(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Fox News has named Shannon Bream as new permanent host for its Fox News Sunday morning segment, the network reported.
The media giant ran a headline after naming Bream the host, noting that she would be “the first woman to anchor [the] program in its 26-year history.”
Bream will replace Chris Wallace, the much-maligned left-leaning media scion who left the network last December for what he percieved to be greener pastures at CNN.
Wallace has had difficulty securing an audience at CNN since his departure, and has been shuffled around on multiple occasions.
At one point, it was even revealed that Wallace was having “daily meltdowns” as the fledgling streaming service CNN+, which he was poised to take a lead role in developing, got yanked shortly after its launch.
Bream’s new role will begin in an official capacity on Sept. 11.
According to Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, Bream has earned the spot, and also the trust of the network’s mostly conservative viewers.
“Shannon is an outstanding journalist, reporter and anchor who has cultivated a strong and enduring relationship with the FOX News Media audience,” Scott said.
Bream, who has been the network’s longtime top legal correspondent, thanked the network for the promotion.
“It has been an honor to cover major news throughout Washington over the last 15 years at FOX News,” she said. “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to host a Sunday show and look forward to this new role.”
The new anchor has authored a number of pro-Christian self-help books, published with the aid of Fox and making the New York Times bestseller list in back-to-back years.
Her first book, which was released in March 2021, was called The Women of the Bible Speak.
She followed up that book with the 2022 release of The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak.”
