(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Factions of President Joe Biden’s Medical Tyranny Board, restless after being sidelined during a lull in COVID regulations and restrictions, have started a renewed push to regain their authoritarian clout.
Because some indicators have suggested that COVID-19 cases are increasing, the Biden administration’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday warned that some areas of the country should resume enforcing mandates for indoor masking.
“We urge local leaders to encourage use of prevention strategies like masks in public indoor settings and increasing access to testing and treatment,” said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.
The good doctor then conceded that a COVID spike could depend on myriad contributing factors, including how much protection previous infections might provide against new variants.
And there will be a surge of new variants, health officials predicted, which could trigger a new round of mandates.
COVID response coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha admonished that one-third of Americans now live in areas deemed “high-risk,” meaning they should wear masks inside.
Jha earlier this month forebode that “as we get to the fall, we are all going to have a lot more vulnerability to a virus that has a lot more immune escape than even it does today and certainly than it did six months ago.”
“That leaves a lot of us vulnerable,” he said.
Indeed, COVID Czar Anthony Fauci recently cautioned that his biomedical security state must “be able to pivot and go back to any degree of mitigation that is commensurate with what the situation is.”
While Walensky was promoting a return for mask mandates, the Department of Health and Human Services quietly extended, again, the nation’s COVID-19 public-health emergency status.
Republicans in Congress have been trying without success for months to convince the Biden administration to let the emergency order expire.
In a letter to Biden regime officials earlier this year, GOP leaders encouraged the administration to “accept that COVID-19 is endemic, recognize that current heavy-handed government interventions are doing more harm than good, and immediately begin the process by which we unwind the (emergency order) so our country can get back to normal.”
The Science, weaponized politically by authoritarian leftists for just such an occasion, declined.
The emergency declaration, which has now been in place for nearly three years, will be extended through at least mid-July, reported Bloomberg.
The Biden regime is extending the order, along with pushing for more mandates, as it tries to extort another $22.5 billion in COVID cash.
“To heal, we must remember,” Biden wrote in a proclamation remembering the “one million American lives lost to COVID-19, even as virus infections and hospitalizations have mostly stabilized nationwide
“We must remain vigilant against this pandemic and do everything we can to save as many lives as possible.”
And if that necessitates spending another $23 billion, reinstating COVID mandates and locking down the country in time to enforce wholesale mail-in voting so leftists can steal the midterms, so be it.
