(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) After a month of tacitly encouraging violent abortion riots with its inaction, the FBI finally decided to investigate the string of attacks against pro-life pregnancy centers across America, the Federalist reported.
“The FBI is investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country,” the FBI bureau’s National Press Office wrote Thursday, updating an earlier statement that it had “no comment on any specific incidents.”
The top law-enforcement agency, and its overseer, Attorney General Merrick Garland, have been sharply criticized for what appears to be a two-tiered standard of justice, targeting right-wing political dissidents for thought crimes while turning a blind eye to the Left’s brazen and egregious affronts to the law.
Dozens of pro-life resource centers are believed to have been targeted for vandalism, arson and threats, while left-wing domestic terrorists also have sought to intimidate prominent pro-life advocates and even Supreme Court justices.
Sixteen GOP Senators penned a letter to Garland, insisting that he take a deeper look into the threats of violence as the release of the Supreme Court’s abortion opinion approaches.
“We are deeply concerned that this trend will continue should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade in the coming weeks unless the Department of Justice, the F.B.I., the U.S. Attorneys’ Office take a firm public stance and proactive response against these violent threats,” said the letter.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., also scolded Garland, noting that he ought to resign for his failure to investigate obvious political violence.
“Houses of worship and pro-life pregnancy centers are under attack. The Family Research Council has compiled a list of more than 50 attacks against churches, pro-life pregnancy centers, and other pro-life groups in the past few weeks,” Cotton wrote.
“What is the Department of Justice doing to protect Americans from these violent attacks?” he continued.
Ultimately Cotton called for Garland’s resignation because the attorney general had failed in his most basic duties.
“If you are unwilling to protect Americans from these attacks, you should resign—although, in my opinion, you should resign in any case,” Cotton concluded.
