Yellen: ‘Climate Change’ Affecting Other Countries a ‘Priority’ for Treasury Dept.

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that “climate change” and subsequent “adverse effects on developing countries” were still a top priority for the department, even though Americans have been struggling with inflation and surging costs of living since Joe Biden stepped into the Oval Office.

After returning from the G20 economic summit in India, Yellen revealed that information to CNBC on Monday, according to the Trending Politics.

“I want to ask you about your trip this week and your top priorities and messages for world leaders at a time where, if you look at the global economy, you mentioned China’s weaker than expected. Europe is also showing some more weakness. Germany going negative in growth. What are you saying to them?” CNBC host Sara Eisen said.

In her response to the mainstream media propagandist, Yellen highlighted how neither she nor her department prioritizes Americans and that they are focused on “measures to address issues in the global economy and to achieve stronger and sustainable growth.”

“Russia’s continuing brutal war in Ukraine is having a very adverse impact, and we’re spending time this week discussing food prices and what we can do to alleviate hunger and shortages of food, especially since the Black Sea Green Initiative [that] Russia has ended,” she said.

Yellen then added that the other thing that she and other bureaucrats were concerned about was climate change.

“We’re focused on climate change and the adverse impact that’s having on developing countries, on emerging markets. It interacts with the scarcity of food. And we’re focused on greatly expanding the amount of aid and private investment that we can channel into emerging markets in developing countries around the world,” she said.

After that, Yellen said that she and other leftists would use this talking point as an excuse to push globalism down people’s throats.

“We have the initiative to enable the World Bank and the other multilateral development banks to greatly expand their provision of resources and to mobilize private capital for climate change,” she said.

Among other issues that the department is concerned about is the prevention of “future pandemics,” Yellen added.

“We’re focused on health, preventing future pandemics, and mobilizing funds, both public and private, through the president’s partnership for global investment with the G7 to boost infrastructure development in a meaningful way, infrastructure investment around the world,” she said.

Bribery Biden Snubs NYC Mayor Visit After Fiery Criticism

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) During his visit to the UN General Assembly this week, President Joe Biden conspicuously snubbed NYC Mayor Eric Adams, escalating the simmering tension between the two men over illegal immigration. This move came after the city’s scathing criticism of Biden’s open border policy.

Biden opted for campaign events and engagements at the UN in Manhattan rather than meeting with Adams, the New York Post reported on Tuesday.

“Everybody knows where I am,” Adams responded when asked about Biden’s absence. “You guys know where I am all the time. We release if we’re going to be with the president or not.”

The mayor also drew attention to the financial impact of illegal immigration embroiling the city. “I am hoping that he understands this beautiful city that’s the economic engine of the entire country is been saddled with a $2 billion,” Adams added.

Adams continued, “New York doesn’t deserve this, the asylum seekers don’t deserve this. And so while he’s here, I think that they should really reflect on, New York City has done its part.”

This snub wasn’t the first time Biden had faced criticism for his actions regarding New York City. He previously faced backlash for skipping the city on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, drawing ire from U.S. veterans. “It is a terrible look,” a City Hall individual remarked of Biden’s latest snub.

Adams and Biden have recently found themselves at odds over immigration policies. Adams has repeatedly warned that Biden’s open border approach will “destroy New York City.”

In a bold statement on Sept. 6., Adams declared, “Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. … The city we knew, we’re about to lose.”

Furthermore, during Vice President Kamala Harris’s visit to the city for the 9/11 memorial, she mostly ignored Adams while reportedly engaging in friendly exchanges with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

National Debt Surpasses $33 Trillion

(The U.S. gross national debt surpassed $33 trillion, a troubling benchmark as lawmakers show little interest in reining in spending, let alone a balanced budget.

The milestone comes as Congress faces a deadline of Sept. 30 to pass another spending measure or face a federal government shutdown.

“$1 trillion more debt… SINCE JUNE!” Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., wrote on social media. “Now $33 trillion. Your family’s share is over $260,000. The swamp’s answer: let’s do another CR.”

The current deficits mean that debt will only continue to grow. Earlier this month, the U.S. Congressional Budget Office published its estimate of the deficit 11 months into the fiscal year which reported that the U.S. deficit hit about $1.5 trillion. At the same point last year, the deficit was under one trillion dollars.

