield curve, to manipulate interest rates.”

Eisenhower appointed William McChesney Martin as the Federal Reserve chairman. The new Fed chair gave an inspiring speech lauding the free market saying fixed interest rates are fixed prices along with economic dysfunction elsewhere, and “they are not a part of our institutions.”

Imagine that! A central banker with humility recognizing that he wasn’t capable of micromanaging the economy.

Fast forward to today. As Grant put it, “The Fed can’t keep its hands off our markets and interest rates.”

No matter how good the storyline the Fed writes, things are never going to go according to the script. Unfortunately, hubris blinds people to their fallibility. They begin to believe their poo doesn’t stink.

After crashing the economy in 2008, the powers that be managed to pin the blame on “deregulation” and “greed,” as the Fed launched unprecedented intervention into the financial markets. It printed nearly $4 trillion and injected it into the economy while simultaneously artificially holding interest rates at zero for nearly a decade. When the bubble economy created by this policy started to lose air, the pandemic bailed the Fed out, giving it an excuse to double down on this extraordinary monetary policy.

Today, everybody has a false sense of security. I think most people sincerely believe the central bankers at the Fed and the central planners in Washington D.C. have everything under control. Things have basically been fine for almost two decades (the pandemic notwithstanding).

Grant summed it up perfectly.

“I think one of the consequences of the Fed’s manipulation of rates and manipulation of expectations lo these many, many years, is that the constructive fear of things going bad is almost conditioned out of the marketplace.”

I’m reminded of the story of Icarus. As you may recall, he and his father Daedalus were imprisoned on the island of Crete.

To escape, Daedalus crafted wings of feathers and wax. Before flying to freedom, Daedalus warned his son not to fly too high lest the heat of the sun melt the wax. But Icarus forgot his father’s warning. Excited by the thrill of flying, he rose higher and higher. Ultimately, he flew too close to the sun, melting the wax in the wings.

Because of his hubris, Icarus fell into the sea and drowned.

BREAKING: Secret Service Director Resigns after Disastrous Hearing

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project reported Tuesday that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is stepping down a day after her disastrous performance at a congressional hearing into the assassination attempt against presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

“Secret Service Director Cheatle is stepping down. She just emailed the work force,” the Oversight Project said on Twitter/X.

Numerous other media outlets and elected representatives confirmed the report minutes later.

There had been rumors of Cheatle’s impending resignation over the weekend, but on Monday she told lawmakers she intended to remain as director to ensure “integrity” of the ongoing investigation into the security failures at the July 13 rally.

But after the House Oversight Committee hearing, Chairmain James Comer, R-Ky., and ranking member Jamie Raskin, D-Md., signed a joint letter demanding Cheatle’s resignation.

The bipartisan call for Cheatle’s resignation came immediately after she failed to answer the simplest of questions at Monday’s hearing, including how alleged shooter Thomas Crooks was able to access the rooftop within 200 yards of Donald Trump during his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Cheatle also couldn’t provide a timeline of events for Congress.

“Today, you failed to provide answers to basic questions regarding that stunning operational failure and to reassure the American people that the Secret Service has learned its lessons and begun to correct its systemic blunders and failures,” Comer and Raskin said.

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-SC, went a step farther, calling for Cheatle’s impeachment.

Cheatle’s reported resignation may not end her public headache. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is pushing to charge her with perjury.

“Director Cheatle gave conflicting answers today regarding whether or not they were aware of a threat before shots were fired at President Trump. After today’s transcripts confirm her deception, I call for perjury charges against Kimberly Cheatle,” Luna said Monday.

To Luna’s point, Headline USA also spotted inconsistent answers by Cheatle.

When Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., asked her whether the rooftop used by the Trump shooter was identified as a security threat before the event, Cheatle said she didn’t know. But when asked the same question later by Rep. Tim Burchett, R-SC, she said that it was identified as a security threat.

New Excuse Made for Lack of Security on Trump Rally Rooftop: It Was Too Hot

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A whistleblower has given a new excuse for why law enforcement wasn’t stationed on the rooftop where Thomas Crooks allegedly shot at Donald Trump during his July 13 campaign rally: It was too hot.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., revealed this new excuse Monday in a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“Contrary to [Secret Service] Director [Kimberly] Cheatle’s public statements about the ‘safety’ of the sloped roof of American Glass Building 6, one whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service planning for the event alleges that there was supposed to be a local law enforcement presence on the roof that day,” Hawley told Mayorkas.

“In fact, the whistleblower alleges that at least one individual was specifically assigned to the roof for the duration of the rally, but this person abandoned his or her post due to the hot weather. The whistleblower further alleges that concerns over the heat prompted law enforcement to forego patrolling Building 6 and instead to station security personnel inside the building.”

