CNN Finalizes Upcoming Trump, Biden Debate Rules

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) CNN finalized its rules on June 15, 2024, for the first 2024 presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

The 90-minute debate, hosted by the network’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash in Atlanta, will have rules that have never been implemented before for previous presidential debates in American history, such as muting microphones and barring a live studio audience, CNN reported.

The network said that two commercial breaks would interrupt the debate, adding that campaign staff would be prevented from interacting with candidates during this time.

Both Trump and Biden would be banned from using cheat sheets, which may pose a problem for Biden because he was previously caught using prepared notecards to answer pre-screened questions. On the other hand, Trump would only benefit from it since he doesn’t need help from a teleprompter and cards.

Even though it was previously reported that Trump and Biden would sit at a table, CNN announced that both candidates would appear at individual podiums. A coin toss will determine which podium each candidate will use. Trump and Biden will receive a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water because any other prop would not be permitted on stage.

Candidates will speak one at a time so the microphones will be muted. CNN has not explicitly stated whether Tapper and Bash will be in charge of muting the microphones. Instead, the network said moderators “will use all tools at their disposal to enforce timing and ensure civilized discussion.”

In addition, there will be no live studio audience during the executive showdown.

Former Barack Obama adviser and MSNBC contributor Jennifer Palmieri recently expressed her surprise about Trump accepting the rules of the upcoming debates.

“I don’t see anything in the rules that is a benefit to Trump, and they all seem to be something that would help, that would make it a better environment, for Biden… I am still surprised that they said yes right away to CNN, they said yes right away to ABC and that they’ve agreed to these rules,” she said.

Surgeon General Asks Congress to Require Warning Labels for Social Media

(Headline USA) The U.S. surgeon general has called on Congress to require warning labels on social media platforms similar to those now mandatory on cigarette boxes.

In a Monday opinion piece in the New York Times, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said that social media is a contributing factor in the mental health crisis among young people.

“It is time to require a surgeon general’s warning label on social media platforms, stating that social media is associated with significant mental health harms for adolescents,” Murthy said.

“A surgeon general’s warning label, which requires congressional action, would regularly remind parents and adolescents that social media has not been proved safe,” he added. “Evidence from tobacco studies show that warning labels can increase awareness and change behavior.”

Murthy said that the use of just a warning label wouldn’t make social media safe for young people, but would be a part of the steps needed.

Social media use is prevalent among young people, with up to 95% of youth ages 13 to 17 saying that they use a social media platform, and more than a third saying that they use social media “almost constantly,” according to 2022 data from the Pew Research Center.

Last year Murthy warned that there wasn’t enough evidence to show that social media is safe for children and teens. He said at the time that policymakers needed to address the harms of social media the same way they regulate things like car seats, baby formula, medication and other products children use.

To comply with federal regulation, social media companies already ban kids under 13 from signing up for their platforms—but children have been shown to easily get around the bans, both with and without their parents’ consent.

Other measures social platforms have taken to address concerns about children’s mental health can also be easily circumvented. For instance, TikTok introduced a default 60-minute time limit for users under 18. But once the limit is reached, minors can simply enter a passcode to keep watching.

Murthy believes the impact of social media on young people should be a more pressing concern.

“Why is it that we have failed to respond to the harms of social media when they are no less urgent or widespread than those posed by unsafe cars, planes or food? These harms are not a failure of willpower and parenting; they are the consequence of unleashing powerful technology without adequate safety measures, transparency or accountability,” he wrote.

In January the CEOs of Meta, TikTok, X and other social media companies went before the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify as parents worry that they’re not doing enough to protect young people. The executives touted existing safety tools on their platforms and the work they’ve done with nonprofits and law enforcement to protect minors.

Murthy said Monday that Congress needs to implement legislation that will protect young people from online harassment, abuse and exploitation and from exposure to extreme violence and sexual content.

