Cleveland Catholic Schools Ban All LGBT Affiliation and Behaviors

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Over 100 Catholic schools in Cleveland, Ohio, announced that they will no longer allow LGBTQ+ affiliation or behaviors from students, faculty or staff.

The changes resulted from the recently released guidelines on sexuality and gender from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, according to the Daily Wire.

The diocese explained that the changes within the schools were simply a formal policy version of the guidelines.

“Since questions of sex, sexuality, and gender identity have become increasingly prevalent in our society, it is our hope that the policy will help to ensure these matters are addressed in a consistent and authentically Catholic manner across our diocesan institutions and diocesan Catholic schools, and that those we serve will have a clear understanding about expectations and accommodations related to those matters,” stated the diocese.

The new school rules ban the use of preferred pronouns; restricts bathroom and facility usage to biological sex; prohibits boys from attending classes, participating in sports, and programs for girls and vice versa; forbids same-sex dates to school dances; bans any form of LGBT advocacy; and prohibits gender transition of any kind.

The policy also required teachers or other staff members to notify a child’s parents in the event they share their gender confusion.

The Biblically-sound effects all policy offices, parishes, parish schools and diocesan schools and the students, staff, faculty, volunteers and others that reside in them.

While the statement acknowledged the existence of gender dysphoria, they emphasized a solution of grace, kindness and encouraging students to accept their God-given gifts.

“This understanding erases those intentional, embodied distinctions between men and women,” the policy, written by Bishop Edward Malesic. “As such, this view is contrary to the divinely revealed reality of our true, God-given human nature.”

Bishop Malesic published a separate letter emphasizing the importance of the unity of body and soul.

“The human person is a unity of body and soul; we experience the world through our bodies, and it is through the virtuous expression of our bodies that we reveal God,” said Malesic. “Through times of questioning and confusion, we must accompany our brothers and sisters in Christ with compassion, mercy, and dignity so that we might lovingly help them navigate the confusion and arrive at truth.”

The statement caused quite a stir in the city. Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb accused the Bishop of a “shocking betrayal” of church teachings.

“For me, faith is about universal love and acceptance,” said Bibb. “Instead, the new policy forces LGBTQ+ kids to hide their authentic selves and attend schools in fear of persecution for who they are.”

Biden Lobs Racist Insults and Lies in Stunning Display of Cognitive Decline

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) President Joe Biden hit the racist insult, blundering gaffe and deep delusion trifecta during a speech this week when he denigrated one of his largest voting blocks, lied repeatedly and again got lost on stage.

Veering wildly off course during a speech touting his eponymous economic policy and gaslighting how Bidenomics is tackling inflation, the fabulist-in-chief kept intact his track record for dropping whoppers.

“Our democracy is under attack. We gotta fight for it,” said the president who has weaponized his Justice Department to attack his political rivals and try to imprison former president Donald Trump.

“I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory,” Biden boasted, despite having never taught a class at UPenn.

Cross-pollinating lies with racism, Biden denigrated blacks and Hispanics by claiming Bidenomics has done wonders for driving down unemployment.

“We’ve seen record-lows in unemployment, particularly, and I’ve focused on this my whole career, particularly for African Americans and Hispanic workers and veterans — you know, the workers without high school diplomas,” Biden slurred.

Biden, also for his whole career, has been dropping racist insults, noted RedState.

“We’ve seen this from Joe before when he speaks about minorities,” Nick Arama wrote. “Remember the ‘poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids’ remark?” the outlet also reminded that it was only two years ago when Biden suggested that “Hispanic and African American” people would have difficulties registering online for the COVID vaccine.

Florida Republican Congressional candidate Lavern Spicer did an even deeper dive into Biden’s racist past.

In a change of pace from his usual hair-sniffing escapades, Biden got equally cringy critiquing Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s biceps.

Biden wrapped the event by once again getting lost on stage before his handlers could corral him in the right direction, and again refused to address the myriad legal woes battering Biden Inc. and his son Hunter, who earlier this week was indicted on federal felony gun charges.

Berkeley Landlords’ Party Celebrating End of Eviction Moratorium Erupts in Violence

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Berkeley, California landlords had a party to celebrate the end of the eviction moratorium that has plagued thousands of landlords throughout numerous cities in the state.

Little did they know that some of their tenants caught wind of the party, showing up and rioting, causing the party to end in violence, the Daily Mail reported.

