Far-Left Protesters Honor Conservative World Leader by Erecting Nude Statue

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Leftist protesters in Israel unveiled a nude statue of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with a label underneath it proclaiming “the king is naked.”

In response to the new statue, a legal organization, Yehudit, filed a complaint suggesting that the statue is some species of “sexual harassment,” Israel National News reported.

According to Yehudit CEO Moriah Litvak, the statue at Kibbutz Shefayim is illegal in the nation of Israel.

“The law states that an indecent act done for the purpose of causing humiliation is considered sexual harassment,” he argued.

“It is clear to everyone that this is a deliberate attack against the prime minister and the entire national camp, and it is not for nothing that such a dark and blatant statue was placed.”

Litvak also noted that, though he supports the right to protest, the means used by these protesters is unacceptable.

Leftist protestors pulled a similar stunt in 2021, leading up to the country’s national elections, when a “statue resembling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, depicted squatting naked in a corner, was set up in Tel Aviv’s Habima Square,” it was reported at the time.

“Municipal authorities set up barriers around the installation and posted a removal note on the statue, while police arrived in an attempt to trace those behind it,” Times of Israel reported.

“Sexual harassment as part of a protest, no matter how just the protest, is wrong and deserves full condemnation,” Litvak continued. “I expect the Israel Police to remove the statue immediately, arrest those responsible and bring them to justice.”

According to anti-government protesters in the country, Netanyahu is destroying the country.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid spoke at a protest in the Krayot recently, claiming that the prime minister was “destroying us from within,” adding that “Netanyahu has no control over anything.”

According to Lapid, the leftist organization plans to fight the government tooth and nail.

“This is a dysfunctional government and it needs to go home. This is our plan. Not to believe in miracles that won’t happen. Not to go for a fake unity that will break our moral spine. Fight them until they go.”

Another protest leader, Shikma Bresler, told a Tel Aviv crowd that she and her comrades want to transform the nation to make it more feminist-oriented.

“We want a country in which the values of justice, freedom and equality flow, a Jewish and democratic state, where women sit where they want, sing when they want and wear what they want.”

West Africans Flood Across Border, Exploiting Route Spread via Social Media

(Headline USA) Social media is being used to increase the assault on President Joe Biden’s porous southern border, adding a new dimension to the hordes of illegal immigrants streaming into the United States.

Aissata Sall was scrolling through WhatsApp in May when she first learned about the new route to the United States. For Ibrahima Sow, the discovery came on TikTok a few weeks later.

By the time their paths crossed at the tidy one-story brick house in Cincinnati, they had encountered hundreds of other Mauritanians, nearly all of them following a new path surging in popularity among younger migrants from the West African nation, thanks largely to social media.

“Four months ago, it just went crazy,” said Oumar Ball, who arrived in Cincinnati from Mauritania in 1997 and recently opened his home to Sow, Sall and more than a dozen other new migrants. “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing.”

The spike in migration was made possible by the discovery this year of a new route through Nicaragua, where relaxed entry requirements allow Mauritanians and a handful of other foreign nationals to purchase a low-cost visa without proof of onward travel.

As word of the entry point spreads, travel agencies and paid influencers have taken to TikTok to promote the trip, selling packages of flights that leave from Mauritania, then connect through Turkey, Colombia and El Salvador, and wind up in Managua, Nicaragua. From there, the migrants, along with asylum seekers from other nations, are whisked north by bus with the help of smugglers.

“The American dream is still available,” promises a video on TikTok, one of dozens of similar posts from French-speaking “guides” that help Mauritanians make the trip. “Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today.”

“We wish you success. Nicaragua loves you very much,” a man working for a travel agency says in Spanish in another video.

The influx of Mauritanians has surprised officials in the U.S. It came without a triggering event — such as a natural disaster, coup or sudden economic collapse — suggesting the growing power of social media to reshape migration patterns. In this case, the “triggering event” turned out to be the Biden administration and its lax border policies. From March to June, more than 8,500 Mauritanians arrived in the country by crossing the border illegally from Mexico, up from just 1,000 in the four months prior, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data.

