Bombshell Court Filing Describes How Law Enforcement Infiltrated Proud Boys Before J6

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A defendant who faces charges stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protest-turned-riot filed a motion Monday that describes how law enforcement infiltrated the Proud Boys in the weeks leading to the event.

Based on a previously unpublicized internal report from the DC Metropolitan Police Department, the court filing from J6 defendant William Pope also alleges that the U.S. government is withholding exculpatory evidence, and that surveillance footage may have been tampered with.

According to Pope, the investigation report said that MPD officers Nicholas Tomasula, Ricardo Leiva and Michael Callahan infiltrated the Proud Boys at Harry’s Bar in D.C. on December 11, 2020.

“While there, Tomasula and other officers made contacts with many different members of the Proud Boys, and Tomasula and Leiva were invited up to the hotel room of a Proud Boy he had met earlier that week,” Pope said.

“While in the room, Tomasula used police funds to purchase a Proud Boys t-shirt and hoodie, which the department kept for use in potential future undercover operations,” he added.

“Afterwards, Tomasula continued to communicate with Proud Boys using his phone and the Telegram application. The department knew of these contacts, and Detective Callahan even connected Tomasula to the FBI to share information.”

Pope included an excerpt from a Dec. 11, 2020, investigative report from Tomasula, who described seeing Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio with a “handler” during meetings leading up to J6.

“I also observed the leader of the proud boys who goes by the name of ‘Enrique.’ This male seemed to have a security team around him the entire time along with what appeared to be a ‘handler,’ who would direct him and seemed to be organizing things from the background,” Tomasula said in his December 2020 report.

Tomasula apparently took a photo of Tarrio’s handler.

In a follow-up report, the undercover MPD officer described Tarrio as the “figurehead of the Proud Boys,” while saying that his apparent handler is the one who called the shots at the meetings he attended.

“The male subject with the black jacket, under armour [sic] sneakers, and red baseball cap seems to have been the person who called the plays during the weekend,” Tomasula said.

“When Enrique would call for leadership meetings, he and the male in the red hat would always meet.”

However, the photograph of the handler was altered, according to defendant Pope.

“Again, the picture Tomasula included with this intel has been turned black and white and degraded in the PDF produced by the government so it is hard to make out details,” Pope said in his motion Monday.

The photo appears to show an older man with a large nose and glasses wearing a high collared, dark jacket. This is the man characterized by Tomasula as Tarrio’s ‘handler,’” Pope explained, later adding, “This photo is discoverable material, so the government has an obligation to produce the full quality original and any information they have on Tarrio’s ‘handler.’”

The photo of Tarrio’s handler isn’t the only piece of evidence that may have been tampered with. According to Pope, body footage from MPD officers also may have been altered.

For instance, Pope noted “gaps” in the body camera footage of an officer who beat protestors.

“In both cases, between the gaps in recordings, Officer McCallister viciously beats a protestor who is not resisting,” Pope said in his motion.

“It is reasonable to question whether these gaps are anomalies or if evidence is being altered to remove facts that are inconvenient for the government,” he said.

The government is also withholding untold reams of evidence about undercover law enforcement activity on J6, including recordings made by at least 21 officers in the MPD’s electronic surveillance unit.

Pope’s motion seeks to compel the government to produce such evidence.

“As I have shown, the requested discoverable materials are specifically relevant to my case and are also generally relevant to most other January 6 cases. These items should have been voluntarily disclosed by the government long ago,” said Pope, who is representing himself.

“But since the government continues to string me a long with promises of deliverables that never materialize, and since the government is obstructing justice for hundreds of accused Americans (including myself) by withholding these Brady materials, I must move this court to expeditiously compel production.”

A trial date for Pope, whose charges include obstructing an official proceeding and disorderly conduct, has yet to be scheduled.

Turley: Even If Convicted, Trump May Never Actually Go to Prison

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) Despite the Left’s unrelenting lawfare against Donald Trump, it seems premature or unlikely to assume that the former president will actually wind up behind bars, especially if he wins the 2024 election.

