‘Science’ Magazine Editor Uses Birds to Promote Far-Left ‘Gender’ Propaganda

'P.S. Nature is amazing. P.P.S. Sex is not binary...'

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The editor of a so-called science” magazine tried to use birds to push her radical gender ideology on Wednesday, but an evolutionary biologist and regular people on the internet quickly revealed her lies.

According to Blaze News, Laura Helmuth, editor-in-chief of a once prestigious Scientific American, used the white-throated sparrow, a small North American bird, as “evidence” that biological sex is nonbinary.

“White-throated sparrows have four chromosomally distinct sexes that pair up in fascinating ways,” she wrote on Twitter.

“P.S. Nature is amazing. P.P.S. Sex is not binary.”

Actual scientists, however, are not leftist activists. Evolutionary biologist Colin Wright proceeded to debunk the claims of Helmuth.

“The example they give of a species ‘with more than two sexes’ is the white-throated sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis). This species has two color morphs, males and females with either white or tan stripes,” he wrote.

“The more aggressive white stripe morph has a large inversion on chromosome 2, and the species mates disassortative by color morph, meaning that white stripe morphs tend to mate with tan striped morphs.”

“This chromosome inversion coupled with the disassortative mating by morph has led to a situation where chromosome 2 ‘behaves like’ another sex chromosome. But having more than two sex chromosomes is not the same as having more than two sexes,” he added.

In the end, he concluded that Helmuth’s argument doesn’t make sense.

“While this species may be an interesting case study for how sex chromosomes have evolved, it certainly isn’t an example of a species with ‘four sexes,’ which would require four distinct gamete types.”

That wasn’t the end of it, though. Both Wright and people on Twitter also exposed how the very source that Helmuth used doesn’t say what she wanted people to believe.
