Pro-Life Protest in Ireland Shows International Support for ‘Roe’ Decision

‘Roe v. Wade is overturned. Come on Ireland, it’s your turn...’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Thousands of pro-life supporters gathered in Dublin to protest Ireland’s abortion laws and celebrate the overturn of Roe v. Wade in the United States.

“Thousands of people from across Ireland took to the streets of Dublin on [July 2] to protest the country’s abortion regime, which many [non-government organizations] are pushing to have [liberalized] even further after pregnancy terminations were initially [legalized] in the country in 2018,” reported Breitbart.

During the annual Rally for Life — the last time was in 2019 because of the COVID-19 tyrannical lockdowns — people celebrated the overturning of Roe that saved the lives of babies by giving more power to states to decide abortion laws.

The attendees were also protesting abortion laws in Ireland by waving banners and chanting slogans like “Roe v. Wade is overturned. Come on Ireland, it’s your turn.”

Even though the rally was planned on social media, there was only one pro-abortion activist who came to Ireland’s Garden of Remembrance, the location where the rally took place, to protest the event and its message.

One woman stood at the end of the main Dublin thoroughfare, holding a sign that said “The Christian Far-Right Can Go and Shite.” Children were standing next to the sign.

In the end, some people spoke up, including medical professionals.

“The annual event concluded with a number of speakers, including Dr. Dermot Kearney — an Irish medical professional working within the UK’s socialized health service who helps women who have had a change of heart after taking an abortion pill to save their babies…”

As well as Irish politicians:

“… Peadar Tóibín — leader of political party Aontú — and Independent Carol Nolan, both of whom serve in Ireland’s parliament, [spoke at the event].”

Even though abortions have been illegal in the country for many decades, Ireland legalized abortions in late 2018, allowing around 21,000 babies to die.