As Hawley referenced in his letter, the whistleblower’s disclosure contradicts Cheatle’s earlier claim that the Secret Service kept law enforcement off of the building because of its “sloped roof.”

The whistleblower also may implicate local law enforcement in the security failures that nearly led to the death of Trump—and did lead to the death of a firefighter and the hospitalization of at least two others. Cheatle told Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., at a congressional hearing Monday that it was local law enforcement stationed inside the building used by Crooks to fire at the Trump rally.

Burchett asked Cheatle how no one inside the building heard Crooks moving on the roof, which was made of tin. Cheatle said she doesn’t have those details yet.

Hawley’s letter to Mayorkas seeks more information about the rooftop fiasco.

“If the whistleblower’s allegations are accurate, when did the individual abandon the post? Which law enforcement units were assigned to the roof? Please provide all security plans indicating which units were assigned to the roof and the building,” Hawley asked Mayorkas, telling him to respond by Friday.

“Did any law enforcement personnel fail to report to their assigned stations that day?”

FBI Told Sen. Hawley to Leave Site of Trump Assassination Attempt

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said Friday that the FBI told him to leave last week when he visited the site where Donald Trump was nearly assassinated.

“The FBI has got more security on that site now than the night Trump was shot at. They’re trying to control the information. They tried to kick me off of the site. They said get out of here, you should be on the site, we don’t want you here,” Hawley told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Friday.

“I’m there on site, I have permission from local security operator. The FBI said, ‘You have got to leave.’”

Hawley apparently wasn’t totally blocked from examining the crime scene. On Saturday, he posted a video of him speaking in front of the rooftop from where the alleged shooter fired at Trump.

“It’s no wonder people could see him because this roof is low and the building is close in. It’s totally exposed. So it’s no wonder lots of folks saw him. The question is: Why didn’t law enforcement see him get on the roof? Why didn’t they see him on the roof? Why didn’t they confront him before he started shooting?” he said.

While Hawley may not have been totally prevented from examining the scene of the assassination attempt, his story conjured the memory of a time when the FBI did entirely block the site of the Oklahoma City bombing. Specifically, he may have had knowledge about others involved in the bombing, or he may have known about explosives inside the building that was attacked.

In that case, the FBI prevented local cop and first responder Terry Yeakey from returning to the scene in the days after the April 19, 1995, domestic terrorist attack. CNN reported on this event last year.

“We did go down there, probably between 9:30, 10:00, and he said that we were going to go look underneath where the daycare had been. There was something he wanted to see over there and get a picture, if possible,” said Yeakey’s widow, Tonia Rivera Yeakey, as quoted by CNN.

“As we went down there, we were stopped and I can’t remember which personnel it was, but I know definitely it was either ATF or FBI … And Terry had attempted to badge his way through, and the guy told him no … And he said something a little more specific, like, you know, ‘You’re not supposed to be back down here,’” she said.

“(It) made me realize the two of them recognized each other and the interaction was very antagonistic. I think had I not been with Terry, he would have said a little more to the man and maybe been a little more forceful about getting through. But it seemed like he thought better about it since I was with him. And we left.”

Yeakey would be found dead in a field under highly suspicious circumstances in May 1996. His widow and others believe he was murdered for what he knew about the Oklahoma City bombing.

His widow recounted the time he was blocked from the OKC bomb scene again when hearing Hawley’s similar story.

“This echoes what I said about going to the OKC bombing site with Terry and the hostility that was displayed towards him by the FBI/ATF. This man had just saved lives out of the building but was a loathed figure hours later,” she said.

India Slashes Import Tax on Gold and Silver

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Today, India slashed its import tax on gold and silver, a move that could further boost demand for both precious metals in the world’s second-biggest gold market and support higher prices globally.

The move will cut taxes on gold and silver imports by more than half, lowering duties from 15 percent to 6 percent.

India will also lower the import tax on platinum to 6.4 percent.

Government officials hope that lowering the import duty will put a damper on rampant gold smuggling.

India Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the goal was to “enhance domestic value addition in gold and precious metal jewelry in the country.”

World Gold Council Indian operations CEO Sachin Jain told Reuters the tax cut is “a massive step in the right direction.”

“It will reduce the incentives for smuggling of gold. It will create a level playing field for honest industry stakeholders.”

Vignaharta Gold founder and chairman Mahendra Luniya told the Economic Times of India that lowering the import duty could provide “a significant boost” for the gold industry.

“Lower prices could drive higher consumer demand and increased demand would lead to higher sales volumes, ultimately benefiting companies dealing in gold through improved topline and bottomline performance.”

The price of gold in rupee terms fell 6 percent after the announcement, the lowest level in three months.

