Barnette Snubs Trump in Pa. Primary, Oz Gets Trump Bump

'President Trump is not Jesus... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Pennsylvania’s most-Trumpian, non- Trump-endorsed candidate ratcheted up the tension Monday in what already was a contentious primary battle, when potential apple-cart tipper Kathy Barnette fired another shot across both establishment and MAGA bows.

“President Trump is not Jesus,” Barnette told radio host Todd Starnes on primary eve, blasting the former president’s endorsement of celebrity doctor and squishy novice pol Mehmet Oz.

Barnette’s comment comes in the wake of her also declaring Monday that she has no intention in the general election, if she loses the primary, of backing a RINO candidate in the form of Oz or globalist investor David McCormick.

“I have no intentions of supporting globalists,” she said.

“I don’t think we have room to just vote for any old warm body with an R next to their name. I think we can do better than that.”

In that vein, Barnette said that Trump had made a huge mistake endorsing Oz.

Trump, having blessed Oz early in the game, might now be secretly agreeing with that assessment.

Indeed, even while Trump-friendly political operatives and conservative media personalities were busy tearing down Barnette, Trump gave her a backhanded compliment while insisting she couldn’t survive the general election.

“Kathy Barnette will never be able to win the General Election against the Radical Left Democrats,” he said in a statement from his Save America PAC.

“She has many things in her past which have not been properly explained or vetted, but if she is able to do so, she will have a wonderful future in the Republican Party—and I will be behind her all the way,” he assured.

Of course, the was before Barnette said Trump wasn’t Jesus.

Oz got a non-Biblical, but still respectable Trump bump in the latest Emerson College Poll of likely Republican voters, Starnes reported.

Oz led the polling with 28%, Barnette with 24% and David McCormick trailing with 21%