That appears to be the assessment of constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley based on procedure and logistics.

“[A] review of the legal proceedings ahead is a buzz kill for the lock–him–up crowd,” the constitutional scholar and George Washington Univiversity law professor wrote on his website. “Despite the proliferation of charges against Trump, there is nothing that guarantees that he will be sent to the big house instead of the White House, if elected.”

Turley, a self-described liberal, acknowledged that the Georgia and Florida indictments put Trump in serious legal peril.

Nonetheless, he insisted that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s proposed March 4 trial date, the day before Super Tuesday, was “wildly unrealistic.”

“Given the competing criminal and civil proceedings previously scheduled around the country, the Georgia trial may have to wait until after next year’s election,” he wrote. “There are also likely to be motions to remove the entire case to federal court.”

Former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows is already said to have filed a motion to have the case transferred to federal court, which would potentially put Trump in double jeopardy given the pre-existing DOJ charges against him that may overlap with those put forth by Willis.

In litigation, procedure—including lawyers filing motions (i.e., pre-trial written requests for rulings of various kinds) in court back and forth—is sometimes everything.

Those were likely to forestall the trial’s start until well past Election Day.

Yet, even if a jury found him guilty, Trump could still maintain his candidate status, Turley added.

Turley reaffirmed the Contitution’s position that the GOP frontrunner could still seek office while his day in court in still pending—and, in fact, if convicted.

“Even if it were held in the midst of the election, a conviction would not bar Trump from appearing on the ballot or taking the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2025,” Turley said. “… Indeed, even a conviction would not prevent him from running for president or serving if elected.”

It would be up to Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings in order to oust the duly elected president if they deemed his high crimes or misdemeanors a burden upon the office.

Given the unprecedented nature of the circumstances, Turley also doubed that a conviction would land Trump in jail.

“If Trump is convicted, most courts would allow him to remain free pending appeals on the weighty constitutional and evidentiary issues raised by the Georgia case. That process could easily take a couple of years,” he said. “And if Trump were to win in 2024 and a judge were to order his incarceration during his presidency, there would be an immediate challenge.”

Turley also pointed out that it is hardly likely that Trump would be “thrown into general pop with a bar of soap and a weekly call.”

With the wheels of justice proverbially moving slowly, the professor emphasized that Trump is statutorily protected 24/7 by Secret Service bodyguards “and, if elected, he would have presidential duties to perform. The state may have to yield to federal authority in how Trump is held to allow him to carry out his duties and to accommodate his security detail.”

In that scenario, a legal challenge “would take time, and the federal courts could balance the state and federal interests by delaying any incarceration until after the term.”

Apart from a potential White House arrest, Turley did not address whether a radical, far-left prosecutor would try to make Trump wear an ankle monitor.

In a previous column, Turley hinted that the outcome of the 2024 election is more important than the outcome of the upcoming federal trials because no constitutional barrier exists, in his opinion, for a presidential self-pardon, if it comes to that.

Georgia is a different matter. Pardons currently come under the purview of the State Board of Pardons and Review, which can take up the matter only after five years post-conviction.

However, Trump would not have much more luck if the state legislature were to change the law to confer that power onto the governor. Incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp, who was re-elected last year to another four year term, is an outspoken NeverTrumper who recently reinterated his belief that the Fulton County charges against Trump were justified since there was no vote fraud in the state during the 2020 election.

Clarence Thomas’s Close Friend Says ProPublica Story about Billionarie Yacht Trip is Bogus

(Corine Gatti, Headline USA) The leftist media’s latest hit piece on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas highlighted his alleged voyage on a yacht around the Bahamas—none of which happened, according to insiders.

ProPublica reported that a chauffeur of oil baron Paul “Tony” Novelly claimed to have driven Thomas to the marina where Novelly’s luxurious yacht was often docked.

Moreover, it was reported that Novelly’s former yacht workers said Thomas came on board Novelly’s yachts “multiple times.”