Gold was up about $14 in overseas trading after officials announced the tax cut.

Even with the high import taxes, Indian gold demand has been strong. Through the first five months of 2024, gold imports into India increased by 26 percent year-on-year, with 230 tons of gold flowing into the country. This is despite record-high prices.

Even before the tax cut, a recent note by Australia’s ANZ Bank made the case that Indian gold demand could help extend the current gold rally and push the price of gold to $2,500 and beyond.

Indian gold company MMTC-PAMP CEO and managing director Vikas Singh told the Economic Times “Gold in India is more than just a precious metal,” and the tax cut will be welcomed around the country.

“Indian consumers have an emotional connection with the yellow metal, the significance of which comes to the fore on special occasions. Given this cultural context, today’s development in the union budget of a reduction in duty on gold to 6 percent is a welcome move, one which is expected to drive down retail price of the metal. This in turn is expected to set off a virtuous cycle of increased consumption and contribute substantially to the exchequer and facilitate the growth of India as a precious metals hub.”

Indians have historically had an affinity for gold. Indian households own an estimated 25,000 tons of gold, and that likely understates the amount given the large black market in the country. Gold is deeply interwoven into the country’s marriage ceremonies and cultural rituals. Indians have long valued the yellow metal as a store of wealth, especially in poorer rural regions. Around two-thirds of India’s gold demand comes from beyond the urban centers, where large numbers of people operate outside the tax system.

Gold isn’t considered a luxury in India. Even poor Indians buy gold. According to a 2018 ICE 360 survey, one in every two households in India had purchased gold within the last five years. Overall, 87 percent of Indian households own some gold. Even households at the lowest income levels in India hold some of the yellow metal. According to the survey, more than 75 percent of families in the bottom 10 percent of income managed to buy some gold.

The yellow metal was a lifeline for Indians buffeted by the economic storm caused by the government’s response to COVID-19. After the Indian government locked down the country, banks tightened credit to mitigate the default risk. Unable to secure traditional loans, Indians used gold to secure financing. As Indians endured a second wave of lockdowns, many Indians resorted to selling gold outright to make ends meet.

Biden Reported to Be Gravely Ill, If Not Dead Already

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) After more than a day elapsed without compelling proof of life from President Joe Biden, and with various hints from the White House that he may be in deteriorating condition, some have begun to speculate that the president may not survive.

It comes after reports that the illness first claimed to be COVID-19 in Las Vegas was likely more serious.

On the Wednesday of the medical emergency, Biden was in a Mexican restaurant when “all hell broke loose,” according to The Dossier.

“Far from a case of the sniffles, this was sent out on encrypted police airwaves as if something akin to a five-alarm fire had broken out,” it said.

Biden initially had been set to go to the hospital before he was instead transferred to Air Force One for the flight back to Delaware, where he has reportedly been convalescing ever since, for nearly a week.

On Sunday, he unexpectedly dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, although many noted that the letter he posted to X was not on official letterhead and it did not appear to be his signature.

Joe Biden’s younger brother Frank indicated that health factors were among the reasons for the 81-year-old’s decision not to continue his run for president and told CBS News, “Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time we has left.”

In addition, the White House cleared the president’s schedule indefinitely, and it even appeared to transfer some of his responsibilities to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to Real America’s Voice, the Federal Aviation Administration also issued no-flyover orders for Delaware, an indication that an emergency flight back to Washington, D.C. may be necessary.

The recent episode follows an earlier episode during which Biden reportedly had a panic attack that led to elevated heart rate and blood pressure while on a return flight from Air Force One after a fundraising trip in Michigan.

Although Biden’s mental state has long been deteriorating, it seems likely that Hunter Biden’s felony conviction, along with the prospect of losing the presidential election and the pressures of having to reap the consequences of his own actions, may have set in motion the most recent downward spiral.

Many had long predicted Biden would bow out of the presidential race, but what came as a shock was how long he insisted on staying in it, flouting the behest of other party leaders following his disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump.

On the other hand, some may begin to speculate whether those same party leaders and members of the Deep State are behind Biden’s conveniently timed health crisis, which eliminates their greatest political thorn at just the right moment and allows them to appropriate the period of national mourning into their campaign strategy to draw media the momentum away from the Trump campaign.

Kamala Lays Eyes on David Plouffe, Architect of Zuckerberg’s 2020 Scheme

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign could soon hire David Plouffe, a former Obama advisor and accused mastermind behind Mark Zuckerberg’s meddling in the 2020 election.

Plouffe played a major role in the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the entity behind Zuckerberg’s $400 million used to fund the 2020 election. Politico reported that he may join a growing list of consultants at the Harris campaign.