“The measures should prevent platforms from collecting sensitive data from children and should restrict the use of features like push notifications, auto play and infinite scroll, which prey on developing brains and contribute to excessive use,” Murthy wrote.

The Surgeon General is also recommending that companies be required to share all their data on health effects with independent scientists and the public, which they currently don’t do, and allow independent safety audits.

Murthy said schools and parents also need to participate in providing phone-free times and that doctors, nurses and other clinicians should help guide families toward safer practices.

While Murthy pushes for more to be done about social media in the United States, the European Union enacted groundbreaking new digital rules last year. The Digital Services Act is part of a suite of tech-focused regulations crafted by the 27-nation bloc—long a global leader in cracking down on tech giants.

The DSA is designed to keep users safe online and make it much harder to spread content that’s either illegal, like hate speech or child sexual abuse, or violates a platform’s terms of service. It also looks to protect citizens’ fundamental rights such as privacy and free speech.

Officials have warned tech companies that violations could bring fines worth up to 6% of their global revenue—which could amount to billions—or even a ban from the EU.

Morgan Freeman Slams Black History Month: ‘I Detest It’

(Headline USA) Actor Morgan Freeman slammed the idea of Black History Month, saying he “detests” that the country dedicates the month of February to recognizing black history, the Daily Wire reported.

“The mere idea of it: You are going to give me the shortest month in a year? And you are going to celebrate ‘my’ history?! This whole idea makes my teeth itch. It’s not right,” he told Variety  on Sunday.

Freeman argued black Americans don’t need their own month because their history is ultimately the rest of the country’s, as well.

“My history is American history,” the award-winning actor explained. “It’s the one thing in this world I am interested in, beyond making money, having a good time, and getting enough sleep.”

Freeman stressed the importance of knowing and understanding U.S. history, including the ugly parts of it.

“If you don’t know your past, if you don’t remember it, you are bound to repeat it,” he said.

This isn’t the first time Freeman has been critical of the woke Left’s racial narrative. He has previously called Black History Month an “insult,” even to those who think it’s important.

“You’re going to relegate my history to a month?” he asked last year.

Freeman dismissed the title “African-American” as meaningless as well.

“I don’t subscribe to that title,” Freeman said. “Black people have had different titles all the way back to the n-word and I do not know how these things get such a grip, but everyone uses ‘African-American.’ What does it really mean?”

The 87-year-old also argued back in 2005 that the best way to get rid of racism is to “stop talking about it.”

He said at the time, “I am going to stop calling you a white man, and I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man.”

Newspaper to Continue Publishing Trans Shooters’ Writings after Bizarre Contempt Hearing

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Parties in an ongoing lawsuit over the disclosure of Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale’s writings gathered in court on Monday after at least 80 pages of Hale documents were allegedly leaked to the Tennessee Star.

However, it wasn’t clear exactly why they were there.

The hearing was set after Nashville Judge I’Ashea Myles ordered Star editor-in-chief Michael Patrick Leahy to appear before her this Monday to “show case” as she considered whether to hold him in contempt for publishing excerpts of Hale’s writings.

Judge Myles’s order appeared to be a prima facie First Amendment violation. But after she was widely ridiculed for her likely unconstitutional order, the judge later claimed that she never actually ordered a contempt-of-court hearing for Monday.

Instead, she claimed that Monday’s hearing was simply for her to be “educated” on how to proceed, now that documents subject to the court proceedings have been leaked.

“I thought it prudent to have everyone in here to understand the landscape,” Judge Myles said.

That wasn’t good enough for Leahy’s attorney, Daniel Horowitz, who pressed the judge on why exactly his client was ordered to appear Monday.

“We were ordered here to show cause as to why we shouldn’t be held in contempt. This court then expanded the order it put down to say it would investigate [how the documents were leaked],” said Horowitz, who was frequently interrupted by Judge Myles as he made his argument.

“What cause did you order him to show?”