However, a close friend of the justice, Mark Paoletta, wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that the justice denied having ever seen the boat.

“ProPublica’s claim that Justice Thomas was a passenger on any yacht owned by Tony Novelly, including the Le Montrachet, is completely false,” Paoletta told the Daily Caller. “He has never ever laid eyes on this boat. Moreover, Justice Thomas has never been in the Bahamas with Tony Novelly.”

The last visit he had to the Bahamas was during the 1980s, “long before he went on the Supreme Court and long before he met Mr. Novelly,” Paoletta continued. “There is not a shred of truth to this story.”

ProPublica receives the bulk of its funding from the the same dark-money foundations that have underwritten activist organizations seeking to pack the court and otherwise attempt to delegitimize it for political purposes.

The outlet—which has specifically targeted the court’s two most conservative justices, Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito—claimed the alleged yacht trip was one of 38 destination vacations and gifts Thomas received from wealthy friends in possible violation of ethics rules.

The justices have maintained that there were no ethical reporting violations in accordance with the court’s policies at the time, nor any conflicts of interest involving pending cases that would have required them to recuse themselves due to their personal relationships.

Paoletta disputed more elements of ProPublica’s story about Thomas. He challenged the claim that Thomas had received a standing invitation to an exclusive golf club, as well as the value of the football game he attended with former top executive at Berkshire Hathaway David Sokol, worth $40,000 for a luxury suite.

Paoletta said that the Nebraska Athletic Department confirmed that the ticket price for Thomas’s seats was $65 and that he attended the game as well. He also claimed Thomas never accepted the golf club invitation extended by billionaire Wayne Huizenga.

In spite of the discrepancies in the account, ProPublica editor-in-chief Stephen Engelberg stood by the story, taking Thomas’s own refusal to cooperate as confirmation of his guilt.

“Our reporting on Justice Thomas’ trip to the Bahamas was based on multiple firsthand sources,” Engelberg told the Daily Caller.

“We asked Justice Thomas about this trip and he did not respond,” Engelberg added. “We take any allegation of error seriously and our policy is to correct any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.”

ProPublica acknowledged in its article that individuals including Huizenga, Sokol and Novelly had not had any legal cases at the Supreme Court during their relationships with Thomas, despite their involvement in industries that are greatly affected by the court’s rulings.

After reviewing Federal Election Commission records, the Daily Caller found ProPublica’s biggest donors funded groups calling for an investigation of Thomas like the Sandler Foundation, which supported several groups calling for Thomas to be investigated or to resign.

Moreover, experts cited by ProPublica in stories on Supreme Court justices had histories of donating to Democratic campaigns and left-wing causes.

Most damningly perhaps, while teeming with indignation over the personal dealings of the court’s second black justice, ProPublica and other media have ignored similar ethical concerns surrounding liberal justices including Sonia Sotomayor and the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Democrats and their media allies also have remained mum regarding President Joe Biden’s vacations at the homes of wealthy left-wing donors, including his stay this week at the Lake Tahoe retreat of megadonor Tom Steyer.

Portland Schools Adopt ‘Equitable’ Grading Standards that Ban Zero’s for Cheating, Failed Assignments

(Headline USA) A Portland school district recently issued new “equitable grading” policies, which prohibit teachers from giving students a failing grade for missing work or even if they are caught cheating.

A handout explaining the district’s “rationale” claims the new policies are meant to address “racial disparities in our pass/fail rate in multiple subjects in both middle grades and high school.”

Many of the district’s teachers have already begun “the journey towards equitable grading,” the handout acknowledges. “We need to organize and consolidate our efforts towards common policies to more consistently and better support students and families with equitable grading.”

The new guidelines instruct teachers never to give students a grade of zero. Instead, they are told to provide “a minimum grade greater than or equal to 50% for work that does not meet expectations, is incomplete, or is missing.”

Teachers must also do away with the 0-100 grading scale and replace it with a 0-4 scale, which the district claims is “more mathematically accurate.”

