Ex-CIA Analyst Says Putin Likely Staged Wagner Coup as False Flag

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Ex-CIA Analyst Rebekah Koffler told Fox News on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin likely staged the Wagner Coup as a false flag operation.

Putin, according to this analysis, wants the west to believe that he is weak and ineffectual, and that his own people do not trust him, the Daily Mail reported. He allowed Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhi–an old Putin friend–to leave Ukraine and begin advancing his army towards Moscow. But before the offensive could materialize, it was called off, and the troops returned to Ukraine.

Prigohzi has reportedly fled to Belarus.

Koffler told Fox News anchor Eric Shawn that Putin’s move was meant to “gain momentum, mobilize additional personnel, and re-energize his offensive on Ukraine.” She also noted that the sudden change indicates that things were likely staged.

“So again, what has changed from this in the last few hours? All of a sudden he decided to turn his troops around and made this deal? No, this is all staged,” Koffler said. “Putin wants us to believe that he’s weak, that there’s an ongoing threat of a military insurrection.”

She also noted that it would allow Putin to seize further powers in Russia. He has already enacted martial law, and plans to imprison those who do not comply for 30 days.

According to Koffler, Putin also “authorized that men with a criminal record can join the military.”

Koffler explained that the criminal pass, “is a justification for extra mobilization of the Russian forces to send them to the meat grinder in Ukraine. It is also to demonstrate to President Biden that, no, Russia is not a threat.”

Unfortunately for those eager to see Russia’s decline, Koffler suggested there is really nothing to the news.

“But this is all a classic distraction and classic Putin,” she concluded.

Some have also floated the theory that the corporate press is using the Russia story, among others, to keep the Hunter Biden revelations out of the headlines.
