Controversial talk show host Joy Reid is losing her show at MSNBC in the spring, according to a report by Jon Nicosia at News Cycle Media.
“Source @ Comcast: ‘Joy Reid will lose her 7p show in the next round of reshuffling at MSNBC.’ – ‘She does not have a show come mid Spring’ – The ‘decision has been made, the only thing left is messaging on the move, which will be ratings,’ said Nicosia via Twitter.
The decision was made in part because people at MSNBC believe that Reid is “unmanageable” and has lied about previous incidents involving her, according to Nicosia’s report.
In 2018, Reid was blasted by the left for a series of Twitter posts that criticized gay people and homosexuality in general. Reed claimed that her Twitter account had been hacked but said that she could offer no proof that it happened, according to Mediaite.
.@MSNBC‘s Joy Reid addresses homophobic blog posts:
“I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things … But I can definitely understand, based on things I have tweeted and have written in the past, why some people don’t believe me.” pic.twitter.com/PWjdPfs5KB

Instead she offered an apology, saying in essence that she didn’t remember writing those posts, but she’s written other things in a similar vein—an apology that stretched credulity.
“I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things … But I can definitely understand, based on things I have tweeted and have written in the past, why some people don’t believe me,” said a Twitter post by MSNBC meant to close the controversy.
But controversy seems to follow Reid, in part because she can’t stop saying dumb things.
She claims that grade schools in the U.S. teach that lynching and violence against black people never happened, that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was somehow involved in a sex trafficking ring, and that Republican states only keep black people alive for one purpose, according to the site Outkick.
“Reid also claimed that red states are keeping black people alive only so that they cook white people’s steaks. Based on what? There’s no use asking since there are never any answers,” said Outkick.
Similar to other liberal shows this year, Reid’s ratings have plunged by 50% year-over-year, amid a 27% decline for MSNBC in general, according to the site Cable Rankings.
