Biden-Kamala Keeping Bannon Past Release Date under First Step Act

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Steve Bannon affirmed on Friday that the Biden-Harris-led Bureau of Prisons is refusing his release under the First Step Act, despite his presumed eligibility.

Bannon is currently in federal custody serving a four-month sentence on two counts of contempt of Congress after asserting executive privilege to counter a subpoena from the partisan House Select Jan. 6 committee.

Bannon, a former chief advisor in the Trump White House, told the National Pulse that he qualifies for early release under the First Step Act, signed into law by former President Trump. Bannon also scolded Vice President Kamala Harris in the statement.

“Kamala Harris is the ‘Queen of Mass Incarcerations,’ detested by black and hispanic [sic] men who are refusing to turn out and vote for her,” Bannon wrote. “She has done nothing to implement President Trump’s heroic First Step Act, in fact welcoming hundreds of thousands of hardened illegal migrant criminals while allowing US citizens eligible for early release to rot in prison. No mass deportations, but continual mass incarcerations.”

As reported by the Pulse, Bannon sought to have his bail reimposed or to receive supervised release in a motion filed on Aug. 29, 2024. This request has remained pending for over 75 days.

“The Court should grant Mr. Bannon’s motion for bail pending completion of Supreme Court review, and order the Bureau of Prisons to release Mr. Bannon immediately,” Bannon’s attorneys told the outlet.

In the same statement, Bannon asserted that Harris will not be elected president in November.

He added, “Harris will lose this election on her inability to get black and hispanic men to vote for her in Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. The four years she did nothing for family reunification of American citizen prisoners while genuflecting to illegal alien criminals is coming back to bite her.”

Bannon concluded, “The Harris Bureau of Prisons is illegally holding me past my legal release date–trying to eliminate one of President Trump’s strongest advocates–these criminals reek of desperation.”

Bannon is set to be released on Oct. 29, according to his podcast co-host Natalie Winters.

Veteran Kicked Off Delta Flight for Shirt Highlighting Veteran Suicide Awareness

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Marine Corps veteran was booted out of a Delta flight and ordered to change clothes after a flight attendant claimed her shirt was “threatening,” NBC affiliate KNTV reported on Friday.

The so-called “threatening” shirt featured a message highlighting the issue of veteran suicide, which affects many military personnel after their years of service.

Catherine Banks, who served 22 years in the Marine Corps, was en route to visit her Marine sister when a Delta flight attendant suddenly stopped her.

The reason? Her shirt, which read, “Do Not Give In To The War Within End Veteran Suicide,” was deemed an issue.

“‘You need to get off the plane,’” a tearful Banks recalled being told. “I was like, ‘What did I do?’”

After being escorted off the plane, the male attendant told her that the shirt she was wearing was “threatening.”

“I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Banks recounted. She explained to the attendant that she was a Marine Corps veteran.

“I’m going to see my Marine sister. I’ve been in the Marine Corps for 22 years and worked for the Air Force for 15 years. I’m going to visit her,” she told the outlet.

The flight attendant, in a seemingly dismissive tone, responded that he didn’t “care” about her or her sister’s service.

“The only way you’re going to get back on the plane is if you take it off right now,” the man ordered her.

A powerless Banks agreed to change her shirt, asking the attendant to turn around as she wasn’t wearing a bra.

The incident caused a delay in the flight, cost her an extra legroom seat and forced her to sit in the back.

In her remarks to KNTV, Banks said the incident left her feeling dehumanized.

“I feel like they just took my soul away,” she said. “I’m not a bad person, and that T-shirt, I should be allowed to support myself and veterans.”

In remarks to Headline USA, a Delta spokesperson claimed that the issue had been “resolved.” However, the spokesperson refused to say whether there was an ongoing investigation or if the flight attendant had been suspended.

“We appreciate her patience as we continue to work to understand what occurred during this event. Most importantly, we are thankful for her service to our country,” the spokesperson said.

The shirt appeared to be part of the Til Valhalla Project Apparel Co., a company that fundraises for memorials of lost veterans to suicide and has paid for over 10,000 hours of therapy.

