Ex-Obama Adviser Floats Idea of Congress Regulating Social Media Algorithms

'Everyone has a role to play here. Democrats have to be more aggressive... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former White House communications director for the Obama administration, Dan Pfeiffer, appeared on MSNBC to promote the regulation of social media in order to secure the domination of the leftist mainstream media.

Pfeiffer appeared on the MSNBC show “Morning Joe” to explain his latest censorship ideas, RedState reported.

According to the Obama-era bureaucrat, the dangerous right-wing media is very well funded, and does little but spread lies.

“That is the problem in this country is that we have a very well funded, very aggressive operation that is spreading these lies for profits and political gain, and it is incredibly dangerous,” he said.

Unfortunately for the establishment, he noted, the right-wing media gains power daily, which is “a problem for democracy.”

“The problem around this is getting worse every single day,” Pfeiffer said. “The right-wing media advantage is so much more powerful.”

Pfeiffer also suggested that the Democrats have to rethink their media strategy by adopting what Repulblicans have done.

“Everyone has a role to play here. Democrats have to be more aggressive,” he said.

“We have to invest in building up our own megaphone to compete with Republicans.”

Part of his plan includes “invest[ing] in progressive outlets,” as well as using the state to tell “the social media companies” that they “have an obligation to do more.”

According to Pfeiffer, the federal government must prepare to regulate and censor speech, especially on social media.

“So this is where Congress and the regulators have to step in to think about how we regulate these algorithms that are pushing this disinformation for profit.”
