Psaki Brushes Off China’s Nuke Push: ‘We Welcome Stiff Competition’

'We have been consistent in our approach with China...'

President Joe Biden‘s press secretary, Jen Psaki, shrugged off recent reports of China’s advances in nuclear technology, claiming that “we welcome stiff competition” in advancing weapons systems.

According to the Financial Times, “China tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in August that circled the globe before speeding towards its target, demonstrating an advanced space capability that caught US intelligence by surprise.”

Although the missile reportedly missed its target by about two-dozen miles, “the test showed that China had made astounding progress on hypersonic weapons and was far more advanced than US officials realized,” according to two people briefed on the intelligence.

“The test has raised new questions about why the US often underestimated China’s military modernization,” wrote the FT.

When asked about China’s apparently new capabilities, Psaki downplayed her concern while praising Biden’s relations with China.

“[W]e have been consistent in our approach with China,” she claimed after refusing to comment specifically on the weapons technology report.

While Biden and his administration have taken a consistent approach to relations with China, it appears that their approach amounts to a one-sided partnership, wherein our political elites sell out Americans to the Chinese.

The Biden family, for example, has profited greatly from its cozy relations with the foreign giant.

Biden’s son, Hunter, reportedly has nearly a half million dollars invested in a Chinese company. It has also been revealed recently that Hunter Biden attempted to acquire an annual $2-million retainer to aid in the recovery of Libyan assets frozen by former President Barack Obama.

But connections to China are not limited to the Biden family.

Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also got in on the China action, telling Chinese officials during the Trump administration that he would warn the rival superpower before undertaking any military strikes against it.

Meanwhile, since the Biden administration’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, China has increased its military presence in and around disputed territories—notably Taiwan, Hong Kong and the South China Sea.