“To hear someone was mistreated for wearing our gear that helps pay for the memorials delivered to families of fallen heroes and therapy for veterans, is appalling,” the company wrote on Facebook.

It added, “Miss Banks, THANK YOU for not only your service but for your support in our mission. You deserved better! Be on the lookout for an email from us because I’m covering your flight, and another flight if you want to come see what we do personally.”

Trump Endorsed by Undertaker, Kane and ‘Hitman’ Hearns

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Donald Trump received endorsements from wrestling icons The Undertaker and Kane, and boxing Hall of Famer Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns, just weeks before the November presidential election.

The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark Callaway, and Kane, whose name is Glenn Jacobs, appeared alongside Trump in a conference room at Trump Tower, where they explained their rationale for supporting him. Meanwhile, Hearns joined Trump on stage at a Detroit rally.

“All right everyone. November 5th—ElectionMania. The choice is yours. You can go with President Trump, Kane and The Undertaker or you can take Kamala Harris, Dave Bautista and Tim Walz,” Callaway said in a video posted on Trump’s TikTok page. “Choose wisely—the nation depends on it.”

The video, which has garnered over 10.1 million views, showed Trump chiming in on the endorsement: “It should be an easy choice.”

Jacobs, currently the mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, did not speak in the video but shared a photo with Trump on X.

“It was great seeing @realDonaldTrump today! In 18 days, we’re going to Make America Great Again! Please do your part and vote Trump/Vance!” he wrote, accumulating over 1.3 million views.

Both Callaway and Jacobs are members of the WWE Hall of Fame.

On Friday, Hearns joined Trump at a massive rally in Detroit, Michigan, the boxer’s hometown.

“I won so much money betting on this guy. … Some of the greatest fights in history,” Trump said of Hearns. “One of the greatest fights of all time, and man, I’ll tell you what, he was something special.”

A stunned Hearns took the stage with Trump and later said, “Hearing those nice words coming from you, man, this can’t be real. … Hearing it come from you, I’m very excited. I want to fight now.”

As reported by Fox News, Hearns boxed professionally from 1997 to 2006 and was introduced to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2011.

FCC Commissioner Seeks CBS Probe Over Distorted Interview w/ Kamala

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Republican-appointed member of the Federal Communications Commission demanded the chairwoman respond to a damning complaint against WCBS-TV, a CBS-owned network, over its edited interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

In comments to the Daily Caller, FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington suggested that the complaint, filed by the Center for American Rights (CAR), raises questions about intentional distortion regarding Harris’s Oct. 6 interview on 60 Minutes.

“The FCC does not regulate, or really even respond to, allegations of politically unfavorable coverage or legitimate editorial discretion,” Simington said, according to a Caller article published Friday.

He added, “The recent complaint regarding WCBS-TV raises a fully different set of issues regarding whether or not coverage was intentionally distorted: reporting that something was said in response to a question that literally was not. I don’t know whether that’s true, but it’s a different issue.”

CAR filed the complaint after 60 Minutes released Harris’s comments about Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu allegedly ignoring U.S. recommendations about the ongoing war with Hamas.

In the sneak peek, Harris responded, “Well, Bill, our work has resulted in several movements in that region by Israel, prompted by many factors, including our advocacy for necessary actions.”

However, CBS did not air these remarks in the full broadcast.

Instead, it showed Harris claiming, “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”

CAR rebuked the editing and demanded CBS release the full transcript.

“CBS crosses a line when its production reaches the point of so transforming an interviewee’s answer that it is a fundamentally different answer. This, CBS may not do,” the organization wrote in its FCC complaint.

“Here, CBS has taken a single question and transformed Harris’ answer such the general public no longer has any confidence as to what the Vice President actually said in response to the query,” CAR added.

Gina Carano Continues Legal Fight Against Far-Left Disney

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A former Hollywood actress, Gina Carano, had some good news to share.

The Post Millennial reported that a California judge has denied Disney’s motion to appeal a July decision regarding Carano’s wrongful termination suit to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and has paused discovery while the appeal occurred.