That debt has several economic consequences, including elevated inflation and taxpayers shelling out billions just for interest payments on the debt.

As the Center Square previously reported, within a decade the cost of interest payments on the national debt will cost taxpayers more than spending on national defense.

In addition, interest payments on the national debt are on track to become the federal government’s biggest expense.

Some Republicans blasted President Joe Biden after the news broke.

“The U.S. national debt has exceeded $33 trillion for the first time in history,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., wrote on social media. “Biden’s reckless spending has created an economic crisis.”

Both parties, though, have rapidly added to the national debt over the last two decades.

“We’re $33 trillion in debt because when Congress passes spending bills, each item is often tied to every other item—packaged together in one, gigantic bill,” Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, wrote on social media. “That bill is then presented to Congress on a take-it-or-leave-it basis, with no real chance to amend, improve, or cut.”

Budget experts and fiscal projections show the debt will only get larger over the next decades.

“The Congressional Budget Office confirmed just last week that the underlying deficit is going to roughly double from last fiscal year to this one,” Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, said in a statement.

“Instead of hearing about solutions, we hear promises of which programs our leaders are unwilling to touch and which taxes they are unwilling to raise,” she added. “That kind of talk is not only pandering, but it’s also downright irresponsible when we have a mess like this on our hands.”

As the Center Square previously reported, a bipartisan coalition of budget and fiscal groups formed a coalition to call on Congress to create a fiscal commission to address the issue.

The group of experts sent a letter to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

“We write to encourage the establishment of a bipartisan fiscal commission to help address the nation’s many budgetary and economic challenges,” the open letter said. “Though the recent Fiscal Responsibility Act improved the nation’s fiscal outlook, the national debt continues to approach record levels, major trust funds remain at risk of insolvency, and rising interest costs are increasingly crowding out other priorities.”

House Schedules First Biden Impeachment Inquiry Hearing

(The Republican-led House Oversight Committee announced its first impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is scheduled for Sept. 28, next Thursday.

The impeachment inquiry committee will have power to subpoena records and communications to dig up evidence and will likely be a thorn in Biden’s side heading into the 2024 election year.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., last week directed three House committees to lead the inquiry, pointing to evidence that the president’s son Hunter and his associates allegedly received millions of dollars from foreign entities and that the president knew about it.

Biden’s supporters immediately pushed back, arguing there was no evidence for the inquiry. McCarthy responded, saying the inquiry is to find the facts and that there is plenty of evidence. He pointed to about 150 U.S. Treasury Department suspicious activities reports filed by the agency around Hunter Biden’s dealings as well as bank records and testimony from IRS whistleblowers who said the Biden family and associates received around $20 million from entities in adversarial nations.

“The Treasury Department alone has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family and other business associates that were flagged as suspicious activity by U.S. banks,” McCarthy said in his announcement.

“Even a trusted FBI informant has alleged a bribe to the Biden family,” he added. “Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partners about Hunter’s role in Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.”

Biden has repeatedly dismissed questions about his involvement in any kind of overseas payment scheme. He brushed aside the impeachment inquiry, but his campaign released a more aggressive statement in response.

“As Donald Trump ramped up his demands for a baseless impeachment inquiry, Kevin McCarthy cemented his role as the Trump campaign’s super-surrogate by turning the House of Representatives into an arm of his presidential campaign,” Ammar Moussa, spokesperson Biden’s presidential campaign, said in a statement.

“…McCarthy unequivocally said he would not move forward with an impeachment inquiry without holding a vote on the House floor,” he added. “What has changed since then?”

He went on to claim that Republicans themselves were in disagreement over the impeachment, while appearing to mischaracterize the nature of that disagreement. Some have said that the evidence to impeach does not yet exist, while others are confident it has already revealed itself.

Nonetheless, the purpose of the investigative inquiry is to force agencies that have been stonewalling the Oversight Committee and others to provide the necessary materials with the full force of the law behind them.

The impeachment inquiry will be led by House Oversight Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., as well as Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, of the Judiciary Committee as well as Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., who leads the Ways and Means Committee.