Moreover, students’ total grades will reflect only their most recent performance – not their total work over the course of a semester.

To combat teachers’ “implicit bias,” homework will not be graded, and teachers cannot provide extra credit or penalize students for “non-academic factors,” including attendance, performance, effort, attitude and behavior.

The new guidelines are expected to take effect by 2025.

Erika Sanzi, the outreach director at parental rights group Parents Defending Education, told the Washington Free Beacon that Portland’s “equitable grading practices” will hurt students.

“These equitable grading policies, however well intended, are a disaster for the students who struggle most and for the students who need accelerated coursework,” she said.

Portland joins a number of leftist districts that have abolished grading in the name of equity. California Democrats even recently proposed a bill that would prohibit teachers or administrators from suspending students who display “willful defiance.”

Why Are US Tax Dollars Still Flowing to Animal Testing Labs in China?

(By Jon Miltimore, FEE) In May, the U.S. National Institutes of Health did something extraordinary. The agency quietly scrubbed the Wuhan Institute of Virology from its list of pre-approved labs that can receive U.S. tax dollars to conduct animal testing.

The Wuhan lab is, of course, noteworthy because an abundance of evidence suggests it’s likely the source of SARS-CoV-2.

That the Wuhan lab was receiving millions of dollars from the NIH to conduct risky research on coronaviruses helps explain why the U.S. government worked so hard to convince people that COVID-19 was of natural origin. It also explains why NIH would erase the Wuhan lab from its list of labs that can receive funding—without even issuing a press release.

Unfortunately, the NIH’s damage control isn’t just too late. It’s also far too little.

White Coat Waste Project—the organization that exposed that the NIH was funding the gain-of-function research of the Chinese lab researcher reportedly believed to be “patient zero”—recently noted that dozens of other Chinese laboratories that conduct animal testing remain eligible to receive U.S. tax dollars.

“Shipping taxpayer dollars to animal testing labs run by our foreign adversaries is a recipe for disaster,” White Coat Waste Project senior vice president Justin Goodman said in a statement. “Over 70% of taxpayers—Republicans and Democrats alike—oppose this reckless spending.”

There’s a reason Americans overwhelmingly oppose taxpayer funding for animal testing. The practice is ethically questionable and often gruesome.

In 2021, CBS reported on a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs program that funded experiments on healthy cats, including a procedure called a “head implant” that involved researchers “drilling holes” into the skulls of cats “to test for sleep patterns.”

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, these grisly experiments caught the attention of federal lawmakers, including Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst, who says more than $1 billion of federal funds have been spent on animal testing programs and other projects in China and Russia alone.

Ms. Ernst is one of a bipartisan group of lawmakers looking to end this funding with the Accountability in Foreign Animal Research Act.

“The AFAR Act will guarantee not another penny will be spent subsidizing crazy and dangerous experiments, like putting cats on a treadmill or enhancing bat coronaviruses in Russia and China ever again,” says Ms. Ernst.

Ms. Ernst is right, and the AFAR Act is a step in the right direction. But the problem goes beyond tax dollars.

There’s a dark, Frankenstein-like aspect to researchers who’d use such ethically compromised practices to advance humanity’s fortunes in the name of science. The lesson of Frankenstein, of course, is that we should beware of committing moral atrocities in the pursuit of science. Yet this lesson appears lost on many scientists today, or at least those who are receiving the checks.

And this gets to the deeper problem. The government isn’t merely allowing these ethically questionable experiments on animals to occur; it’s actively funding the research, which is problematic for two reasons that go beyond dollars and cents.

First, government has created a massive industry around animal experimentation. Hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake, and both the recipients of the funds and those who grant them have an incentive to keep the cash flowing—regardless of the ethics or the fruit born of the research.

Second, proper oversight and accountability of these facilities is hampered by the fact that the government is funding the research. The government is supposed to hold to account those who directly harm others, but the Wuhan lab saga shows how difficult this task becomes when the government itself is the bad actor.

