(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) An illegal immigrant was arrested Tuesday after reportedly confessing to the rape of a 10-year-old girl in a case that drew national attention after President Joe Biden referenced the victim allegedly having to flee Ohio to receive an abortion.
Police arrested Gershon Fuentes, 27, of Columbus, Ohio, who was charged with felony rape of a minor, which carries a potential life sentence in the state, reported the Columbus Dispatch.
Fuentes, who reportedly confessed to twice raping the 10-year-old girl, was held on a $2 million bond because he was suspected to be in the country illegally and questions remained about is identity.
The tragic case was originally met with skepticism, after Biden used it to justify his recent executive decree on abortion. Biden told the nation that Ohio’s new post-Dobbs law had forced a 10-year-old rape victim to travel to Indiana to receive an abortion.
After questions were raised about the story’s veracity, which relied on a single-source who was an abortion doctor and outspoken activist, the White House refused to confirm its validity. The apparent lack of any official reports referencing the case also clouded the issue.
Now that a suspect has been arrested, the case is raising even more questions and concerns.

The fact that a 10-year-old girl who was raped by an illegal immigrant and was turned into “a political pawn” by abortion activists who are “now gloating [because] it turned out to be real just shows how evil these people are,” tweeted Greg Price, senior digital guru with X Strategies.
Now that the case has served its purpose as pro-abortion propaganda, some media analysts contended, activist Democrats and a leftist mainstream media will likely drop the story and either ignore or actively suppress the sobering reality and inconvenient fact that the rapist was an illegal immigrant.

“Just as they do with stories about dozens shot every weekend in gun-controlled Democrat cities, they will try to bury this inconvenient fact,” wrote Liberty Daily editor J.D. Rucker.
“They want the narrative to be all about abortion, but if we enforced our immigration laws and stopped allowing illegal aliens to stay in the country, this 10-year-old girl would never have had to have an abortion because she wouldn’t have been raped.”