Patrick on Paxton Impeachment: ‘Millions of Taxpayer Dollars’ Wasted

(Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick on Monday made good on a promise in calling for an audit of all impeachment expenses to get a full picture of how much the House General Investigating Committee cost Texas taxpayers, including the GIC’s secret investigation it began in March, the House impeachment proceedings and all House and Senate trial-related costs.

On Saturday, Patrick gave a statement after the Senate voted to acquit Attorney General Ken Paxton of all charges. He chastised the House managers, Speaker Dade Phelan, and House General Investigating Committee chair Andrew Murr, R-Junction, for bringing impeachment charges without evidence to support their charges.

In addition to calling for an audit, he also called for the legislature to propose a constitutional amendment to be put to voters that would create impeachment processes so “an impeachment should never happen again in the House like it happened this year.”

He said the House violated the rules of evidence and ignored previous House precedent.

“Millions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted on this impeachment,” Patrick said. “I will call for a full audit of all taxpayer money spent by the House from the beginning of their investigation in March to today,” the conclusion of the trial on Saturday.

That included the costs incured by Patrick himself and the members of the upper chamber who lost valuable work hours being subjected to the spurious hearing, in which Paxton’s lawyers gave what many considered to be a dominating performance.

“We will provide our costs as well that were forced on us by the House impeachment,” Patrick said. “One big difference is that the Senate did not pay a huge team of outside lawyers and investigators.”

On Monday, Patrick sent an official request to the state auditor to report all expenses from the state legislature related to the impeachment trial of AG Paxton.

He wrote to State Auditor Lisa Collier requesting that her office “immediately begin a special audit, pursuant to Government Code Section 321.0135, to determine the total amount of financial expenditures, encumbrances and future unpaid obligations” resulting from the investigation.

“… To be clear, the goal is to determine the absolute total cost to the state of preparing for and conducting this trial from the beginning through its conclusion,” Patrick said.

“This must detail all expenses, including but not limited to, investigators expenses, document production and assembly, attorney expenses, witness fees, travel, food and lodging,” he added. “This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Please determine and report on all expenses; if there are invoices outstanding, we seek to know what they are and when they will be received.”

He also requested that Collier prioritize the audit and that when her report is finished to send a copy to each member of the legislature “as soon as possible.”

House Speaker Dade Phelan, R-Beaumont, remained unapologetic after the Senate’s vote, saying the Senate “didn’t do its job.” He also said in a statement that Patrick’s “tirade disrespects the Constitutional impeachment process.”

Rep. Andrew Murr, R-Junction, also remained unapologetic after the Senate vote and said the House brought “uncontested, uncontroverted evidence of Mr. Paxton’s corruption. We did our duty to bring the evidence into the sunlight through this impeachment process.”

He also said, “we met our burden of proof.”

When asked by a reporter if he would have done things differently, he replied, “I would not do anything differently.”

Both Phelan and Murr already have Republican primary opponents. Several House members have called on Phelan to resign.

REPORT: Fauci and Wife Had Net Worth of $11M During His Last Year in Biden Admin

(Headline USA) Former COVID czar Anthony Fauci and his wife had a net worth of more than $11 million during his last year in the Biden administration, according to government records.

Fauci and Christine Grady, who heads the bioethics department at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, saw their wealth skyrocket over the past decade.

During the pandemic years, specifically, Fauci’s income experienced a dramatic boost. The couple reported a cumulative income of $7.6 million in 2019, to $12.6 million in 2021, down to $11.5 million in late 2022.

The net worth increase was the result of cash awards, salary hikes, royalties and investment gains, according to Fox News.

“Dr. Fauci’s guidance had enormous consequences for public health and our economy, all while his wife is the top bio-ethicist at the NIH,” Adam Andrzejewski, the CEO of conservative watchdog Open the Books, said in a statement.

“Together, they became decamillionaires even though they are thought of as public servants compensated with our tax dollars,” Andrzejewski said.

Fauci was the highest paid employee in the federal government before he retired, receiving $481,000 in 2022.

In retirement, Fauci is likely still “collecting a federal pension which rivals a presidential salary,” Andrzejewski said. “It’s the largest federal retirement package in history.”

He also secured a new position as a “distinguished professor” at Georgetown University and may even be enjoying unauthorized government perks such as a limo driver and security detail.

