Midterm Elections Deliver a Total Republican Bloodbath

(Headline USA) Democrats dominated the early results of the 2026 elections, with the Republicans expected to lose the House and Senate—along with a number of gubernatorial seats.

Tuesday’s GOP bloodbath was highlighted by Amy Acton’s stunning victory over Vivek Ramaswamy in the Ohio gubernatorial race, as well as Annie Andrews’s win over the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sister, Darline Graham.

In addition, Texas turned blue. Democrat James Talarico flipped a U.S. Senate seat in that state, defeating Republican Ken Paxton, while Gov. Greg Abbott appeared to be on his way out, too.

Democrat Sherrod Brown also won the election to U.S. Senate from Ohio.

Meanwhile, Republican Tom Tiffany conceded defeat Tuesday in the Wisconsin governor’s race.

Republicans did manage to hold ground in Florida. Republican Rep. Byron Donalds was elected as the state’s first black governor on Tuesday, albeit in an unexpectedly competitive race against Democrat David Jolly.

The Trump administration’s war with Iran, which have prompted higher gas prices, were among the leading factors observers attributed to Tuesday’s results. Outgoing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expressed those critiques earlier in the day.

The Republican bloodbath was continuing as of this article’s publication. Headline USA will cover the results further later Wednesday.