The city was one of the last in the state to end its COVID-era eviction moratorium, costing many landlords tens of thousands of dollars over the course of the past three years.

After the landlords’ party began, hundreds of renters crowded into the event to crash it, one of them calling the party “deeply cruel.”

In order to celebrate the destructive policy’s conclusion, the Berkeley Property Owners Association threw a party at a local bar.

When the rioters arrived, however, BPOA President Krista Gulbransen said that she “went around and told our members to remain quiet, and peaceful and not engage, and they didn’t.”

According to her account, people soon began shoving each other, and the event became more violent. Soon thereafter, she was shoved to the ground as “multiple fights” broke out.

BPOA spokesperson Becky Warren said that the police arrived at the scene, but refused to intervene because it was a “political” dispute.

“Hostile dissidents disrupted a private gathering at a local restaurant to intimidate, harass, and physically assault our members who are law-abiding small business owners,” Warren said, noting that the hostile crowd attempted to “escalate, intimidate, and cause harm” to the various members.

Gulbransen and the BPOA have no interest in apologizing.

“We make no qualms about celebrating the end of the eviction moratorium,” she said, adding that “we are celebrating the end of the tenants who could have paid rent, and chose not to.”

According to another BPOA report, an elderly attendee was punched in the face.

Pipeline Problems Could Cut Off Nation’s 100-Year Gas Supply

(A recent analysis determined the United States sits on a century’s worth of gas supply, but industry experts warn there aren’t enough pipelines to access it.

The report from the Potential Gas Committee, part of the Colorado School of Mines, found that the country had technically recoverable gas resources of 3,353 trillion cubic feet, a 0.5% decrease from its 2020 estimate.

Despite this, however, total future supply has hit the highest level recorded by the committee in 60 years.

Steven Sonnenberg of the Colorado School of Mines noted they have seen a “bit of a plateau in recent years,” but “proved reserves are also increasing,” which represents more drilling activity from companies. It also shows more natural gas is moving from potential underground fields to actual reserves.

The Energy Information Administration tracks proved reserves, which are confirmed gas supplies, while the committee tracks unconfirmed probable resources (like field extensions or new pools in discovered natural gas areas), possible resources (like new natural gas fields), and speculative resources (where new basins might be).

“We’re essentially at all-time highs with both cumulative production, crude production, and these gas resource numbers,” Sonnenberg said.

The U.S. consumes about 30 trillion cubic feet of natural gas annually, Sonnenberg noted, which would mean the country has a “100-year resource of natural gas” with its proven and estimated supply.

Natural gas supplies in the Atlantic area, in which Pennsylvania resides, declined by 2.5% to 1,259 Tcf, but remain the most significant part of the country, with 40% of the country’s natural gas supply.

“All of the increases in the Atlantic Area’s assessment since 2016 arose from ongoing evaluation of Appalachian basin shales, predominantly the prolific Marcellus in Pennsylvania and West Virginia,” the committee’s report noted.

Pennsylvania in recent years has seen record revenues from its impact fee, which distributes money to local governments where natural gas production occurs. The Independent Fiscal Office, however, expects those payouts to decline.

Production growth has also stalled, which industry advocates argue is a result of pipeline capacity limits and permitting delays, while environmental groups charge that natural gas production has permanently plateaued.

The committee acknowledges that without more pipelines, the gas supply will sit unused.

“The availability of pipelines to get the product out of the shale gas fields in particular — there’s only so much they can get to market without more of that infrastructure,” Committee President Kristin Carter said. “For that reason, you might have inactive wells … those things will put a hold on the resource assessments.”

Ex-CIA Employee and Alleged Vault 7 Leaker Convicted on Child Porn Charges

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Joshua Schulte, a former CIA employee and the alleged culprit of the biggest leak in agency history, was found guilty of three child pornography charges on Wednesday.

Schulte’s charges stem from an encrypted cache of more than 3,000 child pornographic images and videos found on his home desktop computer.

Some of Schulte’s supporters believe he was the CIA’s patsy for the “Vault 7” leak —which included information about how the CIA used smartphones, smart TVs and almost any device that had a computer chip and was connected to the internet as listening devices.

Schulte’s supporters have noted that the child pornography wasn’t actually his, but that he hosted it on something akin to the 4chan and 8chan servers—something even his supporters admit is still a heinous crime.

