SELLERS: Why Talk of the Roman Empire Has Democrats So Nervous

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) If men (with the exception of Mike Pence) somehow were not thinking several times a day about the Roman Empire, you can bet that recent media attention has all but assured that they now are.

Of course, conservative radio listeners know that pundits like Glenn Beck and Buck Sexton have been discussing this particular epoch with some regularity for at least the past decade.

Still, it seems no coincidence that it has entered into the national Zeitgeist at this current juncture, with a growing consensus of what Beck has long warned: that America is an empire in decline.

It isn’t my intention here to delve into the various parallels between modern and Roman times—open borders, devaluation of the currency and whatnot. Those cases have all been made elsewhere, and better than I can make them myself.

To paraphrase Shakespeare’s Marc Antony, I come to bury America, not to save it.

The Biden administration and its cabal of traitorous Brutes have already stabbed us dead in the back. When one side in a democracy acts, as they have, in bad faith, we can no longer have a functioning democracy.

It cannot be restored simply by letting the other side win, because the source of the corruption will only grow emboldened in its resistance. If the ends justify the means regardless of the circumstances, clearly defeat indicates that the means must grow even more drastic.

And yet, paradoxically, for Republicans to settle political scores after four years of lopsided, two-tiered justice by holding the other side wholly accountable in kind would be to become exactly what they condemned in the first place.

For more on this fascinating topic, it is worth checking out the Epoch Times‘s interview with pedagogical researcher Peter Boghossian about the “paradox of tolerance.”

From his academic standpoint, Boghossian—a classical liberal and charter fellow at the groundbreaking University of Austin—argues that the only way to defeat the pernicious influence of neo-Marxist cancel-culture is to embrace it.

Conservative institutions, he claims, must not only to permit but actively seek out avowed socialists to promote their ideas, if only for the sake of empowering the enemy to discredit themselves.

Of course, the inverse is not true in institutions where leftism prevails, which have now become the dominant force in academia after decades of letting liberals like Boghossian guide the way. They are more than willing to censor and push disinformation in service of their agenda, to ensure that no rational points of view threaten to topple their precarious dogma.

In reality, if UATX does not aggressively work to counter the toxic mentality that forced many of its founders from “mainstream” scholarship, it, too, may be another woke institution in the making, just a few stages behind in its entropic de-evolution.

The same, I fear, is true of America, even if a red wave does, by some miracle, manage to overcome the now-systemic cheating that blue states have entrenched via mail-in ballots, and to stave off the republic’s final coup de grâce for a few more election cycles.

A Trump victory—or that of any GOP candidate, for that matter—would, of course, result in considerable weeping and gnashing of teeth from the Left, and likely pose the first of many constitutional crises.

If rioting or election denialism were to occur, should the new leader follow recent precedent and crack down mercilessly—even if that results in a dissolution of the union as it did once before, when Democrats lost in 1860?

According to Claremont Institute classicist Spencer Klavan—the author of the recently published How to Save the West and son of Daily Wire personality Andrew Klavan—one of the final resorts of many empires in decline, starting with the Roman Empire, is that the citizens “took up swords against one another,” as he told Beck during a podcast interview that aired last week (go to the very end of the episode at 39:30 for the specific remarks).

“It wasn’t until civil bloodshed … when people started to kill their leaders in order to get rid of them, that things were destined to fall apart,” Klavan said. ” … Thank God we’re not there yet.”

But we know it will happen eventually, and we know exactly where it will originate. Of the assassins or would-be assassins of U.S presidents and prominent American political figures from Abraham Lincoln onward, nearly all have been either Marxists, anarchists or members of the Democratic Party.

Ironically, individuals who laid the foundation for sedition during President Donald Trump’s first term are now priming the public for the inevitable reckoning that they face should he return to power.

James Clapper, the former Obama director of national intelligence, and Mark Esper, Trump’s disloyal former defense secretary, recently sounded the alarm that they feared for their lives if the Republican frontrunner were to be re-elected and seek retaliation.

“I think there are probably a lot of people that are potentially on all sorts of lists,” whined Clapper in a recent CNN interview.