Most of his additional income during the pandemic came from awards and speaking engagements, the records show.

In 2021, for example, the Israel-based Dan David Foundation gave him $901,400 for “defending science” and “speaking truth to power” during the Trump presidency.

A spokesperson for the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic said they plan to “thoroughly investigate potential profiteering from pandemic celebrity” Fauci.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Americans lost their livelihoods and had their businesses shuttered by the nation’s highest-paid career bureaucrat, Dr. Tony Fauci,” the spokesperson noted.

Democrats Let Loose on Biden’s Age: ‘His Death Is Imminent’

(Headline USA) Democrat officials across the country are opening up about their concerns about President Joe Biden’s age and “imminent death” ahead of the 2024 election, according to the Washington Post.

With more than 70% of voters expressing concerns about Biden’s age, Democrat leaders said they are worried the soon-to-be-81-year-old president’s health could prevent the him from winning reelection.

“He is in a period of his life where passing and death is imminent,” Sharon Sweda, the leader of the Democratic Party in Lorain County in Ohio, told the outlet. “We are all on a ticking clock. But when you’re at his age or at Trump’s age, that clock is ticking a little faster, and that’s a concern for voters.”

The false equivalency between the two frontrunners has been a common theme among NeverTrumpers, including retiring Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, who called on both Biden and Trump to do the same.

It comes as polls show Trump with a four point advantage over Biden despite the best efforts of his opponents to neutralize him with spurious lawfare attacks including 91 counts in four different lawsuits brought by corrupt prosecutors in New York, Florida, Georgia and Washington, D.C.

Voters also remain convinced that Trump, 77, remains considerably more lucid and capable, both mentally and physically, of performing the duties of the office.

A Democrat lawmaker who wished to remain anonymous said the party is concerned there won’t be a viable back-up option to Biden if he has to drop out of the 2024 race within the next year.

“The worst-case scenario is we get past the nominating process with President Biden as the nominee, and then he’s no longer able to continue on as the nominee,” the lawmaker said. “That’s the nightmare scenario for Democrats.”

Vice President Kamala Harris’s net approval has been underwater since five months into her term and has only continued to widen, with the current margin of negative 15 points making her the most unpopular vice president in recorded history.

Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville said the party should also be concerned about Biden’s age driving down enthusiasm among both Democrat and independent voters.

“The voters don’t want this, and that’s in poll after poll after poll,” Carville told the New York Times on Monday. “You can’t look at what you look at and not feel some apprehension here.”

The most recent general-election match-up has Biden losing to just about every Republican candidate, including Trump, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.

Biden’s chief rival, Trump, has notably refrained from criticizing Biden over his age, and has instead argued that Biden’s mental deterioration is the real problem.

“He’s not too old at all. He’s grossly incompetent,” Trump said last week.

Fetterman Defends Dressing Like a ‘Slob,’ Claims He Will Do So ‘Sparingly’

(Headline USA) Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., defended the Senate’s newly relaxed dress code as “freeing,” but claimed he planned to take advantage of it only “sparingly,” despite having regularly been seen at work-related functions in violation of the old dress code, which required lawmakers to show up in a suit and tie.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced the rule change this week after requesting that the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms no longer enforce the Senate dress code.

“Senators are able to choose what they wear on the Senate floor,” Schumer said of the decision.

During an interview with MSNBC, host Chris Hayes asked Fetterman—who has been wearing casual clothing, such as gym shorts and sweatshirts, within the U.S. Capitol building following his bout with depression—whether he supports the change.

“Of course, I’ve heard about it,” replied Fetterman, who was also known for campaigning in hoodies and gym shorts prior to his election to the Senate.

“I’ve heard that some people are upset about that, and the Right have been like losing their mind,” he continued. “You know, they’re just like, ‘Oh my god, you know, dogs and cats are living together,’ and you know, like I said, aren’t there more important things we should be talking about rather than if I dress like a slob?”

Fetterman was barred from entering the U.S. Senate chamber multiple times for being inappropriately dressed, and had to vote from the door of the Senate instead of from the floor. He argued the new rules were more “freeing.”

