(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Former Vice President Mike Pence has stepped into the kingmaker ring with President Donald Trump.
Pence and several other Republican Trump castaways — including Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona, Gov. Pete Ricketts of Nebraska, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — plan to appear at rally in support of embattled Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp this weekend, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
As he approaches the Georgia gubernatorial primary on May 24, Kemp is facing a stiff challenge from Trump-endorsed David Perdue, who served as a United States senator from Georgia from 2015 to 2021.
Pence lauded his friendship with Kemp in a pair of Friday tweets announcing his appearance.
.@BrianKempGA is one of the most successful conservative governors in America. He built a safer and stronger Georgia by cutting taxes, empowering parents and investing in teachers, funding law enforcement, and standing strong for the right to life.

“[Brian Kemp] is one of the most successful conservative governors in America,” Pence wrote. “He built a safer and stronger Georgia by cutting taxes, empowering parents and investing in teachers, funding law enforcement, and standing strong for the right to life.”
“[Kemp] is my friend, a man dedicated to faith, family and the people of Georgia,” he continued. “I am proud to offer my full support for four more years of Brian Kemp as governor of the great state of Georgia!”
Kemp is at the top of Trump’s “revenge list” because of his inaction in the aftermath of the 2020 election, despite widespread evidence of voter fraud, according to the AJC.
Kemp gratefully accepted Pence’s support.
“The vice president’s leadership was instrumental in creating the most prosperous economy in American history, including here in Georgia, and his commitment to building a safer, stronger America represents the highest ideals of our party,” Kemp said in a statement.
Kemp has nailed down the establishment Republican vote.
As further evidence, former President George W. Bush, no fan of Trump or MAGA, will be hosting a big-money, high profile fundraiser for Kemp in Dallas on Monday.