Judge Myles didn’t answer Horowitz’s question. Instead, she claimed she learned enough information from Monday’s hearing to make a ruling. What she’s ruling on isn’t exactly clear.

Following the hearing, Leahy released the following statement: “We started The Tennessee Star so I could exercise my First Amendment rights. I think we have served the public well, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to continue exercising our First Amendment rights.”

Police have said the writings that they collected as part of their investigation into the March 27, 2023, shooting at the Covenant School that killed three 9-year-old children and three adult staff members are public records. However, they have said they cannot be released until their investigation is concluded.

Despite law enforcement’s attempts to keep the manifesto secret, the first three pages the purported manifesto were leaked to conservative broadcaster Steven Crowder last November. The Nashville Police Department reportedly suspended seven detectives over the leak.

The portion of the manifesto that was leaked purportedly revealed Hale, who identified a transgender, had been planning the school shooting for years, and that she deliberately targeted “white privileged” “cr*****s” and “f****ts.”

“Can’t believe I’m doing this but I’m ready… I hope my victims aren’t,” Hale wrote. “My only fear is if anything goes wrong. I’ll do my best to prevent any of the sort. God let my wrath take over my anxiety. It might be 10 minutes tops. It might be 3-7. It’s gonna go quick. I hope I have a high death count. Ready to die.”

The more recent excerpts published by The Star reveal Hale’s transgender ideation.

“2007 was the birth of puberty blockers and a newfound discovery for treatment of non-conforming transgender children,” Hale reportedly wrote. “I’d kill to have those resources.”

DOJ Charges Doctor Who Blew Whistle on Child Genital Mutilation

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The medical doctor who exposed Texas Children’s Hospital for conducting secret sex changes on children has been charged by the Justice Department with obtaining protected individual health information for patients that were not under his care.

The DOJ issued a press release about the matter Monday. The doctor wasn’t named in the press release, but Christopher Rufo, who reported on the doctor’s disclosures, confirmed his identity as Dr. Eithan Haim.

According to Rufo, Dr. Haim contacted him about how the hospital had lied about terminating the transgender medicine program, and that doctors were continuing to perform sex-change procedures on children as young as 11.

In response to Rufo’s story, Texas immediately banned transgender medical procedures for minors.

But the story also put Dr. Haim on the DOJ’s radar.

“On the morning in June 2023 that Haim was to graduate from Texas Children Hospital’s residency program, federal agents knocked on his door. They had identified him as a potential ‘leaker,’ presumably through forensic examination of the hospital’s computer systems. Shortly thereafter, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tina Ansari began threatening Haim with prosecution,” Rufo wrote in an article last week.

“Now, Ansari has made good on those threats. Earlier this week, U.S. marshals appeared at Haim’s home and summoned him to court to face an indictment on four felony counts of violating HIPAA.

Dr. Hain had his initial appearance Monday. If convicted, Haim faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 maximum possible fine.

The doctor also released a statement about the matter on his GiveSendGo page.

“For telling the truth, I am the one being charged. For believing that doctors should never lie to their patients and hospitals—especially children’s hospitals—have a responsibility for maintaining the trust necessary in the doctor-patient relationship, I will be the defendant in the federal court room,” he said.

“I believe the reason they are doing this is clear. They want to send a message to any potential whistleblower—the punishment for telling the truth, for challenging the dominant political ideology, will be the heavy hand of the most powerful federal leviathan in human history.”

Biden Administration Runs Biggest Deficit of the Year in May

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) The Biden administration ran the biggest monthly budget deficit of the year in May as it continues to spend money hand over fist.

Federal spending overshot receipts by $347.13 billion last month, despite a 5 percent increase in revenues, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement.

The deficit was the largest ever recorded in May and was up 22 percent from the same period last year.

Part of the big increase was due to $93 billion in June payments that were pushed back into May because June 30 fell on a Saturday. But even subtracting that amount out, the deficit was still $254 billion, the third-largest shortfall so far in fiscal 2024.

