(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) The mayor of Uvalde, Texas has criticized the Biden administration for exacerbating the mass migrant crisis on our southern border, FOX News reported.

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin appeared on the “The Ingraham Angle” to address the federal government’s lack of preparation for a migrant surge as it prepares to rescind its COVID-era Title 42 restrictions on border crossings by May 23.
“We’re being forced on with a public safety problem here, a public health problem and then a humanitarian crisis,” McLaughlin told FOX host Laura Ingraham. “And this administration does nothing about it.”
“You and I have to obey the rule of law, if we break the law, they’re going to come arrest us, we’re going to be punished,” he continued. “But yet we’re going to reward all these migrants that are coming across the border . . . They have greater rights than American citizens.”
Biden administration officials have “privately” predicted an influx of more than 170,000 illegal aliens once the CDC’s public health restrictions are lifted, according to a report in Axios.
Axios also reported that the Department of Homeland Security recently established the Southwest Border Coordination Center to deal with the influx, and the DHS has already “moved officers, agents, and DHS Volunteer Force personnel to rapidly decompress points along the border and more efficiently process migrants.”
But the Uvalde mayor has been dealing with the federal government’s unwillingness to fix the immigration system for months.
In a March 24 appearance on Tucker Carlson’s program, McLaughlin reported that the feds have been releasing thousands of illegal immigrants into Texas towns daily.
“They’re releasing — in Eagle Pass, Texas right now, which is 63 miles from Uvalde, they are releasing 700 people a day into the community,” McLaughlin told Carlson. “Same thing in Del Rio, over 500 a day . . . It’s a powder keg that’s going to blow up and this government has no regard for American citizens.”
Border agents have told McLaughlin to expect more than 150 aliens to be released into his town every day, according to Fox 29.
