RFK Jr. Blasts Biden’s ‘Midnight Announcement’ about His Uncle’s Assassination

'The White House announcement is unlawful... '

(Corine GattiHeadline USADemocrat presidential challenger Robert F. Kennedy Jr. blasted the White House in a blistering Twitter rant on Sunday about the reticent way President Joe Biden and his administration announced that they would be retaining certain President John F. Kennedy assassination-related records from 60 years ago.

The son of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy didn’t conceal his feelings about the “midnight announcement” on Friday, concerning his uncle, JFK, the Gateway Pundit reported.

“It’s not about conspiracy – it is about transparency,” Kennedy tweeted. “In a midnight Friday night announcement, the White House has delivered the bad news that President Biden will be maintaining secrecy indefinitely on some JFK assassination-related records.”

Kennedy referenced a White House memorandum advising departments and agencies to postpone the release of certain records for national security reasons. Biden has certified that continued postponement is necessary to protect against identifiable harms that outweigh the public interest in disclosure.

“The assassination was 60 years ago,” he wrote in one Twitter post. “What national security secrets could possibly be at risk? What are they hiding?”

The aftermath of Kennedy’s assassination resulted in numerous inquiries and conspiracy theories, with historians carefully analyzing every document for potential new insights into the event and 1960s intelligence operations. Government secrecy over the years further complicated the investigation.

According to the National Archives and Records Administration, the collection included more than 5 million pages of assassination-related items, including records, photos, movies, recordings and artifacts. The majority of the materials are accessible for research purposes.

“The White House announcement is unlawful,” Kennedy said. “In 1992 the JFK Records Act was passed unanimously by Congress with the promise that all assassination-related records would be released no later than October 2017. This promise has been broken once again with this midnight announcement.”

The incumbent administration’s nuisance ended his Twitter tirade with a few parting words for Biden about the upcoming election.

“Public trust in government is at an all-time low,” RFK added. “Releasing these records would be a small but significant step toward regaining that trust,” Kennedy tweeted before ending with “#Kennedy24.”

According to a YouGov poll, 44% of Democrats support Kennedy’s candidacy, while 37% oppose it and 19% are unsure. Kennedy is also competing against author Marianne Williamson for the Democratic presidential nomination to unseat Biden.