The new arrivals likely now outnumber the estimated 8,000 foreign-born Mauritanians previously living in the U.S., about half of whom are in Ohio. Many arrived in the 1990s as refugees after the Arab-led military government began expelling black citizens.

Some who left say they’re again fleeing state violence directed against black Mauritanians. Racial tensions have increased since the May death of a young black man, Oumar Diop, in police custody, with the government moving aggressively to crush protests and disconnect the country’s mobile internet.

The nation was one of the last to criminalize slavery, and the practice is widely believed to persist in parts of the country. Several Mauritanians who spoke to the Associated Press said police targeted them because of anti-slavery activism.

“Life is very difficult, especially for the black Mauritanian population,” said Sow, 38, who described himself as an activist in the country. “The authorities became threatening and repressive.”

It became difficult to fight, he said, and his life was threatened. So he fled via the new route to Cincinnati, where he’d heard a thriving Mauritanian community was helping new arrivals get on their feet.

Previously, applying for asylum in the U.S. meant flying to Brazil, then risking a dangerous trek through the dense jungle of the Darien Gap. The new route through Nicaragua bypasses that link.

The trip can cost $8,000 to $10,000, a hefty sum that some families manage by selling land or livestock. With economic growth over the past decade, Mauritania has moved into the lower ranks of middle-income countries, according to the U.N. refugee agency, but the poverty rate remains high, with 28.2% living below the poverty line.

The Nicaragua route also allows migrants to avoid the boat voyages to Europe that have killed tens of thousands in the past decade. Mauritanian and Spanish authorities have cracked down on boats crossing the Atlantic for Spain’s Canary Islands, and people are increasingly being intercepted after trekking to North Africa to try to cross the Mediterranean. Flying to Nicaragua is legal, and the rest of the trip is on land — attractive options for Mauritanians and others who want to leave Africa.

The new passage presents a rare opportunity to a generation yearning for a better life, said Bakary Tandia, a Mauritanian activist living in New York: “No matter what is your burning desire to come, if there is no route, you will not even think about it. The reality is: People are seeing a window of opportunity, that’s why they are rushing.”

Still, some who’ve followed the Nicaragua route say they were misled about potential dangers and the future awaiting them in the U.S. This month, a bus carrying migrants tumbled down a steep hillside in Mexico, killing 18 people, including one Mauritanian. Two other Mauritians were hospitalized.

Sall, a 23-year-old nurse, said she was robbed of her remaining money on a bus in Mexico by men dressed as police officers. After crossing the border, she was hospitalized with dehydration.

“On WhatsApp they say, ‘Oh, it’s not very difficult.’ But it’s not true,” she said. “We confront so much pain along the way.”

Many Mauritanians enter the U.S. in Yuma, Arizona. Some are dropped off on a Mexican highway by smugglers for a roughly two-hour walk through a knee-deep river and flat desert shrub and rocks. They surrender to Border Patrol agents in Yuma waiting under stadium lights where a wall built during Donald Trump’s presidency abruptly ends.

After a period of detention and screening that could last hours or days, they may enter the country to await a court date, a process that can take years. Others are kept in detention for weeks, or placed on a small number of flights deporting them back to Mauritania.

Snowflake Activists Force Cancellation of Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) As so-called body-positivity activists continue to push the obesity agenda, Universal Music Group has dropped one of British classic-rock band Queen’s most popular songs, “Fat Bottomed Girls,” from its latest “greatest hits” compilation, the Telegraph reported.

The 1978 single, penned by Queen lead guitarist and part-time astrophysicist Brian May, is a rollicking celebration of thiccness with lyrics like, “I was just a skinny lad / Never knew no good from bad / But I knew life before I left my nursery / Left alone with big fat Fanny / She was such a naughty nanny / Big woman, you made a bad boy out of me.”