The recent decision came after Disney fired Carano for opposing the far-left status quo, which resulted in her being blacklisted by the entire Hollywood.

“After the Judge DENIED Disney’s request to DISMISS my case, Disney requested permission to immediately appeal that decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and delay all discovery while that appeal takes place. Yesterday, October 16th, 2024, we learned that the Judge DENIED Disney’s unusual request,” Carano wrote on Twitter.

Carano added that she is “obviously very pleased with the opportunity to keep moving forward with the judicial process and into discovery.”

“While I wish this was not necessary as it is not my desire to be in this battle in court. I will not shrink away from it because it is hard or uncomfortable,” she wrote, thanking those who have supported her before in this legal fight, including her lawyers and Elon Musk.

People on Twitter quickly responded to the positive news in the comments section under the post.

“Almost makes you wonder what they’re so desperate to hide,” Critical Drinker, a well-known movie critic, said.

Some people, like Nerdrotic, a popular YouTuber, suggested that Carano should “take them to the woodshed.”

Others told Carano that she should never give up in the fight against the woke corporation.

“Never back down. Keep fighting the good fight,” conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong wrote.

Some people acknowledged that Carano is fighting not just for herself but for everybody who was wronged by the leftist system, in general, and Disney, in particular, and thanked her for doing that.

“You got this, Gina. [You] represent every person who was wronged by their employer for supporting a president. Thank you for fighting for all of us,” @TaraBull808 wrote.

GOP Sues Detroit for Alleged FOIA, Deleting Ballot Drop Box Video Footage

(The Republican National Committee has filed another lawsuit against the City of Detroit Department of Elections, this time for deleting absentee ballot drop box video surveillance from the August primaries while a FOIA request for the footage was pending.

“Deleting drop box surveillance footage while there is a pending FOIA request for it is an assault on transparency,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said. “This breach of trust is exactly what reduces confidence in our elections. We will hold Detroit accountable, as this secrecy has no place in a fair and secure election–Michiganders deserve far better.”

According to local and state laws, drop box video surveillance records must be stored for 30 days after the record is created, and ballot drop box logs and security records must be kept for two years after the election is held.

On Aug. 21, the RNC filed a FOIA request for surveillance footage from Aug. 7 and 8 of an absent voter ballot drop box on Wayne Community College campus, plus records detailing when the drop box was installed and other security measures.

The city immediately requested 10 extra days to produce the footage, promising to issue a response by Sept. 12. On Sept. 16, the city issued an electronic response to the FOIA request, notifying the plaintiffs that the requested video footage was no longer available since 30 days had passed since the August primary elections.

“The Department of Elections has violated the FOIA by deleting the video surveillance records…after receiving the Request well before the date on which the Department of Elections was legally permitted to destroy the records,” the lawsuit reads, adding the department also “acted arbitrarily and capriciously” by delaying to address the RNC’s request for 26 days.

The Michigan Court of Claims has ruled in multiple cases that “a public body cannot avoid disclosure of a record by destroying that record after it receives a FOIA request,” because “If public bodies were free to dispose of requested records during this time, a claimant’s right to disclosure under FOIA would not be adequately safeguarded.”

Since the footage has been taped over and cannot be retrieved, the lawsuit requests monetary and injunctive relief.

U.S. House Investigating Nonworking Border Patrol Surveillance Cameras

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) The U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green, R-TN, is demanding answers from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about a claim that nearly one-third of surveillance cameras Border Patrol agents use at the southwest border aren’t working.

NBC News reported that roughly 150 out of 500 cameras positioned on surveillance towers along the southwest border aren’t working, citing an internal memo it obtained. The cameras don’t work due to “several technical problems” and “the nationwide issue is having significant impacts on [Border Patrol] operations,” the memo reportedly states.

The cameras are part of Border Patrol’s Remote Video Surveillance Systems, which has been operational since 2011. There are over 150 outstanding camera repair requests, according to the report.