The May deficit pushed the fiscal 2024 budget deficit to $1.2 trillion with four months remaining. The 2024 deficit is about 3 percent ahead of the shortfall during the same period last year.

A lot of people like to blame America’s fiscal deterioration on tax cuts. But revenues are up. The real problem is on the spending side of the ledger.

Government receipts came in at $323.65 billion in May, a 5 percent year-on-year increase. Year-to-date receipts totaled $3.29 trillion, up 10 percent from the same period in fiscal 2023.

To give you an idea of how well the Treasury is doing, in April, Uncle Sam ran a surplus thanks to tax day. Tax receipts came in at $776.2 billion in April, a 22 percent increase over last year.

But then there’s the spending.

The Biden administration blew through $670.78 billion in May. Even subtracting the $93 billion in June entitlement payments pushed back into May, Uncle Sam still spent well over half a trillion dollars.

Through the first seven months of fiscal 2024, the federal government has blown through a staggering $4.49 trillion. That’s up 8 percent over the same period last year.

And there is no end to the spending in sight.

Outlays continue to increase despite the [pretend] spending cuts and promises from the Biden administration that it would save “hundreds of billions” with the debt ceiling deal (aka the [misnamed] Fiscal Responsibility Act).

This reveals the ugly truth. No matter what you hear about spending cuts in Washington D.C., the federal government always finds new reasons to spend more and more money. Whether it’s a disaster, an emergency, or somebody else’s war, the spending train never reaches the station.

This problem isn’t specific to Biden or Democrats in general. The Trump administration was running $1 trillion deficits before the pandemic. In other words, Trump was generating Obamaesque deficits despite having what he claimed was the strongest economy in history.

Borrowing and spending is a bipartisan sport.

The problem is the only way to whittle down spending would be to address the biggest outlays – entitlements, national defense, and the interest on the debt. Congress lacks the political will to cut defense or reform Social Security and Medicare. And it can’t do anything about the interest on the debt other than lower the debt.

Speaking of the debt, massive monthly budget shortfalls are pushing it higher at a dizzying pace. On December 29, the national debt eclipsed $34 trillion for the first time. When Congress effectively eliminated the debt ceiling on June 5, the national debt stood at a “mere” $31.46 trillion. As of June 13, the national debt stood at over $34.68 trillion.

But the Debt Doesn’t Matter!

A lot of people just shrug at the deficits and ballooning national debt, claiming “it doesn’t matter.” They insist that as long as the U.S. government issues its own currency, and the dollar remains the global reserve, the government can borrow and spend virtually at will. They use fancy accounting tautologies to “prove” their point.

But intricacies of monetary theory aside, their supposition only holds up as long as the world has faith in the dollar. That faith is being eroded by the federal government’s reckless and irresponsible policies. This is evident by the de-dollarization trend.

And then there is the interest problem.

The U.S. government spent $103 billion on interest expenses alone in May. This was more than the amount spent on national defense ($87 billion). The only spending categories higher than interest expense were Social Security and Medicare. Keep in mind that entitlement spending was boosted by early June payments that fell in May.

The government has shelled out $727.5 billion on interest payments so far in fiscal 2024. That’s a 37.3 percent increase over the same period in fiscal 2023. The only category with higher spending was Social Security.

Net interest expense, excluding intragovernmental transfers to trust funds, was $601 billion through the seven months of the fiscal year. Net interest expense for the year has now eclipsed the outlays for national defense ($576 billion).

To put this into a different perspective, the federal government is spending over 1/3 of its tax receipts on interest expense alone.

And interest expenses will only continue to climb.

Much of the debt currently on the books was financed at very low rates before the Federal Reserve started its hiking cycle. Every month, some of that super-low-yielding paper matures and has to be replaced by bonds yielding much higher rates.

