‘I Make Love to Men Daily’: NY Post Confirms Obama’s Letter to Ex-Partner

'You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Former President Barack Obama’s private musings have come to light through a recently surfaced letter, written in 1982, in which he allegedly admitted to making “love” to men, reported the New York Post on Saturday.

The redacted portion of the letter, confirmed by the Post, reveals insights into the young Obama’s mind and how he grappled with notions of identity and desire.

The report by Jon Levine, a journalist with the Post, unveils the contents of the decades-old letter. According to Levine’s article, “Former President Barack Obama wrote of his own ‘androgynous’ mind and ‘mak[ing] love to men daily, but in the imagination,’ according to the redacted portion of a now-notorious 1982 letter, obtained by The Post.”

The letter, written when Obama was 21 years old, was addressed to his ex-girlfriend Alex McNear. In the letter, Obama explores his thoughts on homosexuality.

The quoted passage from the letter reads, “In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination.”

Obama further delves into the alleged complexities of his identity and sexuality. “My mind is androgynous to a great extent and I hope to make it more so until I can think in terms of people, not women as opposed to men. But, in returning to the body, I see that I have been made a man, and physically in life, I choose to accept that contingency,” he added.

The letter first resurfaced after the announcement of the book Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama written by Obama biographer David Garrow. In the book, Garrow reportedly included the redacted portions of the letter.

According to the Post, the infamous letter is housed by Emory University, which has prohibited journalists from moving or photographing it.

Garrow defended the inclusion of the letter in his book, telling the Post, “I’m a historian, not a psychologist, but I think it’s ‘public record’ news that a (vast?) majority of human beings have sexual fantasies!”