He noted that members of the deep state had emerged from the shadows and openly criticized Trump under the assumption that he wouldn’t be re-elected.

“Well, I’m not so sure about that,” Clapper said. “So, that’s a real concern for many of us.”

The same is true of former military leader Mark Milley, who admitted to maintaining a secret back-channel of communication with China that effectively undermined Trump’s foreign policy, among other things.

“He’ll start throwing people in jail, and I’d be on the top of the list,” Milley bitched to The Atlantic.

What both men seemed to omit from their fear-stoking interviews with far-left outlets was the possibility that they likely are guilty of the crimes for which they would be answering.

They are fearful now because the efforts to indict Trump and his allies for 91 phony charges have failed. The American people see through the ruse, and it is the justice system itself that has now been damaged and discredited.

In turn, after failing in such a high-stakes gambit, if Trump were re-elected in spite of all odds, it would be a clear mandate for him to settle his personal scores, not only for his own sake but on behalf of the American people.

It would only be by cutting out the corruption and making examples of those who dared to abuse the system—and holding them accountable according to the rules that they, themselves, established—that we could begin to see some measure of equal protection under the law, which is the cornerstone of democracy.

In short, it is obvious why Democrats may dread all talk of the Roman Empire, because even in its darkest days no Roman leader was assured of the ability to maintain absolute power for very long.

There was always someone coming along behind him who would mete out to a tyrannical leader—and those loyal to him—the same justice that they themselves abused during their reign of terror.

If Clapper, Milley and the like think that painting Trump as vindictive and motivated by revenge will deter voters who have stood behind him thus far, they are sorely mistaken. Their only way out, short of exile, might involve committing even more treason and showing the world just who they really are.

What follows after that is anyone’s guess. Would Trump, coming into office at age 78, be able to achieve any more in his second four years than he did the first time around? And then what? Will an even darker succession crisis await?

There are no easy answers ahead, but one thing is certain: We cannot let the need to preserve our sacred democracy be the guiding principle used to show mercy in the face of corrupt and evil influences, because once they have taken root, democracy is already gone.

DOJ Protected Biden Campaign’s Finances, Sibling from Criminal Probe: Smith

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., has come forward with allegations that the DOJ obstructed the investigators who were pursuing leads that could potentially implicate President Joe Biden in campaign finance misdeeds.

Smith made the allegations during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, where he highlighted over 700 pages of whistleblower documents on what he described as a disturbing pattern of the Biden family evading scrutiny.

Smith’s assertions paint a troubling picture of DOJ interference, stating that “there was an interview with the president’s brother, James Biden, that the Justice Department said [that] under no circumstances can” prosecutors ask about the president.

The whistleblower documents also revealed a search warrant that initially included Biden’s name but was subsequently amended by the DOJ to exclude him from the investigation, Smith alleged.

“And then they wanted to pursue charges against the Biden campaign finance issues, but they said we’re not interested of any of that conduct,” the Ways and Means chairman added.

Smith’s claims didn’t stop there, as he asserted that the documents showed that not that Biden was aware of his son’s business dealings, but that he was allegedly connected.

“He was connected through phone calls, through meetings at the White House, through trips on Air Force Two with Hunter Biden and his business associates,” Smith continued. “Even the IRS whistleblowers connected a worksheet of all these Hunter Biden business meetings with official activity of Joe Biden. It’s absolutely unacceptable.”

The release of these documents came as part of the House Ways and Means Committee’s preparation for the first impeachment inquiry hearing held by House Republicans on Sept. 28.

Among the released materials was a letter from Hunter to Yuriv Lutsenko, the prosecutor who replaced ousted Viktor Shokin, in which Hunter demanded the immediate cessation of investigations into Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company.

Burisma itself is at the center of bribery allegations, with claims that one of its executives paid both Biden and his son a total of $10 million ($5 million each) in exchange for political protection.

Notably, Biden had publicly advocated for the removal of Shokin, who had initiated the investigation into Burisma.