The RVSS’s stated purpose is “to provide remote video surveillance systems, consisting of day and night cameras with remote pointing control from a Border Patrol station. These systems enable the Border Patrol to survey large areas without having to commit hundreds of agents in vehicles to perform the same function, thus improving the safety of agents as they detect, identify, and classify incursions at the border and resolve the incursions with the appropriate level of response,” according to a 2012 DHS assessment.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has installed roughly 300 new towers using more advanced technology, CBP says. Over the last few years, billions of dollars have been poured into several surveillance systems.

In 2020, CBP announced it launched a new renewable energy-fueled Autonomous Surveillance Towers system that became “a Program of Record” for U.S. Border Patrol.

In December 2022, CBP announced its plan to acquire 296 new surveillance towers to use along the northern and southwest borders, upgrading an estimated 191 towers with new surveillance equipment.

In September 2023, $1.8 billion was awarded to General Dynamics Information Technology, one of three companies working with CBP to modernize and expand CBP surveillance tower systems. GDIT says it’s “been the prime contractor on the CBP Remote Video Surveillance System Upgrade (RVSS-U) program” and designed and deployed more than 170 fixed and relocatable towers sites.

The House Homeland Security Committee claims its staff spoke to DHS sources “who flagged multiple pressing concerns regarding” the RVSS, noting that Border Patrol agents rely on more than 200 RVSS towers to conduct surveillance.

The committee also points to an interagency memorandum of understanding between CBP and the Federal Aviation Administration, claiming the FAA is responsible for maintaining the RVSS cameras. Citing a single source, the committee claims in a statement that a CBP review of RVSS operational capabilities found that dozens of contractors working on the cameras weren’t cleared to work on them. Additionally, the source claims, “CBP was unable to verify that several workers, in particular, were even U.S. citizens.”

In response, Green requested DHS to provide information and records related to the RVSS.

“Disturbingly, multiple sources revealed to the Committee last week that more than 66 percent of the cameras in the remote video surveillance systems upgrade program are inoperable,” Green wrote in a letter to Mayorkas. “According to these sources, some of the busiest Southwest border sectors have nearly 50 or more cameras offline with multiple towers that have been out of service for more than a year. Committee sources also divulged that the Federal Aviation Administration, the vendor responsible for the repair of these cameras, contracts to companies employing non-U.S. citizens who may be physically manipulating the equipment on the camera towers.”

“Employment of such individuals appears to violate the CBP’s Information Systems Security Policies and Procedures Handbook, which states that ‘CBP policy requires that only Government and contractor personnel who are U.S. citizens shall be granted access to CBP systems processing sensitive information,’” Green said.

Green gave Mayorkas a deadline of Oct. 23 to provide the requested documents.

China Infiltrated U.S. under Biden-Harris Watch, Reports Find

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Multiple news sources revealed that the Biden–Harris administration allowed communist China to grow its influence inside the country, influence the 2024 election and spy on the American government and people.

The Epoch Times reported that China is deploying thousands of fake social media profiles to interfere in the upcoming election, among which was the Harlan Report that was portraying Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as a “fraud.”

“It’s no surprise the CCP is now using fraudulent social media accounts to target our upcoming elections,” Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Mich., told the Times. “We encourage social media companies to expose the CCP’s propaganda campaign and take action against CCP bots that are trying to deceive Americans.”

The Daily Caller also wrote in its exclusive report that espionage, illegal immigration and other activities that are meant to destroy the United States linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have increased dramatically under the Biden-Harris administration.

The news source cited “China Threat Snapshot” as evidence. The House Committee on Homeland Security’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement and Intelligence released the report on Thursday.

The government report detailed 59 “CCP-related” criminal cases, like bribery, hacking and theft of trade secrets, in 20 U.S. states between February 2021 and August 2024.

“The Chinese Communist Party is not satisfied with destroying freedom and repressing its citizens within its own borders,” Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, told the Caller. “Beijing has continually encroached upon American sovereignty to spy, intimidate and harass not only defectors but even American citizens.”

According to the government report, approximately 80% of economic espionage prosecutions are connected to China. About 60% of all trade secret theft cases were also connected to the communist regime.

The Caller also reported how the Biden-Harris administration drastically simplified the vetting process for Chinese illegal aliens last year so that they would be able to flood this country.

