(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has accused the DOJ of sacrificing Hunter Biden to protect President Joe Biden from allegations of political corruption, bribery, and interference within the DOJ.
In a Saturday interview with the Washington Examiner, Jordan shed light on the ongoing political turmoil surrounding the Biden administration.
“At some point, they were like, ‘Well, we’ve got to do something and let’s do this. Let’s indict him on the gun charge, which has nothing to do with President Biden,'” Jordan exclaimed.
“It’s the one thing that has nothing to do with the whole business operation and the links that seem pretty obvious to most people to the president,” he added.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., appointed Jordan, along with House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., to lead a long-awaited impeachment inquiry into Biden.
Jordan’s accusations resonate with reports that House Democrats are willing to throw Hunter under the bus in a political bid to shield Biden from the growing scandal. Democrats falsely argue that while Hunter is a troubled individual, there is no evidence linking his father to his alleged misdeeds, as reported by Politico on Sept. 13.
“You can’t impeach Hunter Biden,” claimed Oversight Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, D-Md., before adding, “But he will be prosecuted.”
Rep. Stacey E. Plaskett, D-V.I., echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need to claim that Hunter does not represent the entire Biden administration.
The DOJ’s decision to move forward with an indictment against Hunter could result in a federal prison sentence of up to 10 years. This indictment comes after years of investigation, a failed plea deal that raised concerns among prominent Republicans and the appointment of a special counsel, which added fuel to the political fire.
The indictment also follows damning testimony from an IRS whistleblower, whose allegations were later corroborated by his former boss. These revelations have deepened the divide in Congress, with Republicans like Jordan alleging a cover-up, while Democrats seek to protect the President’s reputation, emphasizing that every president has had problematic family members.
