Jeopardy Host Dubbed ‘Misogynist Bigot’ after Letting Man Correct Answer, But Not Woman

'Ken Jennings is a misogynist bigot. Always has been...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) “Jeopardy” co-host Ken Jennings faced extreme criticism from fans of the show after they felt he unfairly gave a male competitor a chance to answer over a female one.

According to The Daily Wire, incumbent champion Luigi de Guzman was competing against fellow contestant and retired lawyer, Harriet Wager, when Guzman was asked to identify a “19th-century landscape by [a] British Painter.”

de Guzman responded, “Constant,” to which Jennings prompted “Say it again,” giving him an opportunity to correct his answer.

It is unclear if Jennings allowed him to correct his answer or if he simply did not hear de Guzman.

Either way, de Guzman immediately corrected himself, giving the answer “Constable” instead.

Later in the show, an answer given by the board was “Mythcon 19 in 1988 had as a guest of honor this ‘Always Coming Home’ fantasy author and was held in Berkeley, her birthplace.”

“Who is Angela LeGuin,” Wagner answered. Jennings immediately reacted, beginning his ruling, before Wagner had the opportunity to correct herself “Ursula LeGuin.”

After de Guzman gave the correct answer, Jennings explained to Wagner that he had already begun his ruling so the point was moot.

“Yes, Harriet, you remembered that her name was Ursula but I had already begun ruling against you when you corrected yourself,” he said.

According to official Jeopardy rules, contestants may only change their responses “as long as neither the host nor the judges have made a ruling.”

Needless to say, this invoked the wrath of leftists fans, with one even calling Jennings a “misogynist bigot.”