Neither the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which administers the Wuhan Institute of Virology and reports directly to the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, nor the U.S. government has shown much interest in being transparent about what was going on at the Wuhan lab.

China has steadfastly refused to give patient data to the World Health Organization in its investigation into the origins of COVID-19, even though it’s considered a standard pandemic practice.

The U.S. government, meanwhile, went to great lengths to censor Americans who openly speculated that the virus might have originated in the Wuhan lab. Government officials also somehow convinced a bunch of scientists to publicly claim the virus was of a natural origin, even though they privately believed the opposite was true.

In other words, government officials will be more inclined to cover up the truth than hold themselves accountable for any crimes they commit or harm they cause.

None of this should surprise us. In his classic work Anatomy of the State, the economist Murray Rothbard noted that “the State is largely interested in protecting itself rather than its subjects.” Rothbard proposed testing this hypothesis with a simple question: “Which category of crimes does the State pursue and punish most intensely—those against private citizens or those against itself?”

We’ve seen the answer to this question over and again in the last three years, which is why it’s clear that it’s time for the government to get out of the business of funding animal experiments altogether.

The state’s long track record of horrifying scientific experiments—on both people and animals—shows it lacks both the conscience and incentives necessary to conduct such research ethically (assuming it can ever be ethical) and safely.

In the end, both our grandchildren and the animal kingdom will thank us for separating science and state.

Ramaswamy Says He Would Support Cutting Off Aid to Israel By 2028

(Headline USA) GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said this weekend that he would support cutting off all aid to Israel by 2028.

Currently, the U.S. sends $3 billion in aid to Israel — an amount that should at least be debated before Congress approves another aid package, the 38-year-old candidate argued.

“If we’re successful, the true mark of success for the U.S., and for Israel, will be to get to a 2028 where Israel is so strongly standing on its own two feet, integrated into the economic and security infrastructure of the rest of the Middle East, that it will not require and be dependent on that same level of historical aid or commitment from the U.S.,” Ramaswamy told the Washington Free Beacon on Saturday.

The U.S.focus moving forward should not be on sending the country more money, but on helping negotiate peace treaties that will bolster its standing, he explained. Ramaswamy said he would broker expanded agreements between Israel and Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Indonesia, and predicted he could “deliver that in my first year in office.”

“Why is that important? That integrates Israel into the economic and security infrastructure of the rest of the Middle East, in a way that hasn’t happened because Israel has been wrongfully held hostage over a complex historical Palestine question, from being able to integrate itself,” he said.

Ramaswamy clarified that he would support extended aid to Israel past 2028 if his plan is ineffective.

“The big difference is to see if the Abraham Accords 2.0 is indeed successful at getting Israel to a stronger place than it is today while relying on U.S. aid,” he said. “If it is, then that is the best-case scenario for all; if it’s not, then the aid will continue.”

His comments quickly drew the ire of his Republican rivals, including former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley.

“Support for Israel is both the morally right and strategically smart thing to do. Both countries are stronger and safer because of our ironclad friendship. As president, I will never abandon Israel,” she said.

Far-Left Mouthpieces Admit ‘Trump Was Right,’ MAGA Has Common Ground w/ Liberalism

(Corine Gatti, Headline USA) The media puppets for the far Left admitted former President Donald Trump was right about President Joe Biden’s son Hunter back in 2020, with one journalist suggesting that MAGA and liberals could find common ground.

In an epiphany, self-proclaimed “flaming Leftist” reporter John Russell from the progressive news media organization, More Perfect Union, said during a MAGA rally last week in Pennsylvania that Trump was right regarding issues like the economy.

Russell had a “hunch” that he could find common ground with MAGA voters, according to Town Hall, extending an olive branch to rally-goers as some found common ground on foreign policy and stagnant wages compared with skyrocketing cost of living.