The label ostensibly dropped the song because it was not suitable for younger audiences to whom the compilation is being marketed following the success of Bohemian Rhapsody, the 2018 biopic of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, which introduced the band’s music to a new generation.

“Queen are one of those bands that bring generations together,” said a blurb on the kid-friendly streaming website Yoto, where the album was being streamed.

“It’s the ideal introduction to the music of Queen for young music lovers and the perfect soundtrack to kitchen dance parties, road-trip singalongs, bedtime air guitar sessions… and much much more.”

However, among the songs included in Universal’s curated selection is the band’s biggest hit to date, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which critics interpret as being about Mercury’s coming to grips with his terminal AIDS diagnosis. The song the opening lines, “Mama, just killed a man / Put a gun against his head / Pulled my trigger, now he’s dead.”

The Yoto site does contain a disclaimer: “Please note that the lyrics in some of these songs contain adult themes, including occasional references to violence and drugs.”

It also warns that “these are the original and unedited recordings. Whilst no swear words are used parental discretion is advised when playing this content to or around younger children.”

Meanwhile, pop stars like Lizzo continue to be propped up by mainstream American culture, suggesting that the entertainment industry is sending mixed signals with respect to its fetishization of fat culture.

Because of the bizarre double-standard, the removal of the iconic song has led some Queen fanatics to speculate that the song may be undergoing cancellation.

According to reports from industry insiders, many are perplexed by the removal of the song from the album, as the standards of wokeness become increasingly arbitrary and vague.

“It is the talk of the music industry, nobody can work out why such a good-natured, fun song can’t be acceptable in today’s society,” one source told the Daily Mail.

“It is woke gone mad,” the source added. “Why not appreciate people of all shapes and sizes like society is saying we should, rather than get rid of it. It’s outrageous.”

Many on Twitter, were also left baffled. One user pointed out that rap is never censored, despite being the most vulgar genre of music.

Another echoed the sentiments of many, writing, “I’m confused, are we or are we not allowed to like fat bottomed girls?”

Biden Takes Worse Losses of Administration, then Takes Vacation in Billionaire’s Home

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Washington Post reported last Thursday that Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russia failed to meet its core objectives and its military is crumbling—marking perhaps the Biden administration’s worst public policy failure to date.

The next day, the Bidens began a weeklong vacation at a billionaire’s multimillion-dollar mansion.

The New York Post reported Saturday that President Joe Biden and his extended family are taking a weeklong Lake Tahoe vacation at the $18 million waterfront mansion of billionaire climate investor and short-lived 2020 Democratic presidential contender Tom Steyer.

“Biden, 80, and his scandal-plagued son Hunter, 53, showed up separately to the six-bedroom Nevada retreat, which is touted on Redfin as ‘one of Lake Tahoe’s finest lakefront properties and the pinnacle waterfront estate within the gated Glenbrook community,’” the Post reported.

The White House released a statement on the matter, saying that “the First Family is renting a private home for their stay in Lake Tahoe. The home belongs to Tom Steyer and Kat Taylor. The First Family is renting the home for fair market value.”

As the Post noted, the White House did not disclose what amount Biden would pay for the home, and it’s unclear how such a private transaction could be verified unless the terms are voluntarily disclosed by the parties.

The vacation comes as Biden takes heat over his apparent disregard to the victims of the Maui fires—punctuated by his smirking “no comment” in response to questions about the devastation.

According to the Post, Biden is “taking a break” from his vacation Monday to visit Maui.

As for his failure in Ukraine, Biden has been mum on the matter.

The timing of Biden’s vacation might be a bad look to voters, if the mainstream media took time to focus on it. Instead, far more mainstream attention has been paid to Justice Clarence Thomas’s relationship with wealthy real estate developer Harlan Crow.

But the media ignoring the Biden family’s philandering is nothing new.

According to RedState, Biden’s stayed the past two Thanksgivings at the home of private-equity billionaire David Rubenstein.

