Noem Mandates Double-Cheeseburgers as Scientists Warn of Vegan ‘Zealotry’

'In fact, removing fresh meat and dairy from diets would harm human health... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has designated the moth of May as “Beef Month,” as religious vegan zealots try to force their lifestyle onto the rest of the country.

Noem made the announcement in a recent video.

“We just signed a proclamation declaring that in the state of South Dakota, May is going to be beef month. We’re going to focus on promoting the agriculture industry,” particularly those who raise cows, Noem said.

Noem’s “Beef month” comes amidst the release of a new study detailing the problems of veganism.

Thousands of scientists worldwide signed onto the “Dublin Declaration,” claiming that meat is too essential a part of the human diet to fall prey to vegan and climate change hysteria.

“Livestock-derived foods provide a variety of essential nutrients and other health-promoting compounds, many of which are lacking in diets even among those populations with higher incomes,” the declaration stated.

The scientists also noted that, while veganism may be a suitable diet for wealthy elites, the average person cannot afford the trendy lifestyle choice.

“Well-resourced individuals may be able to achieve adequate diets while heavily restricting meat, dairy and eggs. However, this approach should not be recommended for general populations,” they advised.

According to Dr. Alice Stanton, of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the conclusion that the “consumption of even tiny amounts of red meat harms health” is “fatally scientifically flawed.”

Excising meat from one’s diet, she argued, would be particularly harmful to those who are in greater need of nutrients.

“In fact, removing fresh meat and dairy from diets would harm human health. Women, children, the elderly and low income would be particularly negatively impacted,” Stanton, one of the review’s authors, added.

In the spirit of the new declaration, Noem joked that she would require every South Dakota citizen to eat a double cheeseburger each day for a month.

“It is mandatory that in the state of South Dakota everybody has to eat a double cheeseburger every day for the month of May,” she said.