Even Bill Clinton Wants Illegals, Venezuelans Out of Taxpayer Shelters

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former President Bill Clinton has added his voice to the growing chorus of Democrats calling for changes to New York City’s taxpayer-funded “Right to Shelter” law, citing the unprecedented influx of illegal aliens, primarily from Venezuela.

Speaking to radio host John Catsimatidis, Clinton expressed his concerns about the current state of the law and its implications for New York City.

“Gov. [Kathy] Hochul thinks it should be modified, and it probably should under the circumstances,” Clinton told host Catsimatidis. “It’s broken. We need to fix it… It doesn’t make any sense.”

During the interview, Catsimatidis raised concerns about the need for vetting individuals freely crossing the border, to which Clinton responded, “I agree with that.” He then blamed the influx of Venezuelan immigrants as a major factor in the current chaos surrounding the “Right to Shelter” law.

“The real problem with that now in the emergency that it is not the people that were sent up here from Florida and Texas by in large, it is the huge numbers of Venezuelans who showed up because of the collapse of the Venezuelan economy,” Clinton added.

The issue of illegal immigrants residing in taxpayer-funded hotel rooms came to a boiling point when New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, started evicting illegal aliens.

In the interview, Clinton revealed that he has been offering advice to Adams. The mayor, echoing Clinton’s remarks, expressed concerns about the unprecedented number of illegals flooding the city, warning that they will “destroy” NYC.

New York Gov. Hochul has also weighed in, asserting that the “Right to Shelter” law was never intended to accommodate illegal aliens.

“Never was it envisioned that this would be an unlimited universal right or obligation on the city to have to house literally [the] entire world,” Hochul said, emphasizing the need for limits.

“We want to make sure that no families end up on the streets. We don’t want anything to happen to our children, but we also have to let the world know that there have to be limits to this.”

During an interview with CBS News’ Face the Nation, she reiterated her concerns about the influx of immigrants from all over the world, many of whom falsely claim asylum, overwhelming New York City’s resources.

“We want them to have a limit on who can come across the border. It is too open right now,” Hochul told host Margaret Brennan. “People coming from all over the world are finding that I way through simply saying they need asylum and the majority of them seem to be ending up in the streets of New York and that is a problem for New York City. 125,000 newly arrived individuals.”

Amid Ousting Threats, McCarthy Desperately Clings to Trump: He Will ‘Win’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has broken his long-standing silence on endorsing former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination, stating that Trump will be the Republican nominee and the next president.

McCarthy’s semi-endorsement stance comes a day after he endorsed a Biden-led stopgap deal and months of staying silent on the GOP primary in what he described as a bid not to create a civil war within the party.

During an interview with Margaret Brennan on CBS News’s Face the Nation, McCarthy finally voiced his support for Trump after being pressed for the answer. “I think President Trump is going to be our nominee and President Trump is going to win because President Trump’s policies made America stronger,” the GOP leader said. “We didn’t have inflation. We had a secure border.”

When questioned a second time by Brennan about whether he was endorsing Trump, McCarthy responded by highlighting the successes of the Trump administration

“We didn’t have $100 barrel oil,” McCarthy said. “What I totally find is the president is going to be our nominee, the president is going to win re-election, President Trump, for the basis we want to make America stronger.”

McCarthy also took a swipe at embattled President Joe Biden, noting, “This president has been in elected office for 50 years. Do you know he has spent more dinners with Hunter Biden’s business associates than he has visiting the border. Don’t you think that’s important though? One time. In 50 years.”

McCarthy’s backing of Trump comes amid growing political concerns within the Democratic Party regarding the influx of illegal immigration, particularly ahead of the 2024 presidential election. In New York City, for example, Democrats are telling illegal aliens to go somewhere else.

The House speaker emphasized that House Republicans would continue to pass legislation aligned with the wishes of the American people, despite potential roadblocks in the Senate and the White House.

“The house is its own body. The senate is its own body,” McCarthy said. “We’re not going to surrender to the senate. We pass what the American people want and don’t take my word for it. You’re going to have the governor of New York on it who told people to go somewhere else. The New York City mayor literally says it’s destroying a city.”