Schulte said he never “received” or “disseminated” any child pornography personally. He claimed that child pornographers saw that his server supported “unfettered free speech,” and they exploited it to trade illegal images and videos.

But a jury didn’t buy Schulte’s arguments. The Justice Department celebrated upon the alleged leaker’s conviction.

“Joshua Schulte has already been held accountable for endangering our nation’s security, and today’s verdict holds him accountable for endangering our nation’s children as well,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams in a press release.

Schulte’s conviction for the Vault 7 leaks came last year after his second trial. The jury on his 2020 trial couldn’t reach a decision.

Schulte, as a consequence of the mistrial and lengthy process to prepare for this trial, has been incarcerated since 2018.

He filed a formal complaint in January 2021, explaining to a federal judge that his living conditions were “below that of impoverished persons living in third world countries.”

“It is barbaric and inhumane to lock human beings into boxes for years and years — it is a punishment worse than death,” he wrote.

Schulte, who did not deny his role in the development of the program, said that he was simply the scapegoat for the CIA and FBI, taking the blame for their embarrassing leak and invasive searching procedures.

Some, including former CIA employee John Kiriakou—who blew the whistle on the agency’s post-9/11 torture program—still believe Schulte.

“Prosecutors had literally no forensic evidence that Schulte had taken the data from the CIA and transferred it to WikiLeaks. But they contended that he was a computer genius so brilliant that he was able to cover his tracks,” Kiriakou wrote after Schulte was convicted last year.

“They alleged that he leaked the information because he was a disgruntled former CIA employee who hated his boss, couldn’t get along with his coworkers and sought revenge against the agency,” he wrote.

“That was enough for the jury.”

Red-Pilled Mom of Slain Army Vet Blames Soros DA, Plans Congressional Run in NYC

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The mother of a slain army veteran is planning to run for Congress in New York City, flipping to the Republican Party after witnessing the insanity of left-wing policies, the New York Post reported.

Madeline Brame, has become a supporter of the rule of law after her son, Hason Correa, 35, was beaten and stabbed to death outside of his Harlem apartment in 2018. Correa, an Afghanistan veteran, is survived by his wife and three children.

Brame, who described herself as a “lifelong Democrat,” was in for a rude awakening when she discovered that there would be no justice for her son or his family.

“I was reassured by the [former Manhattan] District Attorney [Cyrus Vance Jr.] that everyone involved in Hason’s killing would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and was confident in what he said, until Alvin Bragg succeeded him,” she said Wednesday, when she announced her candidacy.

Under Bragg’s watch, New York City has descended into a state of brutal crime. Nonetheless, the George-Soros-backed DA continues to prosecute some demographics enthusiastically while letting others off the hook.

“Mr. Bragg set forth in attempting to give slaps on the wrist to all of my son’s killers,” she noted. “I fought him tooth and nail with everything I had, not because I was a well-connected investment banker, or someone with powerful friends in high places, but because I was Hason’s mother, grandmother to his children, and while nothing I do can ever bring him back I was not going to let Bragg or anyone else let my son’s killers walk.”

Following four decades years of unquestioned support for the Democrat agenda, Brame said her son’s death has finally shocked her out of complacency.

“After 40 years, I am proud to say that I am now a Republican,” she announced, concluding that the Democrats have “abandoned the value, and dignity of work in favor of promoting the policies of despair and dependency on the government.”

Her story could make Brame a formidable challenger against far-left “Squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., who is best known for his bombastic rhetoric and sometimes physical confrontationtations with Republican lawmakers in Congress.

As New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has proven, the Biden administration’s callous indifference to quality of life issues for citizens with respect to things like inflation, immigration, homelessness and, of course, violent crime have led many longtime liberals to reconsider their loyalties.

Tucker Interviews Leading Argentina Candidate on Dangers of Socialism and ‘Humble Advice’ for Trump

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) In an interview that Elon Musk characterized as “interesting,” independent journalist Tucker Carlson flew to Buenos Aires to interview Javier Miliei, the presumptive frontrunner in Argentina’s current presidential election cycle.

In a scenario that will seem familiar to Americans, Miliei’s country is mired in a cost-of-living crisis from hyperinflation exacerbated by big government spending and an associated intrusive socialist bureaucracy.