He also vacationed at the home of donor Maria Allwin, whose family runs a hedge fund, last August on Kiawah Island, S.C., and he reportedly didn’t pay for that. He and the extended family also reportedly stayed at the beachfront St. Croix home of Bill and Connie Neville for free in December and January.

The American Thinker noted the hypocrisy of the situation in its Sunday column.

“Where is their outrage …?” the publication asked.

“The answer is that Democrats don’t care about ethics; they only care about power, and they will seek to destroy anyone who gets in their way, whether it is a black man named Thomas or an orange man named Trump.”

Opponents of Texas Bill Banning Foreign Landowners Used CCP Platform to Unify

While several organizations and individuals outwardly claimed a bill banning foreign nationals from countries posing national security threats to the U.S. from purchasing land in Texas was racist and discriminatory, what conspired behind the scenes was an aggressive and coordinated effort to kill the bill using a social media platform with direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, filed SB 147 to ban foreign representatives not legally present in the U.S. and from countries identified as a national security threat listed on the National Threat Assessment from purchasing land in Texas.

She did so, she said, because “some of the authoritarian regimes that pose a threat to the United States do not respect private property rights and are willing to use these rights to undermine our constitutional republic.”

The bill passed the Senate but died in the House State Affairs Committee chaired by state Rep. Todd Hunter, R-Corpus Christi. When asked by the Center Square why Hunter didn’t prioritize the bill or move it out of committee, neither he nor his chief of staff responded to requests for comment.

However, before Hunter killed the bill, several reports identified how WeChat was used to coordinate efforts to kill it and ostracize Kolkhorst and supporters of the bill.

An unclassified U.S. Air Force report obtained by the Center Square from a military source, entitled, “The China Threat,” details how the CCP uses WeChat to engage in “information warfare” against Americans, “whose content is thoroughly regulated by the CCP.”

WeChat, which has over 1 billion users and is the largest social media platform in China, is owned by Tencent, which is heavily governed by the CCP. Fast Company reported earlier this year that the Chinese government sought “golden shares” in Tencent, “opening the door” for the “CCP to establish leverage inside” it.

The Wall Street Journal reported on how the CCP has used “golden shares” to expand control through private companies, resulting in U.S. officials questioning if they are “agents” of the CCP. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also told CBS News in February, “In China, there’s really no distinction between private companies and the state.”

An FBI report has also raised similar concerns, saying, “China seeks to use these seemingly benign relationships and engagements to push its own policy objectives secretly, while hiding the fact that Beijing is behind the request or narrative.” The People’s Republic of China “seeks to undermine our democratic processes and institutions at all levels of government,” it states.

Aware of these threats, an international expert on Chinese influence tactics became alarmed after he noticed WeChat activity targeting the Texas legislature. Seth Kaplan, a professorial lecturer at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, spoke with the Center Square in an exclusive interview to explain his research and what he found.

Kaplan, who lived in China for seven years and is fluent in Mandarin, began investigating how WeChat was used to sabotage the Texas legislative process.

He told the Center Square his concern “is not about singling out any particular group or discriminating about a people based on their background but about the Chinese Communist Party interfering in state politics. As someone who lived in China and researches the CCP’s influence campaigns, Texans need to be aware of what this foreign entity is doing to undermine their democratic rights.”

Kaplan identified a large WeChat public account, “1point3acres (一亩三分地)” and its online forum and website that operates in the U.S. but is managed in Shandong, China.

He found numerous examples of how WeChat was being used to propagate the narrative that SB147 was the “new Chinese Exclusion Act.” After Kolkhorst’s bill was filed, and for months, the narrative framed opposition efforts.

He also identified one Chinese thread that included an article published by the Center Square that Gov. Greg Abbott shared on social media, expressing his support, and saying he would sign it.

Kaplan also found anti-Kolkhorst groups on WeChat appearing to use “CCP-sanctioned campaigns” created to ban supporters of the bill, label them as “Chinese traitors” and report them as spies.