“Unfortunately, under the Biden administration, Border Patrol agents have been instructed that when processing Chinese nationals, they should conduct short, basic interviews that include only generic background questions instead of in-depth interviews. In other words, there is no serious vetting,” Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., said.

The committee also wrote about the same problem in its press release.

“The Biden-Harris administration has overseen the largest influx of Chinese nationals illegally crossing the Southwest border than any previous administration,” the committee stated. “In FY24 alone, Border Patrol agents have recorded more than 36,000 apprehensions of Chinese nationals—more than all those recorded from FY07-20 combined. In March, the Committee released a “Startling Stats” fact sheet documenting the dramatic increase.”

Feds End 2024 with $1.8 Trillion Deficit; National Debt Nears $36 Trillion

(Brett Rowland, The Center Square) The federal government spent $1.8 trillion more than it collected in tax revenue in fiscal year 2024, according to figures released Friday by U.S. Treasury Department.

Congress has run a deficit every year since 2001. In the past 50 years, the federal government has ended with a fiscal year-end budget surplus four times, most recently in 2001.

The deficit for fiscal 2024 was $1.8 trillion, or $138 billion higher than the prior year’s deficit. As a percentage of GDP, the deficit was 6.4%, an increase from 6.2% in fiscal 2023. The 2024 deficit is $196 billion lower than in 2023, excluding the effect of the Supreme Court’s 2023 decision in Biden v. Nebraska regarding student loan programs, according to year-end data from the September 2024 Monthly Treasury Statement of Receipts and Outlays of the United States Government.

The fiscal year 2024 deficit was $76 billion below the baseline estimate of $1.91 trillion in the 2024 budget published in March, and $144 billion lower than the baseline estimate of $1.98 trillion in the Mid-Session Review, a supplemental update to the budget published in July.

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, said that is equal to borrowing about $5 billion a day, adding daily to the nation’s $35.76 trillion debt.

“We’re borrowing nearly double the amount we borrowed annually before the pandemic, and this is projected to grow indefinitely,” she said. “This is no way to run a country. In fact, the way we have been running the country is we don’t pass budgets; we don’t pay for new policies; we don’t address our major entitlement programs, which are facing insolvency; and we tolerate the two major presidential candidates competing over who can promise to give away more.”

Both leading major party presidential candidates – Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump – have proposed spending and taxation programs that would add to the federal deficit.

The Committee for A Responsible Federal Budget, a nonprofit group, estimates that both Harris’ plan and Trump’s plan would increase the debt. The group estimated that Trump’s plan would cost more than double Harris’ plan. It also noted areas of marked uncertainty in both candidates’ plans. Harris’ plan would increase the debt by $3.50 trillion through 2035, while Trump’s plan would increase the debt by $7.50 trillion, according to the Committee for A Responsible Federal Budget’s analysis.

In fiscal year 2024, the U.S. government spent nearly $900 billion on interest on the debt alone.

“That’s more than we spent on national defense, Medicare, and children at the federal level – just a truly astounding figure,” MacGuineas said. “The national debt is on track to reach a record share of the economy in just two years, a sobering milestone for both the next Congress and whoever wins the presidency in November.”

The next president will take over the nation’s $35.2 trillion in debt.

Congress has continued to spend money it doesn’t have despite warnings.

Earlier this month, credit-rating agency Moody’s sounded the alarm.

“The incoming administration will face a deteriorating U.S. fiscal outlook, as declining debt affordability will gradually weaken U.S. fiscal strength,” Moody’s warned in a recent report. “In the absence of policy measures that can curb these trends and help limit fiscal deficits, deteriorating fiscal strength will increasingly weigh on the U.S. sovereign credit profile.”

Neither presidential candidate has outlined specific plans to address the national debt before the Nov. 5 presidential election.

In March, the Congressional Budget Office projected the deficit would reach 8.5% of gross domestic product by 2054.

The International Monetary Fund warned in May that U.S. government spending and increasing national debt were not sustainable and could hurt the global economy.

In February, a Congressional watchdog told President Joe Biden and Congress that the federal government was on an “unsustainable long-term fiscal path.”