A soundbite machine, Miliei, 52, is an economist and a politician with a quasi Boris Johnson-style haircut who serves in Argentina’s equivalent to the U.S. House of Representatives.

In his campaign platform, he has proposed an array of free-market reforms including cutting public spending to revive the country’s ailing economy.

Describing himself as a libertarian liberal, Milei is a vocal foe of socialism in all its dimensions and is advocate for economic freedom.

He made the latter clear during the impactful 30-minute conversation with the former Fox News star that is well worth viewing in its entirety to get the full context.

“Socialism is a violent, murderous, and impoverishing phenomenon,” the candidate declared.

“There are underlying values within leftist ideas: Envy, hatred, resentment, unequal treatment under the law, and violence,” he said. “The state does not create wealth, the state destroys it. The state can give you nothing, because it produces nothing.”

Branded “far right” by the corporate media and its allied globalist cohort, Milei finished first in the Aug. 13 open presidential primary in Argentina and is headed to a three-way contest with center-left and a center-right rivals on Oct. 22, which will likely culminate in a Nov. 19 runoff election.

“The socialists don’t much like the invisible hand [of the free market]; they prefer the claws of the state,” he said.

In the chat with Carlson, Mielie also provided some advice to Americans.

“Never embrace the ideals of socialism; never allow yourselves to be seduced by the siren song of social justice.”

As far as former U.S. President Donald Trump is concerned, Milei opined that “He should continue his fight against socialism…So I’d say, if I could humbly offer advice, all I could say would be to double down on his efforts in the same direction: defending the ideals of freedom and refusing to give an inch to the socialists.”

He went to imply that the cultural struggle against socialism, a radical agenda that has seeped into sectors such as entertainment, media and education in addition to government in both North and South America, is a 24/7 proposition.

“We cannot take a day off, because when we rest, socialism creeps in.”

Recall that the late Andrew Breitbart famously observed that “politics is downstream from culture.”

Milei, a former professional soccer goalie and Rolling Stones cover band singer, noted the irony that the organized left “is tireless” in trying to “leech off others without working.”

He also called upon wealth creators to invest in institutions and initiatives that defend freedom. “If they don’t do it, they will get into the state, and use the state to impose a long-term agenda that will destroy everything it touches.”

Javier Milei is no fan of social justice either, which he deemed as “deeply unjust.”

Social justice is “stealing the fruits of one person’s labor and giving it to someone else…to support social justice is to support stealing,” he asserted.

At the outset of the video, Carlson explained that Milei is a traditional libertarian as distinguished from the American version, and Milei himself — who happens to be pro-life — acknowledged that his brand of liberalism is far different from the progressive ideology adopted by U.S. liberals.

Milei also criticized Pope Francis, who is from Argentina, for an alleged affinity with communist dictators.

If elected, the potential president vowed not to do business with any communist country, although individual businesses can make their own decisions.

“Life without freedom is not worth living,” Javier Milei insisted.

Thousands Sign Up to Experience Magic Mushrooms as Oregon’s Novel Psilocybin Experiment Takes Off

(Headline USA) Psilocybin tea, wind chimes and a tie-dye mattress await those coming to an office suite in Eugene to trip on magic mushrooms. For roughly six hours, adults over 21 can experience what many users describe as vivid geometric shapes, a loss of identity and a oneness with the universe.

Epic Healing Eugene — Oregon’s first licensed psilocybin service center — opened in June, marking the state’s unprecedented step in offering the mind-bending drug to the public. The center now has a waitlist of more than 3,000 names, including people with depression, PTSD or end-of-life dread.

No prescription or referral is needed, but proponents hope Oregon’s legalization will spark a revolution in mental health care.

Colorado voters last year passed a measure allowing regulated use of magic mushrooms starting in 2024, and California’s Legislature this month approved a measure that would allow possession and use of certain plant- and mushroom-based psychedelics, including psilocybin and mescaline, with plans for health officials to develop guidelines for therapeutic use.

The Oregon Psilocybin Services Section, charged with regulating the state’s industry, has received “hundreds of thousands of inquiries from all over the world,” Angela Allbee, the agency’s manager, said in an interview.

“So far, what we’re hearing is that clients have had positive experiences,” she said.

While psilocybin remains illegal in most of the United States, the Food and Drug Administration in 2018 designated it a “breakthrough therapy.” This summer, the FDA published draft guidance for researchers designing clinical trials for psychedelic drugs.