Furthermore, McCarthy noted, “Do you know the governor of Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency? This is one of the number one crises as far as the border one sees. This is killing Americans every single day.”

Gaetz Details Plan to Oust McCarthy Following MAGA Betrayal: ‘He Lied’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a series of Sunday interviews, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., unveiled his plan to oust Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker following the passing of a contentious Biden-endorsed stopgap funding measure.

The tension escalated after McCarthy worked with House Democrats to pass the stopgap bill, effectively funding the government for the next 45-47 days. While the bill marked a victory for McCarthy, Gaetz, a staunch supporter of the MAGA wing, is now determined to remove him from the speakership.

Gaetz took to Twitter to announce his intentions. “@SpeakerMcCarthy is going to get his wish,” he said. “I’m going to file a motion to vacate against him this week. If at this time next week Kevin McCarthy is still Speaker of the House, it will be because the Democrats bailed him out. He can be their Speaker, not mine.”

The Florida lawmaker first voiced his grievances during a Sunday interview on ABC News’ This Week. He accused McCarthy of betraying the MAGA wing of the House by working with Biden.

When asked if he was rallying Democrats to oust McCarthy, Gaetz suggested that Democrats will “bail out” the speaker.

“This is an exercise to show the American people who really governs you and how that governing occurs,” Gaetz explained. “I’m on a mission to change it where we’re evaluating these bills independently. Kevin Mccarthy is off making a secret deal on Ukraine as he’s baiting Republicans to vote for a continuing resolution that doesn’t include Ukraine.”

Gaetz continued to criticize McCarthy, asserting, “So, the one thing Democrats, Republicans, the White House, we all have in common is that Kevin McCarthy has lied to all of us. If they want to keep him, he belongs to them.”

Later in the day, Gaetz appeared on CNN for an interview with Jake Tapper. During the interview, Gaetz reiterated his stance, claiming that McCarthy had repeatedly breached an agreement made with House conservatives in January.

“I do intend to file a motion to vacate the Speaker Mccarthy this week,” the Florida firebrand added. “I think we need to rip off the band-aid. I think we need to move on with new leadership. The one thing everybody has in common is no one trusts Mccarthy. He lied to Biden, he lied to House conservatives.”

FBI Uncovered Satanic Pedophile Cult

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The FBI warned parents to be extra protective of their kids after it discovered a satanic pedophile extortion cult that targets its victims online.

To find new victims, the cult used platforms, such as Discord, Twitch, Soundcloud, Roblox and Telegram, according to the Guardian.

In its public service announcement, the FBI warned people that the cult uses many names, among which are 76, 764, CVLT, Court, Kaskar, Harm Nation, Leak Society and H3ll, adding that it “continuously evolves and forms subgroups under different monikers.”

“To gain access to a majority of these groups, prospective members are required to live-stream or upload videos depicting their minor victims harming animals or committing self-harm, suicide, murder or other acts of violence,” the bureau said.

The investigation into the cult began after police arrested a 23-year-old Angel Almeida on gun charges in New York and discovered his social media posts that led them to the cult, the Guardian wrote.

Books about the Order of Nine Angles and a flag bearing the insignia of an American O9A offshoot, the Temple of Blood, were also found by the police.

“Documents and sources familiar with 764 indicate the group is an offshoot of the Order of Nine Angles (O9A), a violent, subversive amalgam of esoteric Hitler worship, Satanism and Wiccan tenets that American authorities recognize as a terrorist ideology and that has been connected with murders and attempted terrorist attacks in countries including the US, Britain, Germany, Canada and Russia,” the newspaper reported.

Once the group ensnares its victims, they begin to threaten, intimidate or blackmail them into recording acts of self-mutilation, animal abuse, sex acts and even their suicides.

The Guardian also reported that Almeida had an O9A “blood covenant,” which features a blood-smeared drawing of a hooded figure with glowing red eyes surrounded with sigils for four O9A deities, the caption Vindex, Nythra, Satan and Abatu and an oath at the bottom of the page.

