(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) The best long-haul truckers have a knack for flying under the radar, a useful skill that helps them double-time deliveries from coast to coast.
The People’s Convoy, similarly, has so far managed to avoid any major headlines smearing the truckers and their supporters as racist, bigoted anarchists out for insurrection.
As the protests continue to grow and steadily make their way across the country with a pro-freedom message, however, expecting the mainstream media to accurately cover the convoy as the peaceful protest it has demonstrated itself to be so far, might be a bridge too far given the disgraceful hit job executed on Canada’s Freedom Convoy.
Similar to its Canadian forerunner, the People’s Convoy is protesting the abusive government overreach that has been unleashed during the COVID pandemic, calling for the federal government to immediately lift the National Emergency that has been in place since 2020, and end vaccine and mask mandates.
While COVID restrictions have already been eased in many states, the oppression continues in hardcore leftist bastions and for most school kids still under mask mandates. And the point of the People’s Convoy, organizers contend, also goes to ensuring that despotic encroachment on liberty is prevented in the future.
“I love America, but our freedoms will be stripped away if we don’t stand up for our rights,” trucker Larry Horton said. “This ride is not about truckers, it’s about America.”
In that vein, the convoy bills itself as a mixing pot representation of the country.
“We are truckers, moms, students, nurses, doctors, investors, county workers, teachers, cowboys, loggers, engineers, sanitation workers, professors, cashiers, flight attendants, pilots, sales reps, physical therapists,” the convoy’s website states.
“WE ARE, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, married, single, divorced, separated, gay, straight. WE ARE Black, White, Asian, Native American. WE ARE immigrants, natives: WE ARE citizens of the free world.”
And that’s just the People’s Convoy. Multiple other convoys, like the U.S. Freedom Convoy or the American Truckers Freedom Fund, have also been launched, all with different schedules and routes, but all with Washington, D.C., as the destination.

Some of the convoys are expected to arrive before President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, and already authorities are springing into a militant stance.
Despite the possibility of being confronted with the same bootjack crackdown meted out in Canada, where authorities harassed and arrested peaceful protestors, confiscated private property and froze bank accounts, organizers of the People’s Convoy are urging participants to keep their movement a “peaceful and law-abiding transcontinental journey.”

The U.S. Freedom Convoy is greeted by hundreds of supporters after a 250-mile haul from California to Arizona.
In 3 hours, the convoy nearly doubled in size while it’s en route to Washington, D.C.
