Iran Threatening ‘Pre-Emptive Action’ Against Israel

(Headline USA) Iran’s top envoy warned on Monday of “preemptive action” against Israel if the Jewish state continues to retaliate against Hamas in the Gaza Strip after Hamas launched a terrorist attack in Israel on Oct. 7.

“Leaders of the Resistance will not allow the Zionist regime to take any action in Gaza,” Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on state TV Monday, according to Reuters’s translation. “All options are open, and we cannot be indifferent to the war crimes committed against the people of Gaza.”

The Iranian official warned that the “resistance front is capable of waging a long-term war with the enemy,” referring to Israel.

“In the coming hours, we can expect a preemptive action by the resistance front,” he added.

The comments were made just hours after Iranian state media reported that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Iran was preparing for the “possibility of the conflict between Israel and Palestinians expanding to other fronts.”

Iran has celebrated Hamas’s attack on Israel but claimed the longtime financial backer of Mid-East terrorism was not directly involved.

A Wall Street Journal report last week, however, revealed Iranian officials directly coordinated with the terrorist group in the weeks leading up to the attack.

The Israeli military was also preparing for a potential attack from Hezbollah, a terrorist organization based in Lebanon. Hezbollah joining the war would dramatically escalate the conflict.

The White House has reportedly discussed using U.S. military force if the conflict does turn into a multi-front war, according to Axios. But at this point, the Biden administration has only sent public and private messages to Hezbollah and Iran through third parties, warning them not to intervene.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated this message during a meeting with Arab leaders in the region last week, saying the U.S. is “not fooling around.”

Murder Rates Are 60% Higher in Democrat-Run Counties

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A new study found that Democrat-run counties have a staggering 60% higher murder rates than the Republican-run counties.

The Heritage Foundation study debunked one of the recent leftist talking points, which is that red states have the highest homicide numbers.

In his and his former research assistant Alexander Gage’s report on the study, the Heritage Foundation’s Kevin Dayaratna said that murder rates have been higher in “blue counties” than they have been in “red counties” since 2002.

Using state-level data for homicides is misleading because the crimes are prosecuted at the local level, he added.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., previously said that “8 of the top 10 murder states are red.”

“And where in those red states are the murders happening and who is committing the murders? Oops you’ll never talk about that,” Nuance Bro wrote in the comment section, implying that all of that crime happens in Democrat-controlled big cities.

However, Newsom wasn’t the only leftist who pushed this propaganda. Last year, another America-hating leftist and a Democrat megadonor, George Soros wrote in the Wall Street Journal that “violent crime in recent years has generally been increasing more quickly in jurisdictions without reform-minded prosecutors.”

“Murder rates have been rising fastest in some Republican states led by tough-on-crime politicians,” he wrote.

However, Dayaratna and Gage said that studies that were cited by Democrats make that same argument about state-level murder rates since these studies, including a recent study from Third Way titled “The Two-Decade Red State Murder Problem,” used a “flawed” methodology.

The reason why the methodology happened to be flawed was because crime is a local issue and, therefore, crime analysis must be undertaken at the local level.

“If you look at the analysis on a state-by-state level, it’s 34% higher in red states and blue states, according to the most recent data we analyzed, but then when you look at it as a county-by-county level, it is 60% higher in blue counties than red counties,” Dayaratna said, according to Slay News.

Dayaratna and Gage also added in their report that “drawing conclusions from state-level homicide data in such a manner is flawed” because each state has “federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies, as well as prosecutors with different approaches to law enforcement often based on highly divergent political beliefs.”

“State homicide rates can be heavily influenced by a few counties. When those counties have different politics from the rest of the state, it can flip the conclusion about the association between political identifications and homicides,” they wrote.

Despite Claiming It’s Already Overrun, Chicago to Offer $9K to Illegals

(Headline USA) This week, Chicago began providing illegal immigrants with $9,000 each in rental assistance to be doled out over a monthslong period, even as city officials complain about the overwhelming number of migrants that have flooded the city over the past several months.

The rental assistance program is part of Chicago’s efforts to free room in the city’s shelters, which are struggling to care for the more than 11,000 migrants currently living in them, according to Chicago deputy chief of staff Cristina Pacione–Zayas. Another 4,000 are currently staying in police stations and in the O’Hare International Airport.

The city has allocated $4 million to the program to help migrants find temporary housing, and the state has contributed another $38 million. Those eligible will receive up to $9,000, which can be used to cover rent, furniture and moving costs, according to Pacione–Zayas.

“That rent lasts for six months and ideally people would have started their legal process, secured legal work authorization and be able to sustain that apartment,” she said.

“I guess the payment toward the landlord is based on market rate,” she added. “It’s based on the configuration of the apartment, and so it varies from place to place.”

The move comes even as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and other city officials admit that they do not have the resources to help the migrants streaming into the self-proclaimed sanctuary city.