One supporter of the bill posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, screenshots of WeChat users threatening to kill or disable him.

In another thread, a Chinese man from Houston named Stephen says a group was focusing on applying pressure to Sen. Juan Hinojosa, who ended up being the only Democratic senator to vote for Kolkhorst’s bill.

Kaplan believes pro-CCP and anti-democracy propaganda on WeChat encouraged roughly 100 people to protest in Austin when the bill was heard in a committee. One supporter of the bill who testified, Chinese American Bob Fu, thanked Texas DPS for sending two armed state troopers to protect him and other witnesses when they came to Austin.

“CCP brainwashed/organized many Chinese” people to protest at the Texas Capitol, he said, “threatening violence intimidating me/other witnesses.” What occurred was a CCP “disinformation campaign” spreading a false racial hatred narrative,” he added.

Navy JAG and national security law expert Jonathan Hullihan told the Center Square that the orchestrated attack on Kolkhorst’s bill “should be a wake-up call to all Americans that China is engaged in unconventional warfare against the U.S.”

Hullihan—general counsel of Citizens Defending Freedom, a nonprofit advocating for liberty—has been speaking statewide about the dangers of the CCP.

“The time to defend Texas is now,” he said. “In the absence of federal action, Texas must use all legal tools to defend it from CCP foreign influence. Sen. Kolkhorst had the foresight to defend Texas and Gov. Abbott said he would sign her bill. CDF is calling on Gov. Abbott to call a special legislative session to do just that.

“Anyone who opposes her bill is siding with a foreign communist government actively seeking to thwart official Texas legislative business,” he added. “The Texas Legislature represents Texans, not the CCP. Passing her bill is about national security and ensuring the prosperity and liberty for all Texans.”

MTG Tears Into Fulton DA’s ‘Grand Conspiracy’ to Take Down Trump

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., launched a fiery response against the radical left, labeling the recent charges against former President Trump by Fulton County DA Fani Willis as part of a broad “grand conspiracy.”

In an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, Greene said that the Democratic Party is seeking to destroy Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

“Americans are not going to have it,” Greene asserted during a segment on Sunday Morning Futures. “This election is not going to be swayed by indictments against President Trump that are really pure communism in America today.”

The Georgia lawmaker’s remarks come a week after Willis announced charges against Trump and 18 other alleged co-conspirators to violate state law by leading efforts to investigate reports of potential voter irregularities in the state.

Emphasizing the notion of a calculated plot allegedly led by state and federal prosecutors, Greene stated, “This is an attempt to steal the 2024 election from Donald Trump by trying to put him in jail.”

Pressed on the trial’s fairness, the Georgia lawmaker voiced doubt about the assumption that Trump is unlikely to face a fair trial.

“I don’t think he’s going to get a fair trial at all,” Greene added. “As a matter of fact, I don’t think these charges are fair. What Fani Willis is trying to do is exactly what she’s guilty of. She’s charging him with RICO, racketeering and conspiracy in Fulton County, which is a largely Democrat county.”

Greene concluded by highlighting voters’ memory of Trump’s economic achievements. “Americans are going to vote with their wallet and they remember President Trump’s four years. They remember how great our economy was.”

These concerns were echoed by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller, who also appeared during the same segment. Both Greene and Miller believe that Arizona prosecutors are likely to follow suit by filing charges against Trump in relation to the former president’s efforts to question the results of the contentious 2020 presidential election.

Earlier in the interview, Green asserted, “I’m sure Arizona is next and just as Stephen Miller laid out, this is a conspiracy, a grand conspiracy, by the Democrat Party to use the justice system at the federal level but also in the states, using these state D.A.’s like in Georgia, Fani Willis, they are using Arizona, they’re using New York and using this giant collaboration basically to affect the 2024 election.”

According to CBS News, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is leading an investigation on an alleged effort to funnel alternative electors in the state.

“We are taking this investigation very seriously, very solemnly,” Mayes claimed in a statement to local media. “We’re going to do it on our timetable as justice demands.”