Moody’s projected growing deficits without significant changes.

“We expect the federal government to run large fiscal deficits that average around 7% of GDP per year over the next five years and rise to nearly 9% by 2034, which would drive the debt burden to around 130% of GDP by 2034 from 97% in 2023,” the report noted.

The cost of servicing that debt will also grow.

“We expect federal interest payments relative to revenue and GDP to double to around 30% and 5% by 2034, respectively, from 14.8% and 2.4% in 2023,” according to the report.

Congress and the next president will start 2025 facing two key financial challenges: the reinstatement of the debt limit, the end of discretionary spending caps, and the expiration of large parts of the tax code set in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“We need to put our national debt on a downward sustainable trajectory,” MacGuineas said. “Failure to do so will result in a smaller economy, higher interest rates, increased geopolitical threats, generational inequity, and a higher likelihood of a fiscal crisis.”

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen praised the Biden administration for its budget work.

“The Biden-Harris Administration remains focused on our economy’s long-term growth, which includes sustaining historic investments in infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy while also addressing our long-term fiscal outlook,” she said in a statement. “The Budget put forward by President Biden reduces the deficit by $3 trillion by asking corporations and the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share, while preserving our important investments in our country’s future.”

‘Queen of Cringe’: Kamala’s Pre-Recorded Skit for Al Smith Dinner Falls Flat

(Chris Cella Jr., Headline USA) Call her the queen of cringe.

Kamala Harris made headlines after skipping the annual Al Smith Dinner, reportedly marking the first time in 40 years that a presidential candidate has not attended the Catholic charity event. Instead, she submitted a pre-recorded video that drew criticism for its feeble attempt at humor and for mocking Catholicism.

The video featured former Saturday Night Live cast member Molly Shannon, who delivered a comedic skit that mocked the Catholic Church. In the sketch, Shannon claimed Jesus would fact-check the event, likening the dinner’s importance to that of the Last Supper.

Harris chimed in, suggesting that insulting Catholics at the dinner would be like “criticizing Detroit in Detroit,” referencing former President Donald Trump’s recent comments about a potential Democratic victory in November warning, “the whole country will end up being like Detroit,” while speaking at the Detroit Economic Club.

During the skit, Harris asked Shannon if there was anything she shouldn’t mention. Shannon replied, “Don’t lie. Thou shall not bear false witness to thy neighbor,” poking fun at tenants of the Catholic religion. Harris responded, “Indeed. Especially thy neighbor’s election results,” making a thinly veiled jab at Trump’s claims about the 2020 election.

The audience appeared uncomfortable throughout the performance, with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer visibly cringing at the lengthy skit. The most bizarre moment came when Shannon exclaimed, “We need a woman to represent us! A woman brings more heart, more compassion…in a field dominated by men! It’s time for a woman bro!” Scant applause and awkward silence followed the painfully awkward video.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan commented on the audience’s reaction, equating the skit to embarrassing moments in parenting. He noted, “I don’t even know what that noise [the audience] is making.”

Harris has faced criticism for her shifting accents and public persona, drawing the ire of analysts. Sky News Australia’s Emily Wilson labeled her the “epitome of cringe,” while former Trump advisor Stephen Miller mocked her changing accent on X, stating, “This is her seventh new accent in four weeks.”

Trump also criticized Harris for skipping the dinner, calling it “disrespectful to Catholics.” He also quipped, “There’s a group called White Dudes for Harris, but I’m not worried about them. Their wives and their wives’ lovers are voting for me.”

Harris’s campaign team defended her absence, stating she would focus on campaigning in key battleground states in the weeks leading up to Election Day. By forgoing the dinner, Harris became the first presidential candidate since Walter Mondale in 1984 to miss the event, which has historically sought to promote bipartisan unity and fun roastings while supporting the Catholic Church.

The Al Smith Dinner is known for its light-hearted humor and camaraderie among political rivals. Harris’s decision to skip the event and submit a pre-recorded video has sparked debate about her unconventional approach to campaigning, interviews, and public engagement as the election approaches.
