(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) A group of Republicans in Congress signed a letter to Stephen Gardner, president of Amtrak, expressing concern that the Biden administration is using the train system to transport illegal aliens into the United States.
According to National File, the letter was signed by 19 Republicans who sit on the House Transportation Committee and expressed concern over the possibility that Biden is transporting immigrants deep in to the country using the train.
The letter was sent in the midst of the battle over Title 42, a Trump-era ruling that allows for the expulsion of illegal immigrants with disease outbreaks.
The Biden regime is allowing the influx of immigrants into America despite insisting that monkeypox is a global emergency.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made a statement expressing the belief that if Title 42 is abolished, migrant levels will likely increase “as smugglers will seek to take advantage of and profit from vulnerable migrants.”
In order to prevent human smuggling, the Biden administration plans to use plans, buses, and apparently trains to bring the migrants into America.
“We are concerned about the impact that a border surge could cause to your services and the potential use of Amtrak in the Administration’s response to its self-inflicted border crisis,” the 19 GOP lawmakers wrote in their letter to Amtrak president Gardner.
The lawmakers also state that the border crisis is of the administration’s own creation, and raised the alarm on the increased number of weapons and dangerous drugs smuggled into the country.
“The Administration-created border crisis deeply alarms Americans, including leaders from both parties, as weapons and record amounts of drugs are smuggled daily into American communities,” the letter went on to say, noting that “despite these concerns, the Administration has continued to erode border protections.”
Focusing on the Sunset Limited Amtrak Route, the lawmakers claimed that “Amtrak Joe” and several others in his constituency would allow the more immigrants to make it to the sanctuary state of California after crossing the Texas border.