Johnson even canceled his planned trip to the southern border this week, option instead to “address the immediate urgency of adding shelter space to house thousands of new arrivals currently sleeping in police stations, airports, or outside,” he said.

“With the weather growing colder and hundreds of migrants arriving each day, it is more important than ever that every stakeholder at the state, federal and local level work diligently to address this challenge, while continuing to meet the needs of Chicago and Illinois residents,” Johnson claimed.

Neither Johnson nor Pacione–Zayas mentioned that Chicago’s rental assistance program will likely serve as an additional incentive for more migrants to travel to the city.

Scalise Reportedly Refused to Help Jordan Clinch Speakership Votes

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., created a stir on Monday by refusing to throw his weight behind House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, in his bid to secure the House speakership.

According to reports from the Daily Caller, Scalise rejected Jordan’s plea for public endorsement following an unsuccessful first round of voting.

When approached for comment, a spokesperson for Scalise neither confirmed nor denied the incident, reiterating Scalise’s commitment to support the nominee chosen by the House Republicans.

“Leader Scalise has been the only candidate throughout this process who has publicly declared he will be supportive of whomever the conference nominates for Speaker, and his position has not changed,” the spokesperson said. “He voted for Jim Jordan on the floor and will continue to do so.”

However, the office did acknowledge that Scalise had privately lobbied some members on Jordan’s behalf.

Countering reports of a refusal to support Jordan, the Scalise spokesperson said, “Not true. He has spoken to members on Jim’s behalf and you can see that many Scalise allies flipped to Jordan.”

Jordan’s initial attempt fell short by 17 votes, leading him to push for a second round of voting. In total, Jordan received 200 votes. The House has agreed to conduct the second round on Wednesday at 11:00 am, as reported by the New York Times.

“We’re going to keep working, and we’re going to get to the votes,” Jordan affirmed on Tuesday.

During the first round, Scalise secured seven votes, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., received six, former Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., acquired three, while Reps. Tom Emmer, R- Minn., Mike Garcia, R-Calif., Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Tom Cole, R- Okla., each received one vote.

‘Go Somewhere Else’: Almost Half of NYC’s Illegals in Taxpayer-funded Shelters Face Eviction

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Less than 50% of illegal aliens who have been staying at Manhattan-based, taxpayer-funded hotels in New York City reapplied for the city’s program after the newly announced rules.

These illegal immigrants could soon face evictions following the 60-day limit announced by the New York City government after the program was completely drained by an unprecedented and uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens in NYC.

“It looks like about less than 50% of the people are coming back after those time limits but we’ll know more about those in the coming days and we will give you that information,” Deputy Mayor Anne Williams-Isom said during a press conference on Tuesday, according to the New York Post.

The city government announced the new rule in a desperate bid to persuade fewer illegal aliens from flooding NYC streets. As detailed by Mayor Eric Adams last month, illegal aliens are required to exit the taxpayer-funded hotels and reapply for the program.

“We really want to make sure that we’re making room at the front door, ” Williams-Isom added Tuesday. “So giving people a time limit so that they can get connected to family members and other opportunities, we think is the tools that we have.”

The move was met with criticism from the individuals receiving the perks. Maria Ana, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national, complained in an interview with the Post that the short notice is not enough.

“I don’t know if I can even get ahead in the time I have to do it in, I don’t have a job,” Ana claimed, before adding, “I’m looking for options. I try to get money any way I can.”

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said last month that the program was never envisioned for a long-term stay.

“We want to make sure that no families end up on the streets. We don’t want anything to happen to our children, but we also have to let the world know that there have to be limits to this,” she said during an interview with CNN.

Meanwhile, Adams said that the unprecedented number of illegal aliens would “destroy” New York City. “Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to,” Adams said in a now-viral community town hall. “I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City.

Not Even Arab Countries Want Palestinian Refugees

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Two Arab countries have stood firm against the acceptance of Palestinian refugees, echoing the recent rejection from the GOP regarding the admission of thousands of Gaza refugees.

King Abdullah II of Jordan made a resolute declaration, aligning his country’s stance with Egypt’s, emphasizing their refusal to accept refugees seeking to flee the conflict-ridden Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Speaking alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, King Abdullah described the potential acceptance of Gaza refugees as a “red line” for both Jordan and Egypt.

“There will be no refugees in Jordan and no refugees in Egypt,” he declared, highlighting that the crisis must be controlled within Israel. “That is a red line because I think that is the plan by certain of the usual suspects to try and create de facto issues on the ground.”

The New York Post reported Monday that Abdullah’s comments appeared to refer to Israel’s demands that Gaza residents evacuate the northern region of the strip ahead of an imminent on-ground invasion.

Similarly, Egypt has refused to open its borders to the Gaza Strip, fearing an uncontrolled influx of refugees into the North African country.