Anybody who says “deficits don’t matter” is deluded.

And the only way out of this fiscal death spiral is significant spending cuts and/or major tax hikes. I wouldn’t hold my breath.

More De-Dollarization – Tanzania Seeks to Limit Use of the Dollar

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) On June 13, Tanzania Finance Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba issued a directive in an effort to curb the widespread use of the U.S. dollar in the country.

This is just one among many body blows taken by the dollar over the last several years.

The Tanzanian directive mandates that all transactions in the country must be advertised and conducted in Tanzanian shillings. It will take effect July 1.

“Henceforth, all such payments were to be made in shillings, promoting financial stability and compliance with the law.”

Visitors will be encouraged to exchange foreign currency for Tanzanian shillings to facilitate transactions that support the local economy.

Over the last several years, a growing number of institutions in Tanzania, both governmental and private, have required payments in dollars. This has led to a dollar shortage in the country.

Last month, the Tanzanian central bank began selling dollars held in its reserves to commercial banks hoping to ease a dollar shortage. The combination of a growing demand for greenbacks coupled with the shortage led to a growing black market for dollars.

During a budget speech before the Tanzanian National Assembly, Nchemba emphasized the problems with dollarization and said that it is “hindering economic progress.” He also said the situation increases “unnecessary” demand for foreign currency and that it undercut those who need dollars to import essential goods into the country.

It remains unclear how effective the directive will be. It is already technically illegal under the Bank of Tanzania Act of 2006. The law designates the Tanzanian schilling as the sole legal tender for domestic payments. The new directive likely indicates increased enforcement efforts on the horizon.

Dollar Death By a Thousand Paper Cuts

De-dollarization in Tanzania won’t have much impact on the trajectory of the U.S. dollar, but it is indicative of a growing global trend – more and more countries are spurning the greenback.

The greenback is falling as a share of global reserves as many countries attempt to diversify away from the greenback. America’s use of the dollar as a foreign policy weapon has the leaders of many countries on edge.

The U.S. and other Western countries aggressively sanctioned Russia in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine.

America and her allies locked Russia out of the SWIFT financial system and froze around $300 billion in Russian central bank assets.

Other countries took notice.

Consider this – if you recognize something makes you vulnerable, what do you do?

You likely take steps to eliminate or at least minimize that vulnerability.

So, if you’re worried that the U.S. and its allies might cut off your access to dollars, what would you do?

Minimize your dependence on dollars. In other words, if you are concerned that the U.S. could pull the “dollar rug” out from under you, why not pull out from the dollar system first?

Meanwhile, countries such as Tanzania are attempting to minimize reliance on the dollar to boost their own currencies and foster economic independence.

And earlier this month, a 50-year-old agreement between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia supporting the petrodollar was allowed to expire. The end of the agreement doesn’t mean Saudi Arabia will stop accepting dollars for oil, and there are plenty of other influential players in the mix that will likely continue to rely on the greenback.  But the expiration of the agreement opens the door for oil sales in other currencies, including the Chinese yuan. And if the Saudis move away from the dollar, other countries will likely follow suit.

The rise of BRICS will also undercut dollar dominance.

BRICS is an economic cooperation bloc originally made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. As of Jan. 1, 2024, the bloc expanded to include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Iran, and Ethiopia. More than 40 other nations have expressed interest in BRICS membership.

During the Montreal Conference of the International Economic Forum of the Americas, 3Sixty Strategic Advisors Ltd. managing director Ali Borhani bluntly pointed out that people must recognize the world has changed.

“Half of the world population is in BRICS+. Two-thirds of world trade happens in BRICS+. BRICS are adding 74 million consumers a year. That is two times Canada out of these markets. The largest buyers of energy and the largest sellers of energy happen to be in the Global South and among BRICS. So, we’re looking at the rewiring of energy, finance, supply chain, and tech.”

None of this means the dollar is on the verge of collapse. But it could ultimately die the death of a million paper cuts.

