DOJ Accused of Abetting Hunter Biden Cover-Up w/ Corrupted Special Counsel

'The fix is in... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Mounting evidence produced by House Oversight Committee probes into alleged wholesale corruption, bribery schemes and influence peddling perpetrated by President Joe Biden and members of what has become known as Biden Crime Inc. forced Attorney General Merrick Garland into granting “special counsel” status to the prosecutor overseeing the investigation into Hunter Biden.

The decision to give U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who has been overseeing the alleged independent investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged corruption schemes and tax crimes, was greeted by equal parts skepticism, derision and disgust from Republican lawmakers, who have consistently claimed that Weiss was being handled by the Biden DOJ to sidetrack any serious prosecution of the president’s embattled son.

The DOJ proclaimed that Weiss will be using his new “special counsel” super powers to run the “ongoing investigation” into Hunter Biden, “as well as for any other matters that arose or may arise from that investigation.”

“The fix is in,” Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for Make America Great Again Inc., said in a statement Friday after the DOJ made its announcement.

“David Weiss cut Hunter Biden an unprecedented plea deal that attempted to give Joe Biden’s corrupt son blanket immunity,” Leavitt said. “Now, Merrick Garland expects us to trust Weiss to be the Special Counsel that finally brings Hunter Biden to justice. Biden’s Justice Department will do whatever it takes to cover up the Biden Crime Family’s misdeeds.”

Garland claimed that as special counsel, Weis “will not be subject to the day-to-day supervision of any official of the Department, but he must comply with the regulations, procedures, and policies of the Department,” he said in Friday’s announcement.

Weiss was already helming the Hunter investigation when the president’s son received what was widely criticized as a “sweetheart” plea deal for his tax crimes. The judge handling the case last month scuttled the deal, with Hunter Biden subsequently pleading “not guilty” as the trial moves forward.

Rep. James Comer, the Kentucky Republican who chairs the House Oversight Committee, blasted the DOJ for its special counsel ploy and vowed that lawmakers will continue their own probes into Biden Crime Inc.

“This move by AG Garland is part of the Justice Department’s efforts to attempt a Biden family coverup in light of @GOPoversight’s mounting evidence of President Biden’s role in his family’s schemes selling ‘the brand’ for millions of dollars to foreign nationals,” Comer tweeted Friday.

“Let’s be clear what today’s move is really about. The Biden Justice Department is trying to stonewall congressional oversight as we have presented evidence to the American people about the Biden family’s corruption.”