In the U.S., Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., one of the most radical members of the House of Representatives, proposed the admission of Palestinian refugees into the United States. His call was faced swift criticism from Republican leaders.

“Middle Eastern countries should take Gaza refugees. Not the United States,” remarked Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., on Oct. 14 via Twitter.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., echoed Gaetz’s remarks, raising security concerns with accommodating individuals from a Terrorist hotbed.

“We can not [sic] take in 1 million refugees from Gaza,” she said. “We would be importing antisemitic people, many who support terrorism Besides the Biden admin has already imported millions of illegals who should not be here and is forcing Americans to pay for them.”

‘Princess Bride’ Actor Fails Battle of Wits over Pro-Hamas Virtue-Signaling

(Headline USA) Wallace Shawn, the actor best known for his portrayal of Vizzini in 1987’s The Princess Bride, joined pro-Hamas activists in Washington, D.C., this week to protest against “Israeli apartheid.”

Shawn has been a leading member of the leftist group Jewish Voice for Peace, which has blamed Israel for Hamas’s terrorist attack on Oct. 7.

When asked why he chose to blame the Jewish state of Israel, Shawn argued Israel was inflicting “one of the most deliberate cruelties … on a group of people” for having the audacity to retaliate against Hamas’s brutal slaughter of at least 1,300 innocent Israelis and kidnapping of some 200 more.

“Even in Vietnam, there was a whole elaborate explanation that people gave, and they didn’t quite admit they were just slaughtering the innocent,” Shawn claimed.

“This is very deliberate,” he added. “I also don’t really believe in revenge, and that’s what this is.”

Shawn is one of several leftists in the U.S. who have demanded that Israel not retaliate against the residents of the Gaza territory who are harboring the Hamas terrorists and their hostages.

Others include congressional “Squad” members, such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.; Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y.; Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.

Bowman used the leftist Jewish group’s protest outside the White House this week as an excuse to justify his demands for a ceasefire.

The protest became rowdy after several protesters clashed with police officers outside the White House. Law enforcement ended up arresting more than a dozen protesters as a result.

“This afternoon, more than 30 individuals were arrested by the U.S. Secret Service’s Uniformed Division for Unlawful Entry or Incommoding after crossing safety barriers or blocking entrances during a demonstration at the White House complex,” said Secret Service spokesperson Steve Kopek.

“There was no impact to White House security operations,” he added. “The individuals have been transported to the Metropolitan Police Department 2nd District for processing.”

Israel: Misfired Hamas Rocket Blows Gaza Hospital, Killing Hundreds

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A failed Islamic Jihad bomb, initially falsely attributed to the Israeli Defense Force, caused a blast at the Gaza Baptist Hospital, leaving several hundred people dead.

The Israeli Defense Force  issued a statement clarifying the circumstances, “From an analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit.”

The IDF confirmed that the Palestine Islamic Jihad, a Sunni Islamist militant group in Gaza, was responsible for the explosion. Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, also validated the investigation’s outcome in a video statement.

“I can confirm that following an analysis of the IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit,” Hagari said.

Following the incident, Hamas terrorists and certain leftist media outlets in the U.S. immediately blamed Israel, without evidence, for the explosion, claiming it had resulted in the deaths of over 500 individuals.

In response, the IDF issued a strong rebuke of the mainstream media for not questioning the propaganda of the Hamas terror group.

“Media outlets around the globe were quick to run Hamas’ headlines—without fact checking,” the IDF said on Twitter. “We now know that an Islamic Jihad rocket aimed at Israel misfired and hit the hospital in Gaza.”

The IDF also revealed that the Gaza-based terrorist organization, which aims to establish an Islamic state in Israel, has launched numerous rockets toward Israel since the war began on Oct. 7. Approximately 450 rockets have fallen in Gaza, posing a significant threat to the lives of Gazan residents, the Times of Israel reported on Monday.

Several surveillance footage have captured the exact moment and location of the rocket launch from the Gaza Strip, showing its failed trajectory before hitting the hospital. Surprisingly, even Al Jazeera, a well-known media platform supportive of Palestinians and Hamas, corroborated the same through its live stream of Gaza.

Trump Lands Big Endorsements from Bobby Jindal, Waka Flocka Flame

(Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump earned notable endorsements this week from rapper Waka Flocka Flame and former GOP rival Bobby Jindal.

Waka Flocka Flame, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, gave his endorsement via tweet on Monday.

It comes amid a surge of black support for Trump as the former president battles multiple indictments. Trump has said he is “willing to go to jail” fighting the “corrupt” justice system, an argument that seems to be resonating among black males in particular.

After Trump’s mugshot was published, for example, multiple high-profile rappers voiced their support for the former president, and a video showed black residents in Atlanta rallying to cheer Trump on as he headed to the courthouse for his arraignment.