“You know he’s definitely not a Republican because then Mitch McConnell and them would be backing him and DeSantis wouldn’t be running against him,” said one Trump voter. “He’s obviously not a Democrat anymore, so we’re more of a politically homeless faction that loves America and will make all the changes.”

The man added that the “Bernie Sanders faction” and other progressives have more in common with the MAGA movement than they realize.

“We visited a Trump rally to talk with his supporters about economic policy and corporate power,” Russell posted on X, formally Twitter. “What’s clear is, despite some irreconcilable differences between us, there’s an aggressive pro-worker economic agenda that appeals to Americans across the political spectrum.”

Russell told Trump supporters the “working class on the left and the right have much in common than we’re led to believe,” adding, “If that’s true, it could and should have huge implications for the upcoming election.”

“Despite some irreconcilable differences between us, there’s an aggressive pro-worker economic agenda that appeals to Americans across the political spectrum.”

Russell was not the only one eating crow recently.

CNN host Jake Tapper joined the chorus and acknowledged Trump was right when he asserted during the 2020 presidential debates that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, received significant sums of foreign funds, Fox News reported.

Tapper stated that Biden was wrong in denying Trump’s accusations against his son’s business dealings in Ukraine, China, Moscow and other places in 2020.

In a recent segment on The Lead, Tapper criticized Biden’s 2020 claims and played footage from two debates.

“So this is from two different debates but, I mean, Trump was right. I mean, he did make a fortune from China and Joe Biden was wrong,” Tapper stated. Hunter Biden admitted in court in July that he was paid substantial sums from Chinese companies.

Texas Official Switches to GOP Over Democrats’ Refusal to Enforce the Border

(Headline USA) A Texas Democrat official revealed this week that she is leaving her party and switching to the GOP as a result of Democrats’ failure to address the border crisis.

Kleberg County Attorney Kira Talip Sanchez said she works with law enforcement on a daily basis to “ensure the safety of the citizens of Kleberg County.” Democrats have been actively undermining that work, she said, by ignoring the “unprecedented crisis” at the southern border, Fox News reported.

“I believe that the GOP’s policies of law and order protecting safety and backing the blue best align with my values and the values of the citizens of Kleberg County. I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep South Texas safe,” Sanchez said in a statement.

Voted into office in 2014, Sanchez oversees the county’s Specialized Crimes and Narcotics Task Force, which “plays a vital role in intercepting deadly drugs coming through the southern border before distribution,” according to the Hispanic Republicans of Texas.

HRT’s president, Cassy Garcia, said Sanchez is just one of many Democrat voters in Kleberg County, which historically leans Left, who are switching to the GOP as the migrant crisis continues to worsen.

“Every day, we are meeting with people who have voted for Democrats for decades but that this is no longer their Abuelos’ Democratic Party,” Garcia said. “It’s become too radical, elitist, and out of touch with our values.”

Texas officials have been doing their part to crack down on illegal border crossings and drug trafficking, despite the Biden administration’s opposition to their efforts. Last month, for example, the Justice Department sued Texas after the state placed floating barriers in the Rio Grande to thwart migrants from crossing into the country.

“I got news for Joe Biden. We are not removing the buoys or barriers that we have securing the border,” Gov. Greg Abbott said in response. “Mr. President, we will see you in the United States Supreme Court.”

Leftists Pushing Biden to Declare Climate Emergency After Maui Fire

(Headline USA) Leftists are pushing President Joe Biden to declare a national climate emergency in the wake of a devastating wildfire in Maui, which would allow him to unilaterally pass a radical environmentalist agenda.

Despite overwhelming evidence that the fire in Maui was sparked by the island’s electric utility and exacerbated by a poor response from government officials, climate activists have blamed extreme weather for the tragedy and demanded that Biden use it to his advantage.

“Even when I talk about this issue, I tend to say things like, ‘I want to make sure my children have clean air and water — that they have running water. That they have a livable planet when they’re my age.’ But that’s not right,” Kaniela Ing, the national director of the Green New Deal Network, told Politico.