“‘A covenant signed in blood. May the DEVIL walk with you always – SATANAE MANIBUS’ (“by Satan’s Hand” in Latin). Similar indicia have been found in possession of O9A-influenced killers in Britain and Canada,” the outlet wrote.

The newspaper also discovered that the cult has a “network of a couple of thousand participants and hundreds of highly active members who generate and disseminate the bulk of the child pornography and gore videos found in the group’s channels on Telegram, Discord and more obscure platforms like Matrix.”

The FBI urged the victims of the cult to contact the bureau through the Internet Crime Complaint Center website.

COVID-19 Vaccines Resulted in 17M Deaths, Scientific Report Said

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A new scientific report revealed that COVID-19 vaccines caused a high all-cause mortality in 17 countries — especially among the elderly population.

The scientists who wrote the Correlation Research in the Public Interest report that was published on Sept. 17, 2023, and hasn’t yet been peer-reviewed quantified the vaccine-dose fatality rate (vDFR) for all ages — which is the ratio of inferred vaccine-induced deaths to vaccine doses delivered in a given population, the Epoch Times reported.

After doing that, the researchers calculated a mean all-ages fatal toxicity by injection of vDFR of one death per 800 injections across all ages and countries. According to the Times, this equates to 17 million COVID-19 vaccine-related deaths all around the world from 13.25 billion injections as of Sept. 2, 2023.

It was also discovered that the overall risk of death induced by COVID-19 vaccines is 1,000 times greater than it was previously reported in data from clinical trials, adverse event monitoring and cause-of-death statistics obtained from death certificates, the news source added.

All-cause mortality is the death rate from all causes of death for a population in a specific time period, which, according to Stephanie Seneff, a senior research scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology [MIT], “is a good feature to use in statistical medical analyses since there is no ambiguity in whether someone has died or not.”

“It is highly disturbing that these authors have found a consistent trend among seventeen countries showing a significant increase in all-cause mortality coinciding with extensive COVID vaccine rollout. Their estimate of one death for every 800 injections globally is alarming,” she said.

An analysis of all-cause mortality was done by using data from the World Mortality Dataset for 17 equatorial and Southern Hemisphere countries. Those countries were Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Suriname, Thailand and Uruguay.

Ex-Loudoun County Official Found Guilty for Covering Up Rape

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Ex-Loudoun County Public Schools [LCPS] Superintendent Scott Ziegler was found guilty by a jury on Friday for using his position to retaliate against a teacher who cooperated with a grand jury to expose how the district covered up a “transgender” sexually assaulting two girls.

Ziegler was acquitted by a jury of six women and one man of punishing a teacher for testifying to a grand jury, the Daily Wire reported. Both charges were misdemeanors, which means that Ziegler could go to prison for a year, get a $2,500 fine or both.

A 15-year-old “transgender” student was arrested in October 2021 for sexually assaulting two female students at two separate high schools in the area.

The first assault was reported on May 28, 2021, at Stone Bridge High School, while another one occurred on Oct. 8 of the same year at Broad Run High School, a local news station WUSA reported.

The parent of one of the victims was arrested at a school board meeting because he dared to shout at corrupt officials for not doing more to protect his daughter who was already sexually violated.

After she cooperated with investigators and disclosed another instance of mishandling of sexual assault by school administrators, a former special education teacher Erin Brooks was fired by Ziegler.

“Prosecutors laid out a devastating timeline of retaliation against Brooks, who was trying to get administrators to do something about the fact that a student with intellectual disabilities was grabbing the genitals of her and her teaching assistant Laurie Vandermeulen dozens of times a day while making crude motions with his tongue,” according to the Wire.

Ziegler’s defense attorney said in opening arguments that she would prove that Brooks was fired for “invading the privacy of her student assailant.” However, she failed to produce evidence that any private information was shared or that any policy was violated. Additionally, none of the witnesses were able to point to a policy that Brooks had violated.

Ziegler said that he fired Brooks for giving private information to a conservative activist, which did not happen, as it was revealed by a grand jury.

As a result, the prosecutors decided that would be illegal to punish Brooks for cooperating with a special grand jury that had subpoenaed her.