Another key endorsement this week came from Jindal, a former GOP presidential candidate who ran against Trump in 2016, who made history as the first Indian–American governor to be elected in any state after he won the 2008 gubernatorial race in Louisiana.

“I just had a great conversation with President Trump, and I told him that he has my full and complete endorsement to win back the White House and Make America Great Again!” Jindal tweeted.

Notably, Trump is being challenged by two Indian–American Republicans in the GOP primary: businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and Trump’s own former United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley, who became the second Indian–American governor (and first woman) when she she won South Carolina’s 2011 gubernatorial race.

However, Jindal said it was important for the party to begin to unite around the clear frontrunner, particularly given the lawfare attacks that Trump is facing from corrupt leftist prosecutors, which may require an all-hands-on-deck response.

Trump “will be the Republican nominee, and everyone knows that, especially the Democrats who are already spending millions attacking him in an attempt to destroy him,” Jindal said.

“And we Republicans should stop helping them by fighting amongst ourselves, and instead, unite to win the general election,” he added. “Some of the others running are friends who I have known for a while.”

Jindal listed a number of policies that he said made Trump a great president, including bringing “order” to the Middle East, being the “first president to identify China as America’s top security threat” and fighting “to secure our border.”

“WE ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING THIS COUNTRY,” Jindal warned. “The wolf is at the door, and this is true in terms of every issue, from economics, to culture, to foreign policy.”

Harvard Donors Jump Ship after School Shrugs Off Students’ Hamas Support

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Left-wing concepts such as “cancel culture” and the “ESG movement” have long given heartburn to conservatives, libertarians and even classical liberals who believe in the importance of a free society.

In the past, such practices have been deployed to promote anti-Semitism, as in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel.

However, following Hamas’s devastating terrorist attack on the Jewish nation–state, radical leftists are getting a dose of their own medicine as wealthy investors pull the plug on those espousing solidarity with the evildoers on college campuses and elsewhere, BizPacReview reported.

In particular, Harvard University’s wealthy donors are continuing to jump ship after 31 campus organizations came out in support of Hamas, on the very day that Muslim extremists slaughtered more than 1,300 innocent Israelis—many of them brutally raped, mutilated and tortured—and took nearly 200 hostages, including at least 26 children, back to Gaza to use as human shields.

“We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,” wrote the redundantly named Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine. “Today’s events did not occur in a vacuum. … The apartheid regime is the only one to blame

In response, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman announced that he would be blacklisting the signatories and a “doxxing truck” displayed the names and faces of those who were behind the effort.

That led some of the group members to backpedal and denounce the statements that the groups had issued, apparently without soliciting their input.

They further whined that they were being subjected to “harassment” as the result of their prior tacit support of the anti-Semitic genocide.

Meanwhile, some powerful individuals faulted the school for its tepid response to the episode after Harvard President Claudine Gay refused to denounce it, insisting that the school had no say in what the groups did.

On Thursday, shipping magnate Idan Ofer, believed to be the wealthiest person in Israel, resigned from the executive board of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the Daily Caller reported.

The Wexner Foundation, a pro-Jewish philanthropy bankrolled by Bath & Body Works founder Lex Wexner, also announced that it would be pulling its funding.

Aside from announcing that they were “stunned and sickened” by the news, the upper level management of the Wexner Foundation condemned the university for failing to teach its students about what they perceived to be the necessity of supporting Israel.

“In the absence of this clear moral stand, we have determined that the Harvard Kennedy School and The Wexner Foundation are no longer compatible partners,” they wrote. “While we intend to develop new strategies and initiatives to develop Israel’s civil service leaders, The Wexner Foundation is formally ending its financial and programmatic relationships with Harvard and the Harvard Kennedy School.”

In their explanation, Wexner leaders cited a difference in “core values,” noting that Harvard Kennedy School “is no longer a place where Israeli leaders can go to develop the necessary skills to address the very real political and societal challenges they face.”

The Wexner Foundation says its mission to develop and inspire “leaders in the North American Jewish Community and the State of Israel” through “pluralistic, cohort-based educational programs.” The foundation also commits itself to “Jewish Peoplehood.”

Harvard was also among four universities receiving heat from the federal government.

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., demanded that the Justice Department launch an investigation into students at the school—along with those at the University of California-Los Angeles, Columbia University and the University of Virginia—over recent pro-Hamas demonstrations that may be traced back to the terrorist group.

“It is entirely possible that many of these student organizations, at some level or another, are enmeshed in [terrorist] networks—whether as recipients of funding from these malicious actors or as conduits for it,” the senator wrote, as reported by the New York Post.

The U.Va. event also was being investigated by Republican state Attorney General Jason Miyares, following a report that anthropology professor Tessa Farmer had offered her students extra credit to attend it.

Headline USA’s Ben Sellers contributed to this report.