“Tomorrow, you could wake up and your whole community could be ashes. That’s the urgency we’re operating under, so if there was ever a moment to declare a climate emergency, it is right now.”

A handful of Democrat lawmakers have also pushed Biden to use his executive authority to declare a state of emergency.

“The devastation in Maui is a clear sign that the president must declare a climate emergency — now. While FEMA is providing resources to the local heroes on the ground fighting for the lives and livelihoods of Hawaiians, the underlying climate-driven conditions of drought, extreme heat, environmental injustice, and non-resilient infrastructure will remain,” Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., said in a statement.

Markey is one of several leftists in Congress who has been pushing Biden to take this drastic step since he took office. In July 2022, he and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., penned a letter to the president admitting that the only way to pass radical climate policies through the legislature is if Biden “put[s] us on an emergency footing and aggressively use[s] your executive powers to address the climate crisis.”

Earlier this month, Biden was asked whether he intended to make such a declaration, and he falsely claimed he had already made one, “practically speaking.”

REPORT: CNN Analyst Van Jones Booted from Org. that He Started, Funded by Bezos

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) CNN talking head Van Jones has reportedly been forced out of a woke nonprofit organization that he founded.

Two years ago, Amazon boss Jeff Bezos handed Jones a check for $100 million to fund his activism, but that largess evidently did not prevent him from being sidelined at the lofty sounding Dream.org.

And despite all that cash, it apparently did not prevent layoffs at the 501(c)3 organization.

Multiple insiders told the far-left Daily Beast in an article worth reading it its entirely for the full context that “This summer, Jones left the board of one of his principal nonprofits, Dream.org, after tussling with the group’s leadership over its direction…According to a person with direct knowledge of the situation, he did not leave by choice.”

The specific disagreements have not yet surfaced, but his public relations rep nonetheless claimed, in part, that “Van continues to work with Dream.Org in the justice innovation space and beyond.”

CeCe Grant, a former Dream.org employee quoted by name in the article, remarked that “Quite a few people have questions about the fiscal stewardship that Dream.org has had.”

The Dream.org website explains that “From ending mass incarceration, to stopping climate change, to creating new economic opportunities in overlooked communities, the only durable solutions are the ones that lots of people create together.”

The togetherness evidently no longer includes Jones himself.

Both the Jones PR rep and a Dream.org spokesperson “did not deny that he had been ousted from the board,” the news outlet asserted.

As of this writing, Jones, 54, is still listed on the Dream.org website as the founder and board member, however.

Jones, who has a new activist initiative in the works, reportedly gave up the day-to-day management of the umbrella organization in 2019.

One unnamed staffer criticized Jones as someone who “can’t stay at anything for longer than a few years before passing it off.”

Another ex-colleague remarked that Jones tends to jump ship “to the next thing, and possibly not creating the best infrastructure before he leaves.”

Others more favorably inclined toward the CNN commentator maintained that top management, rather than Jones himself, was responsible “for the tumult and zealous spending.”

Internally, Jones also allegedly took some heat, as it were, for trying to come up with a “bipartisan consensus” on environmental issues.

The organization has three subsidiaries: Dream.green, a.k.a. Green For All, Dream.justice., and Dream.tech (the latter which aims to bring diversity to the tech sector).

Green for All received a separate $10 million from Jones-fan Bezos and reportedly went on a hiring spree that triggered a huge increase in overhead.

“The group tore through that money with little to show for it, several ex-employees said…Multiple former staffers said that Green For All’s leaders struggled to form a coherent plan.”

Dream insisted that it is currently financially sound and described Jones as “a valuable resource for us.”

Whether or not the current initiative was mismanaged, it’s unclear how much of Bezos’s big money actually trickled down to Dream.

“In private, Jones appears to have harbored doubts about Dream’s efficacy, former employees said, since he chose not to funnel much of his $100 million award into the organization,” the Daily Beast noted.

Commenting about the Bezos bounty, Jones said that “It felt like winning the lottery, except I never bought a ticket.”