The Wire reported that sentencing for Ziegler will take place on Jan. 4, 2024.

“Great news for LCPS parents,” 1776 Project PAC wrote, responding to the news.

Biden Signs McCarthy’s Stopgap Bill Minutes Before Shutdown Deadline

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) House Republicans, Senate Democrats and President Joe Biden rallied behind a last-minute stopgap bill led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., averting a government shutdown just three hours away from the Saturday midnight deadline.

This unexpected turn of events marks a significant victory for McCarthy and hints at a rare moment of bipartisan cooperation on Capitol Hill.

A separate measure proposed by McCarthy faced staunch opposition from some House Republicans, who delivered a third catastrophic blow to the House speaker’s own bill. However, the final Senate tally for the clean stopgap bill was 88 in favor and only nine in opposition for it.

This stopgap measure proceeded to Biden’s desk for final approval, who signed the bill a few minutes before the deadline. Biden celebrated the bill but criticized the delay in its passing in a Saturday Twitter post

“This is good news,” Biden claimed, before adding, “I want to be clear: we should never have been in this position in the first place.”

Taking to Twitter to celebrate his victory, McCarthy stated, “I just signed and sent this short-term stop-gap bill to the White House in order to fund our troops, deliver emergency relief, and keep government open while Congress gets back to work through regular order.”

Initially, it was expected that McCarthy would have to settle with House Democrats to pass his first bill, which included a contentious $300 million in aid for Ukraine and border security funding. However, a turn of events saw Republicans and Democrats join forces to pass a new stopgap bill, effectively funding the government for approximately 45 days.

Despite this bipartisan feat, the passage of the bill was not without controversy. Rep. Jamal Bowman, D-N.Y., a member of the socialist “Squad,” attempted to thwart the proceedings and allegedly pulled a fire alarm.

The alarm caused chaos and prompted an emergency evacuation from the Cannon Office Building in Capitol Hill. Several House Republicans promptly blamed Bowman and called for his immediate arrest. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., pledged to introduce a resolution calling for his ousting from the House.

Despite this, McCarthy had hinted at the stopgap bill earlier on Saturday, according to Fox News. “The House is going to act so government will not shut down,” McCarthy told reporters. “We will put a clean funding stopgap on the floor to keep government open for 45 days for the House and Senate to get their work done.”

Feinstein’s Career Marred by Lux Living and Disturbing Attacks on Conservative Justices

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., lived a life of luxury and wealth, amassing a fortune of nearly $50 million and owning multiple mansions and private jets during her time in the U.S. Senate, the New York Post reported on Saturday.

Feinstein, whose Friday passing shocked national politics, frequently used her private Gulfstream G650 for travel, a stark contrast to lawmakers who opted for less extravagant accommodations, even sleeping in their offices to save on rent in D.C.—but not Feinstein, who also owned a $7.4 million mansion in the nation’s capital.

Feinstein’s political career was marked by partisan moments, such as her involvement in the contentious confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, whom she accused of being a serial rapist, and her portrayal of Justice Amy Coney Barrett as a religious fanatic.

When not attempting to sabotage Republicans, Feinstein enjoyed the luxury of her $21 million mansion in San Francisco, located on Lyon Steps.

As reported by the Post, even in her final days, legal disputes arose, with her daughter suing her stepsisters over plans to sell her Stinson Beach retreat in California.

Feinstein’s political journey was significantly funded by her husband’s wealth. Richard Blum, whom the Post described as an “astute investor” and founder of Blum Capital Partners, provided the substantial backing of $400,000 for her mayoral campaign in 1983 and her failed gubernatorial bid in 1990.

His financial backing played a crucial role in her successful Senate run in 1992.

In the months before her passing, Feinstein’s wealth ignited discussions about money and politics, particularly as she hosted “events, foreign-policy experts and others” at her Aspen home, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In her last days, Feinstein refused to give up her Senate seat despite facing numerous calls from power-hungry Democrats who wanted to push forward with leftist legislation.

According to Los Angeles Times, her body arrived in San Francisco on Saturday afternoon with the companion of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