Plouffe was a senior advisor to former President Barack Obama from 2011 to 2013, after managing his 2008 campaign.

Fueling the controversy around Plouffe was his pre-pandemic book, A Citizen’s Guide to Beating Donald Trump, in which he viciously advocated for get-out-the-vote efforts in cities like Detroit, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

In 2020, Zuckerberg donated $400 million to the non-profit Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), which in turn issued grants to several districts and counties. The funds were purported to safeguard election infrastructure, including ballot drop boxes and COVID-19 gear.

In 2022, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the Wisconsin Elections Commission violated the law by unilaterally ordering the use of ballot boxes. In 2024, the same court, with a liberal majority, overturned its ruling.

Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline questioned whether Zuckerberg’s funds were used to sway the election in favor of Biden. Similarly, then-Wisconsin Special Counsel Michael Gableman accused Plouffe in 2022 of leading Zuckerberg’s efforts of “electing Joe Biden president and defeating then-President Trump.”

Gableman’s investigation was ultimately halted following infighting fueled by Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who had approved the investigation.

Despite these setbacks, several states enacted legislation barring or limiting Zuckerberg’s funds, infamously known as “Zuck Bucks.”

To date, a total of 28 states has enacted restrictions on “Zuck Bucks,” including key swing states like Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Twelve counties have similar restrictions, according to the Capital Research Center.

These limits likely prompted Zuckerberg to claim that his election funding was a “one-time” act. Plouffe has consistently denied allegations of voter fraud, instead conveniently framing voter suppression as a major threat to democracy. He has also been active on social media, frequently criticizing Trump.

DC Gulag Denies House Demand for Video of Pepper-Spray Attack on J6 Prisoner

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The District of Columbia (DOC) Department of Corrections has refused a demand from the House Judiciary Committee for bodycam footage, security video and medical records related to the abuse of power that happened in September 2022 after a jail guard used pepper spray to attack detainee Ronald Colton McAbee who participated in the peaceful protest at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Blaze Media reported that the refusal letter from the DOC deputy general counsel is the latest information regarding the war waged in 2023 by Rep. Troy Nehls, R–Texas, to obtain and make public a video showing the attack.

The letter indicated that the Judiciary Committee headed by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, would issue a subpoena to compel the release of the materials, according to the news source.

In a July 15, 2024, response to Jordan, Nehls and Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., the DOC deputy counsel, Andrew Mazzuchelli, stated that, due to privacy issues and security of the jail, the surveillance video and bodycam footage that the Judiciary Committee demanded would be denied.

“The footage requested depicts schematic layouts, points of entry and exit, and arguably the most safety-sensitive aspect of all, the locations of security cameras in that unit. The primary mission of the DOC is to ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, and the facility as a whole. Releasing the requested footage presents significant risks that could compromise this mission,” he wrote.

Sarah McAbee, wife of Colton MacAbee, responded to the recent news by saying that the DOC letter offered only “flimsy excuses” not to release the evidence of abuse.

“I am deeply disappointed by the D.C. Department of Corrections’ continued stonewalling of congressional members, offering flimsy excuses for not releasing critical evidence. If there were nothing to hide, this information would have been made public long ago,” she said.

‘F*** Your Baby!’: Black Woman Shoots Infant in Philly

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Recent video footage showed how a black woman shot a seven-month-old infant in Philadelphia, shouting, “F—k your baby!” as the child’s mother screamed in horror.

According to police who are searching for the suspect, the unidentified boy was sitting in a stroller in the northeast section of the city when the attacker opened fire on his parents — striking the tot in the leg on July 18, 2024.

Footage that the Philadelphia Police Department released showed the attacker strolling past the mother and child and then casually turning and firing at them from point-blank range.

“My baby!” the infant’s mom screamed after the baby cried out.

As expected, a person who decided to shoot at a baby responded with, “F—ck your baby, b-tch!”

A police source told NBC Philadelphia that, after shooting at the family, the black woman then walked away, leaving the infant behind.

Other reports indicated that the woman also turned and fired at the child’s father after he chased her.

WPVI-TV reported that after cops arrived, the parents were not at the scene. It was a random stranger who was good enough to take and bring the baby to the hospital.

“We’re very lucky that 7-month-old boy is in stable condition,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

After that, police questioned the child’s parents, who did not live in the neighborhood and were found a few blocks from the shooting location by the police officers.

“It took us about an hour to locate the mother and the father, who we have now,” Small said.

The New York Post reported that the black woman was described as heavy-set, black, with long dreadlocks, and wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Anyone with information about the shooting, which was started on the 4000 block of Meridian Street in Holmesburg at around 5:50 p.m., should contact police at 215-686-TIPS, according to the news source.