‘Nothing Unusual’: David Weiss’s Ties to Biden Family Emerge in Report

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) U.S. District Attorney David Weiss and President Joe Biden’s oldest son, the late Beau, had a working relationship years before Weiss would unleash a criminal probe into Hunter Biden.

The ties between the two attorneys date back to Beau’s time as the attorney general of the state of Delaware, a role he held from 2007 until his untimely death in 2015.

According to a lengthy report from the leftist Washington Post, Weiss, who then served as an assistant attorney in the U.S. district attorney’s office of Delaware, held constant communications with Beau in connection with several criminal cases.

The relationship was confirmed by Tim Mullaney Sr., a former chief of staff to Beau, in an interview with the newspaper.

“We are always working hand-in-glove with federal government; there’s nothing unusual about that,” Mullaney Sr. admitted, dismissing potential allegations that Weiss is too connected to the Biden family.

Mullaney Sr. added that it is unlikely that Beau and Weiss had a relationship outside of work. “Everybody knows everybody in Delaware, and it wasn’t unusual to see [Joe Biden] at the bookstore, the ice cream shop. It is normal,” he claimed.

As reported by the Washington Post, several prominent Republican leaders have highlighted that Weiss, a Democrat, was hand-picked by the two Democratic U.S. senators to serve as district attorney during the Trump administration.

Former President Donald Trump warned on August 11 that he did not pick Weiss to serve as attorney general, despite signing off the recommendation of the two Democrat senators. “David Weiss was picked by the two Democrat Senators from Delaware under ‘Blue Slip.’ He would not have been picked by me,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Trump’s remarks were echoed by his supporters in the U.S. Congress. “Mr. Weiss has been compromised,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in an interview with Fox News. A spokesperson for House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, echoed these remarks, telling the Washington Post that Weiss “can’t be trusted.”

The Washington Post’s report comes a week after Attorney General Merrick Garland elevated Weiss to special counsel, giving him the authority to potentially file charges against Hunter outside of Delaware.

Weiss requested the elevation shortly after the rupture of what several Republicans deemed a “sweetheart deal” that gave Hunter no jail time for tax charges.

Weiss was sworn in as district attorney for Delaware in 2018 and was allowed to stay in the role once Biden took over the White House in 2021.

Biden Caught Secretly Selling Off Trump-era Border Wall Parts: Exposé

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A new report has caught the Biden administration reportedly selling off material intended for the construction of the border wall first initiated during the Trump presidency.

The move, first reported by the New York Post on Saturday, sparked outrage among Republican leaders who deemed the controversial sale as a threat to national security and an utter waste of taxpayer dollars.

As unveiled by the Post, “Since April, GovPlanet, an online auction house specializing in military surplus, has sold 81 lots of steel ‘square structural tubes’ — intended for use as vertical bollards in the border barrier’s 30-foot-tall panels — hauling in about $2 million.”

The apparently secret sale comes on the heels of Republican-sponsored legislation that received the green light from the Democratic-led Senate. The legislation would mandate Biden to expand the already-existing border walls, a move that garnered support from several prominent GOP figures.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., voiced her criticism via a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Biden is quietly auctioning off millions of dollars worth of border wall parts from the Trump administration,” Blackburn said.

The Tennessee lawmaker added, “This includes $300 million in taxpayer-funded wall components that have been left to rust since Biden took office. This is disgraceful.”

Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that Biden should be using these materials for their intended purpose.

“Instead of securing the border, President Biden is auctioning off taxpayer-funded wall materials for pennies on the dollar,” Ernst remarked. “He cannot avoid Congress’ accountability and must use these parts for their intended purposes. BUILD the wall and FINISH it!”

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., depicted the situation as emblematic of the administration’s approach, saying, “Leaving the border open to terrorists while selling border security materials at a loss is Bidenomics in a nutshell.”