“I feel it’s a little more freedom, which should be bipartisanship,” he claimed. “I think it’s a good thing, but I’m going to use it sparingly. I hope other colleagues take advantage of it too.”

Republicans have blasted Schumer and the rest of the Democratic caucus for encouraging unprofessionalism.

“This is a terribly sad development for the U.S. Senate,” Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., said in a statement. “I’ve never seen civility enhanced or a sense of decorum enhanced by dressing like a slob.”

Lummis said Fetterman should have more respect for the constituents he represents—and for himself.

“When you dress like that around here, which is the very sloppiest that a person would dress even if they’re going to a gym by themselves … the bar is lowered,” she argued.

“The Senate is degraded. It’s debased,” she added. “It should not be typical of how we dress when we go to the floor of the United States Senate.”

Texas Real-Estate Developer Giving Home Loans to Illegals to Create Cartel City

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A Texas land developer has decided to create a city of illegal immigrants by giving out easy home loans to new foreigners, the Daily Wire reported.

The sprawling settlement of Colony Ridge is located north of Houston, consuming over 60 square miles of land. Its population—most of whom are presumed to be illegal immigrants—is already estimated to be somewhere between 50,000 and 75,000.

The “town” is reportedly filled with stray dogs, dilapidated buildings, half-finished construction and full-time tent campers.

Colony Ridge is the brainchild of developer William “Trey” Harris, who is using what most would consider to be predatory lending practices that exploit the vulnerability and desperation of newly arrived illegals looking for a place to live.

While American citizens will be required to undergo traditional financing methods–including credit checks and proof of income—Colony Ridge buyers have been allowed to circumvent all normal procedures due to their “victim” status, according to Todd Bensman, a national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies.

“With a traditional bank loan you need to be able to show that you have a credit rating and proof of income,” Bensman said, noting that the buyers at Colony Ridge are only expected to provide down payments of a few hundred dollars.

“The loan is directly from the developer, bypassing traditional mortgages,” Bensman added.

He said Harris was charging maximal interest rates, approximately 15%, to secure his operation’s feasibility.

Making matters worse, “there’s very thin law-enforcement presence in that area,” meaning that an entire city is growing up outside of the law of the United States.

Despite its substandard conditions, an unprecedented immigration crisis—coupled with a president unwilling to do anything about it—mean interest in Colony Ridge has been booming.

Michael Yon, an independent journalist who has documented the expansion of Colony Ridge, noted that the town is primed for a population explosion.

“I don’t know how many live there now, but this is going to be big enough for 200,000 people,”  Yon said. “They’re actually building a city.”

Biden Admin Allocates $5M to Support Journalists Traumatized by Online Trolling

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) The Biden administration approved nearly $6 million in funding for journalists in need of therapy after allegedly facing trolling online.

George Washington University, which received the funding for the program—called Expert Voices Together—described it as “a socio-technical system that provides real-time support to experts experiencing online harassment,” according to the Daily Caller.

The government created the program hoping to provide journalists and other alleged experts an outlet for “monitoring and reporting” purported abuse by strangers on the internet. The system was also designed to provide “personalized assistance with digital safety” and “trauma-informed care.”

The National Science Foundation donated $749,222 to the cause in 2021, and an additional $5 million in 2022.

The NSF announced their hopes that the program would slow the “rapid spread of misinformation” by instilling confidence in journalists and other so-called experts.

“Harassment undermines confidence in pivotal sources of knowledge and reduces expert participation in the information system,” the abstract from the NSF read.

The Poynter Institute assisted in the initial pilot program, as they “have already identified their staff’s safety and well-being as a key priority.”

High profile journalists such as Taylor Lorenz previously expressed their horror and fear at people’s attacks on social media.

In a Meet the Press interview with Lorenz, she broke down when explaining that online trolling was “horrifying” and invasive.

“You feel like any little piece of information that gets out on you will be used by the worst people on the internet to destroy your life and it’s so isolating,” Lorenz said. She also claimed to have “severe PTSD.”

Not long after, Lorenz doxxed Libs of TikTok, demanded Twitter delete the account and outed Chaya Raichik as the owner of the account. She also went to the homes of Raichik’s family members.

Because of the invasive doxxing, Raichik faced threats of kidnapping, arson, assault and being sold into slavery.