While the dollar will likely remain the global reserve currency for the foreseeable future (After all, it is the cleanest dirty shirt in the laundry hamper), it’s clear the world is moving toward a “multipolar” system with several currencies competing and sharing a reserve role. This will necessarily diminish the role of the dollar.

Many analysts believe gold will have an increasingly important role in this multipolar world. After all, it is one of the most liquid monetary assets. It can easily be traded for any currency.

In a report published by Kitco News, Reporter Neils Christensen argued that these geopolitical shifts and the erosion of the dollar make it easy to make a case for gold as a global currency.

“So it’s not just China that is going to have to buy more gold; nations around the world, especially those in emerging markets that have relied so heavily on the U.S. dollar, will have to rebuild their gold reserves.”

ATF Agents Who Killed Clinton Airport Exec Won’t be Charged

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents who killed Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Executive Director Bryan Malinowski in a predawn raid won’t be charged, an Arkansas prosecutor said Friday.

Pulaski County Prosecutor Will Jones said in a letter to ATF that no charges in the shooting would be filed after reviewing the Arkansas State Police investigation of the shooting of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Executive Director Bryan Malinowski.

Malinowski died days after he was shot when ATF agents, who weren’t wearing body cameras, raided his home on March 19 at his home in Little Rock. The ATF said agents returned fire after Malinowski shot at the agents, striking and injuring one of them.

The raid on Malinowski was over what amounted to be a paperwork issue.

An affidavit released after the shooting said Malinowski bought over 150 guns between May 2021 and February 2024 and that he resold many without a dealer’s license. Malinowski would only be required to have an FFL if selling guns were his principal livelihood—though the Biden administration has recently changed that to cover potentially all private gun owners.

For his infraction, the ATF had Malinowski under surveillance for days, installed a GPS tracker on his vehicle, and had undercover ATF agents had made several controlled buys from him at gun shows.

Nevertheless, Jones said the agents had properly identified themselves with police running lights and sirens outdoors before they entered and announced their presence at the front door. Jones wrote that during the raid one of the agents saw another agent fall to the ground, heard a gunshot and saw Malinowski holding a gun.

“Given the totality of the circumstances, Agent 2 had a reasonable belief that deadly force was necessary to defend himself and Agent 1,” Jones wrote. “Therefore, the use of deadly force by Agent 2 was in accordance with Arkansas law and was justified.”

The shooting is now  now under internal review by the ATF.

The Malinowski family has called the ATF’s tactics in the raid “completely unnecessary” as the ATF has stonewalled them from receiving information about its investigation. An attorney for Malinowski’s family has said he was a gun collector and wasn’t aware he was under investigation for his reselling firearms at gun shows.

Bud Cummins, the family’s attorney, on Friday said questions about the raid were “far from over” despite Jones’ decision. Cummins noted that, according to Jones’ letter, ATF agents only waited 28 seconds after knocking on the Malinowski’s door before they began to ram it.

“The state’s investigation didn’t attempt to make independent judgments about whether ATF violated the law when they broke down Mr. and Mrs. Malinowski’s front door,” Cummins said in a statement. “But that question should be a matter of grave concern for the rest of us.”

Malinowski’s death prompted criticism from some Republican lawmakers in Arkansas who have called for more information from the ATF, and the chair of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee in April asked the ATF to provide the panel documents and information about the raid.

“ATF seeks to drastically expand the universe of Americans who would be classified as a ‘dealer’ under federal law requiring them to obtain a license to become a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), subjecting them to a term of imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to $250,000, or both,” Jordan said in April.

“Mr. Malinowski exercised his Second Amendment rights and was a firearms enthusiast. Even if, as ATF has alleged, Mr. Malinowski violated federal law, it does not justify ATF’s actions that ultimately lead to the use of deadly force.”

Did the FBI Hire a Heroin Junkie?