Researchers believe psilocybin changes the way the brain organizes itself, helping a user adopt new attitudes and overcome mental health issues.

The Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association, however, opposed Oregon’s 2020 ballot measure legalizing psilocybin, saying it “is unsafe and makes misleading promises to those Oregonians who are struggling with mental illness.”

Allbee noted that psychedelic mushrooms have been a part of tribal spiritual and healing practices for thousands of years. Her agency is focused on safety, she said.

First, customers must have a preparation session with a licensed facilitator who stays with clients as they experience the drug. The facilitator can deny access to those who have active psychosis, thoughts of harming anyone, or who have taken lithium, which is used to treat mania, in the past month.

The clients can’t buy mushrooms to go, and they must stay at the service center until the drug wears off.

Besides approving psilocybin, Oregon voters in 2020 decriminalized possession of hard drugs, cementing the state’s reputation as a leader in so-called drug-law reform. Oregon was the first state to decriminalize marijuana possession and one of the first to legalize its recreational use.

But these days, the regulated marijuana industry is struggling with massive oversupply. And drug decriminalization has not greatly expanded addiction treatment or reduced overdoses as hoped. A new poll indicates most voters would repeal it.

It’s too early to assess Oregon’s mushroom legalization.

Oregon Psilocybin Services spent two years establishing regulations and began accepting license applications in January. There are now 10 licensed service centers, four growers, two testing labs and dozens of facilitators.

While Epic Healing Eugene has a long waitlist thanks in part to early media attention, other service centers say business is picking up as awareness spreads.

Omnia Group Ashland, which opened this month in southern Oregon, has a prospective client list of 150, said co-founder Brian Lindley. Jeanette Small, the owner of Lucid Cradle in Bend, said she intends to see only one client per week to give close attention to each and is already booked through December.

The law allows local jurisdictions to ban psilocybin operations, and several rural counties have done so.

There are complaints the cost is too high, but those in the industry expect prices to fall as more businesses are established. A client can wind up paying over $2,000, which helps cover service center expenses, a facilitator and lab-tested psilocybin. Annual licenses for service centers and growers cost $10,000, with a half-price discount for veterans.

Allbee said her agency requires every licensee to work toward social equity goals, with some already providing sliding-scale price models. She expects Oregon’s psilocybin program, currently receiving millions in taxpayer dollars, to be fully supported by licensing fees by mid-2025. She promised to then boost efforts to lower prices.

Cathy Jonas, Epic Healing Eugene’s owner, said she doesn’t expect her service center to start making money for a while. Providing legal access to psychedelic mushrooms is a calling, she said: “The plant medicines have communicated to me that I’m supposed to be doing this thing.”

State regulations allow doses of up to 50 milligrams, but when Jonas tested a 35-milligram sample of pure psilocybin — typically equal to about 6 grams of dried mushrooms — she found it so powerful that she decided it would be the most her facility would offer.

One of Jonas’ first clients took 35 milligrams and described seeing a “kind of infinite-dimension fractal that just kept turning and twisting.”

“It was kind of mesmerizing to watch, but it got so intense,” said the client, who didn’t want to be identified to protect his privacy. “I started to have this experience of dying and being reborn. And then I would kind of see large portions of my life going by in a very rapid way.”

He said the session “was not particularly pleasant,” but that it beneficially transformed how he views painful memories and provided a sought-after mystical experience.

Licensed grower Gared Hansen has come full circle from the 16 years he spent as a police officer in San Francisco. He once busted a psilocybin dealer in Golden Gate Park.

Today, he runs Uptown Fungus, a one-person psilocybin-growing operation in a nondescript building set among towering cedar trees near Springfield, Oregon. He tends mushroom varieties with names like Golden Teacher, Blue Meanies and Pink Buffalo. A 25-milligram dose costs $125.

Hansen said he sometimes meditates with the mushrooms, hoping to imbue them with healing energy.

Little, brown psychedelic mushrooms can be found growing in fields or in the woods, but they can closely resemble poisonous varieties. Hansen and others caution against obtaining psilocybin cheaper on the black market or tripping alone. Service centers provide measured — and often strong — doses in a controlled environment.

“Sometimes part of the healing could be a negative experience someone has to go through, to kind of flush negative emotions out or reexperience some trauma in a healthier way,” Hansen said. “I’d hate to have someone that’s never tried it before take it home, have a bad trip and hurt themselves.”