In comments to the Post, Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. slammed the Biden regime’s decision to get rid of the materials. “Our borders continue to be overrun by an unprecedented number of illegal immigrants, turning every district into a border district, and compromising our national security,” Stefanik said.

Ex-NY Gov. Warns of Imminent Migrant-Driven ‘Revolt’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former New York Gov. David Paterson issued a stark caution on Sunday regarding the escalating turmoil triggered by the influx of undocumented immigrants in U.S. cities.

Speaking during a Sunday interview on John Catsimatidis’s radio show on WABC 770AM radio, Paterson, a Democrat, raised concerns over the lack of federal response to the burgeoning crisis, caused by the Biden administration’s open-border policies.

“There does not seem to be any willingness or ability on the part of the federal government,” Paterson stated as reported by the New York Post, emphasizing the administration’s apparent disregard for the chaos.

He further criticized what he believed to be inadequate financial support, adding, “The federal government just decided they are sending the people in, and we should just be happy. I don’t know what it is that they expect. They sent really no money.”

Paterson’s remarks echoed previous statements by New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who has called on the Biden administration to address the origins of the chaos.

In the interview, Paterson similarly painted a grim picture of potential unrest if the issue persists, warning of a potential “city versus country revolt.”

“It could in some ways backfire when other cities have the same problem as New York City,” Paterson added referring to the chaos that could ensue in other American cities. “There might be a kind of city versus country revolt — which we probably need at this point.”

While highlighting the public’s empathy towards immigrants, Paterson advocated for a measured approach to assistance.

“I think most people are very sympathetic to the plight of the migrants and would like to help,” the former governor continued. “But as in any situation, even when you’re giving to charity, you give as much as you can, not as much as they think you should.”

Paterson also criticized the hurried implementation of the so-called border strategy, suggesting that the Biden administration should have taken more time to address the facilities of receiving locations.

“This is the kind of plan that should never have been enacted within a year,” he stated. “[The Biden administration] should have taken a year to try to adjust the facilities and the capacity of a city or a town or wherever you’re sending migrants.”

Inflation Among Top Issues for Voters

(Brett Rowland, The Center Square) – Voters of all stripes said they are concerned about inflation and price increases more than almost any other issue ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Inflation has squeezed the budgets of American families as prices for food, fuel, housing and other staples have increased. The Center Square Voters’ Voices Poll, conducted in conjunction with Noble Predictive Insights, found it was among the top three issues for 44% of 2,500 registered voters surveyed.

US Dept of Labor Inflation Annual

Among Republicans, inflation was among the top three issues for half of those surveyed. That was followed by illegal immigration (42%), government corruption (26%) and economy/jobs (25%).

It was also the top issue for independent voters. Among independents, inflation (40%) was followed by crime/violence (28%), economy/jobs (26%), government corruption and illegal immigration (both 22%).

For Democrats, the top issue was climate change (44%), followed by inflation (40%), abortion rights (35%), crime/violence (30%) and health care access (29%).

“Inflation was actually high across all three groups,” said Mike Noble, founder and CEO of Noble Predictive Insights. “Inflation is a huge pain point, huge concern. So I think we’re going to see a lot of talking about that during this election.”

More Democrats (30%) and independents (28%) said crime/violence was a top issue than Republicans (24%).

TCS-VVP - Story 4 - Sidebar - Importance of Key Issues - Party Splits.png

Independent voters were more aligned with Republicans on a number of issues, including national debt/government spending, illegal immigration and government corruption, among other issues. But independents were more closely aligned with Democrats on issues such as health care access and climate change.

The poll was conducted by Noble Predictive Insights from July 31 to Aug. 3. Unlike traditional national polls, with a limited respondent count of about 1,000, Noble Predictive surveyed 1,000 registered Republicans, 1,000 registered Democrats, and 500 independents, culminating in a sample size of 2,500. The margin of error for the aggregate sample was ±2.4%, with each political group independently weighted. For information about the methodology, visit www.noblepredictiveinsights.com.