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) FBI Director Christopher Wray has repeatedly said that recruiting at the bureau is at an all-time high.

According to former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin, one of the bureau’s new hires is a recovering junkie.

“New @FBI Agent assigned to @FBIWFO is a recovering HEROIN addict. (1811 series armed federal agent) per sources in the agency,” he said Friday on Twitter.

“Washington Field has previous had issues with an Agent stealing HEROIN from the evidence locker under OTHER Agents’ names… resulting in compromised convictions and prosecutions for all cases the criminal federal agent touched,” he added.

According to Seraphin, the FBI applied the “marijuana standard,” which requires someone to not have used cannabis within a year of applying to the bureau, to heroin—meaning that the new hire has apparently been clean for at least a year.

The FBI has not responded to a Headline USA media inquiry about Seraphin’s latest allegation. The ex-FBI agent has blown the whistle on a number of internal bureau scandals since he was suspended in 2022 and fired last April after refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

In February 2023, Seraphin divulged documents about the FBI spying on “radical-traditionalist Catholics.” Headline USA revealed in April that the FBI’s anti-Catholic operation began with an investigation into a schizophrenic man.

Seraphin also broke news last August that the FBI promoted a dog killer to Assistant Director of the Training Division. The agent, Jacqueline Maguire, the FBI’s former special agent in charge of its Philadelphia office, shot and killed a dog while she was off-duty on a busy downtown street in February 2023.

And earlier this year, he revealed that the FBI confiscated the cell phone from members of the white-nationalist group Patriot Front after state law enforcement arrested them.

According to Seraphin, the FBI’s search warrant was highly dubious. He said FBI officials wanted to search the phones, but initially the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent in Idaho refused to write a search warrant for the phones because a federal crime hadn’t been committed.

According to Seraphin, FBI Headquarters removed the SSRA—the Idaho Tribune identified him as Special Agent Zach Schoffstall—from his position. Seraphin said Schoffstall was fired from the bureau.

WATCH: PhD Physicist Just Now Learns of Fine-People Hoax

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) It’s known in conservative circles as the “fine people hoax”—the unequivocally false notion that then-President Donald Trump called neo-Nazis and white nationalists “fine people” in the wake of the deadly 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right rally.

As Trump’s supporters have known for the better part of a decade, Trump in fact said the opposite.

“You had people there to protest the taking down of a very important statute and the renaming of a park to Robert E. Lee. You had people—and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis or white nationalists, because they should be condemned—but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists,” Trump said at the time.

“And the press has treated them absolutely terribly.”

However, apparently there are still wide swaths of the public who believe in the fine people hoax, showing just how deep Trump Derangement Syndrome runs.

“Remember Charlottesville when Trump called neo-Nazis very fine people? I only saw the full clip for the first time today It’s a must watch — he literally CONDEMNS the Neo Nazis and white nationalists,” Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire said in a Twitter post that went viral.

Maguire’s admission drew mixed reactions. Some Twitter users wondered how Maguire didn’t know the obvious truth, but others said they were hearing the real story for the first time.

While some are still waking up to the fine people hoax, most are still in the dark that many of the neo-Nazis and white nationalists at Charlottesville were, in fact, FBI informants—a fact exposed by Headline USA last September.

Indeed, as this publication detailed, the National Socialist Movement, which participated and committed violence in the 2017 Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally, was founded by an FBI informant and has had informants in high positions throughout its history.

Court records further show that the NSM was part of a larger neo-Nazi coalition called the Nationalist Front, an alliance comprising a number of other groups at Charlottesville that were infiltrated by the FBI, including the League of the South.

Moreover, a fourth member of the FBI-linked Nationalist Front, the now-defunct Vanguard America, was seen marching with James Fields—the man who killed counterprotester Heather Heyer with his car.

Vanguard America has since mutated into yet another group widely believed to be infiltrated by the FBI: the Patriot Front.
