BLM Releases New List of Demands, Including Banning Trump from Office, Social Media

'We cannot reform an institution built upon white supremacy...'

The Black Lives Matter organization released a new list of demands this week, including a call for former president Donald Trump to be permanently banned from holding political office and from using social media.

The first of BLM’s seven new demands says Trump must be “immediately convicted in the United States Senate” and “banned from holding elected office in the future.”

The second demand calls for more than half of Republicans to be expelled from Congress because they “stoked Trump’s conspiracy theories and encouraged the white supremacists to take action to overturn the election.”

These congressmen should also be barred from seeking another office, BLM argued.

The third demand calls for an investigation into the Capitol Police, law enforcement and the US military to determine whether there are any ties to white-supremacist organizations.

A fourth demand says Trump must be permanently banned from all digital-media platforms, and the fifth demand says police departments nationwide must be defunded.

The sixth demand encourages Democrats to vote against the Democrat-sponsored Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021, which will be used to “target black and brown communities for heightened surveillance,” BLM said.

“We don’t need new domestic terror laws, facial recognition, or any other new police power for the state,” the organization added. “Our government should protect righteous protest and stay focused on the real issue: rooting out white supremacy.”

Lastly, BLM demanded that Democrats pass the BREATHE Act, a criminal-justice overhaul that would severely limit law-enforcement’s ability to respond to certain situations.

This legislation is necessary because “police were born out of slave patrols,” BLM claimed

“We cannot reform an institution built upon white supremacy,” it added.

The list ends with a call for supporters to sign their names to the demands.

BLM is facing backlash from its own activists after it was discovered that Patrisse Khan-Cullors, one of the organization’s co-founders and a self-proclaimed Marxist, spent millions of dollars on luxury homes in some of the nation’s wealthiest neighborhoods.
