‘Maybe she wishes Obama were still here to bow before the Ayatollah…’
(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., wrote in a tweet that she is “outraged” by the U.S. military’s killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani as she downplayed his role as the leader of a terrorist organization that has slaughtered hundreds of Americans.
Omar called Soleimani, who led Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, a “foreign official,” even though the U.S. government considers the Quds Force a terrorist organization, Yellowhammer News reported.
“We are outraged the president would assassinate a foreign official, possibly setting off another war without Congressional authorization and has zero plan to deal with the consequences,” Omar said, without evidence. “So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction? Real question is, will those with congressional authority step in and stop him? I know I will.”
Following Omar’s comments, Rep. Bradley Byrne, R-Ala., questioned the Muslim Representative’s allegiance to the United States.
“Ilhan Omar diminished 9/11, opposes Israel, and now she is upset that President Trump took out a murderous terrorist – at this point we have to wonder what side is she on?” Byrne said, referring to Omar’s description of 9/11 as “some people who did something” and her opposition to the U.S.-Israel alliance.
“Maybe she wishes Obama were still here to bow before the Ayatollah, but here in America we serve the Constitution of the U.S. first and swear in front of God to defend this country and its people,” Byrne said. “And that’s exactly what President Trump is doing.”
