Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., has built his stock in Congress as a bright and ambitious up-and-comer, and a loyal ally of President Donald Trump.
But one of the first takeaways may also be the 38-year-old congressman’s enviable coif, reminiscent of a ’90s-era Luke Perry—or maybe of former President Ronald Reagan‘s famous pompadour.

Sadly for many conservative females, Gaetz’s days as one of the Beltway’s most eligible bachelors are numbered.
On Wednesday, he got engaged at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort to girlfriend Ginger Luckey, 26, a California-based financial analyst, according to Heavy.com.
Luckey is the sister of Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey, who sold his virtual reality company to Facebook for $2 billion in 2014.
According to the Daily Mail, the two met at Mar-a-Lago last March, and the following night Gaetz reportedly invited Luckey to a birthday party for Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox personality and now girlfriend of Donald Trump Jr.
Although she and Gaetz had a “whirlwind” romance of only 10 months Luckey reportedly had “seen it coming,” and said her simple reply was a no-brainer.
“It was actually ‘duh,'” she said.
Among those in attendance at the romantic occasion was Fox News’s Judge Jeanine Pirro, who tweeted out her congratulations.

According to his own Twitter, Gaetz and his new fiancée rang in the first day of 2021 hanging out with friends at a northwest Florida beach.
Gaetz, however, will have to cut short the R&R soon as Congress convenes next week to swear in its new members and count the votes of the Electoral College.
The Judiciary Committee member is one of at least 40 GOP members of Congress who has pledged to challenge the election results in a bid to recognize rival Trump-backing electors in states where vote fraud undermined the outcome of the Nov. 3 race.
