Ex-Rep. Says Trump Special Counsel Out for Revenge: ‘Comey’s Hitman’

'That’s James Comey’s revenge... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former U.S. Representative Rick Renzi claimed in a recent interview that Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is handling the case of former President Donald Trump for the Department of Justice, is out for revenge against Trump, Breitbart reported.

Renzi, who has undergone his own trials leading to a 36-month prison sentence for dubious financial dealings, told conservative radio host Mark Levin that Smith has close ties to former prosecutor David Harboch, who had overseen prosecutors in his own personal case.

Harboch, according to Renzi, has worked with Smith on several occasions, in particular his most visible cases, such as the conviction of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, which was later overturned by the Supreme Court.

Harboch also has ties to former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by Trump, triggering the infamous Russia collusion hoax.

According to the former congressman, Smith then is functioning as James Comey’s hit man as he attempts to get revenge on Trump.

“James Comey’s hit man is the guy speaking in the Miami courtroom to Judge [Aileen] Cannon,” he said. “That’s James Comey’s revenge.”

Trump’s attorney, John Lauro, has gone so far as to call Smith “the Jim Comey of 2024,” later adding that “I’ve never heard of anyone get[ting] indicted for asking for an audit.”

Aside from Harboch and Comey, Smith also has ties with Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder, which reportedly gives him access to Barack Obama‘s circle of allies.

In Smith’s own account of his actions, however, he claimed to oppose Trump simply because Smith supports the rule of law.

“We have one set of laws in this country and they apply to everyone,” Smith claimed, ignoring the fact that he has so far failed to prosecute Hilary Clinton, President Joe Biden, or his degenerate son, Hunter Biden.