De-Transed Minn. Woman Sues Doctors Who Cut Off Her Breasts as Teenager

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A Minnesota woman claims that she was tricked by doctors into being diagnosed with so-called “gender dysphoria,” and then was prematurely operated on, permanently mutilating her, the Daily Mail reported.

Luka Hein, now 21, was given a double mastectomy by doctors at age 16. She claims that the doctors pushed her into the “transitional” surgery.

According to her report, she became convinced that she was transgender after following transgender influencers on social media.

Soon thereafter, Hein took a trip to the therapist, who diagnosed with gender dysphoria with an hour, referring her soon thereafter to a doctor to receive a “top” surgery after only two visits.

Hein noted that, as a hormonal teenager, the adults in her life gave way to her impulses.

“I was going through the darkest and most chaotic time in my life, and instead of being given the help I needed, these doctors affirmed that chaos into reality,” she said.

Now Hein lives with daily pain, both physical and emotional.

She also noted that in her view, kids generally cannot think through the implications of such an invasive and permanent decision.

“I don’t think kids can ever consent to having essentially full bodily functions taken away at a young age before they even know what that means.”

Like herself, she noted that numerous other children are being “talked into medical intervention” without understanding “the long-term impacts and consequences.”

As a result of the trauma, Hein has leveled a lawsuit against the University of Nebraska Medical Center, accusing the organization of medical malpractice.

Harmeet Dhillon, the high-profile attorney representing Hein, called it an instance of “really shocking malpractice,” noting that medical professionals used their expertise to construct a “false representation about the mental health fallout from not doing it.”

Though one might think it goes without saying, Dhillon will argue in court that “doctors should not be mutilating and permanently disfiguring children, period, without some medical necessity, which did not present itself in this case.”

Univ. Dean Openly Boasts about Hiring Only Black People

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Robin L. Hughes, a dean at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, publicly boasted of hiring people specifically because of their race prior to the Supreme Court’s decision overturning affirmative action last June.

While not necessarily illegal at the time, Hughes’s confession to the publication Diverse Issues in Higher Education further bolsters critics’ arguments that such programs had far outlived their purpose of leveling the racial playing field, and instead had become systemically discriminatory in favor of those who claimed to be oppressed.

And it raises further questions as to whether academics who so flagrantly violated the spirit of affirmative action will readily comply with the new law of the land or attempt to test its legal limits.

Hughes, who is herself black, was hired as the dean of SIUE’s School of Education, Health and Human Behavior in 2019 and brought with her an extensive background in diversity-related topics, including critical race theory.

She controversially undertook a series of “cluster hires,” a mechanism some use to specifically hire new team members of color in cohorts to create a sense of unity and kinship, according to the Daily Caller.

The dean reported several roadblocks in her attempts to pull off the cluster hires—including accusations that her excessive focus on diversity was too forward, that she hired candidates who were not qualified and that she was hiring some select candidates only because they were black.

Her response to the final accusation: “I absolutely am!”

Some left-wing radicals like Hughes expressed concern that the Supreme Court’s recent ruling against race-based college admissions may affect their ability to perform cluster hires—particularly those explicitly searching for candidates of color.

“I hope that we don’t see the sort of rollback that I think we’re seeing with some of the commitments institutions made around the summer of 2020,” said Candace N. Hall, an SIUE graduate program director and professor, who is black.

“Now we’re seeing institutions reel that in,” Hall added, in reference to the virtue-signaling and platitudes that followed the race riots triggered by the death of George Floyd. “I hope that that’s not the same thing that happens with cluster hires.”

She did not specify what overtly discriminatory hiring practices in academia had to do with preventing police brutality.

Hall joined SIUE as part of a cluster in 2020, and reportedly remains close with them.

She even hosted bi-weekly bonfires at her home to encourage camaraderie between the new hires.

Her cluster was “the biggest thing that helped sustain her,” she said. “I don’t know if I would have survived the pandemic.”

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s overturn of affirmative action, several lawsuits concerning race- based hiring practices are now making their way through the court system.

The conservative legal watchdog American Alliance for Equal Rights sued two major law firms for violations of the Civil Rights Act of 1866 for excluding white people from diversity fellowship opportunities.

America First Legal sued Meta, parent company of Facebook, for allegedly supporting race-based hiring.
