(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, took a hammer to autocrats and leftists attempts to censor speech that doesn’t comport with the cancel culture cabal’s radicalism.
“It is yet the latest indicator about the real danger that we’re facing as a society right now in this country, is that this fundamental freedom guaranteed to every one of us as Americans, this freedom of speech, is being threatened,” Gabbard told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson in a discussion about efforts to cancel libertarian podcaster Joe Rogan.
“People are being intimidated, their financial security is being threatened. They are being censored or being intimidated into censoring themselves,” said Gabbard who, suspect political bents aside, was spot on with her takedown of woke cancel shaming, personal attacks and calls for punishment.
“This freedom is the fabric of our Constitution, and the fact that this is what we are facing, that the powers that be decide, well, if we don’t like the things that you’re saying then we will find a way to silence you and censor you.
“This is something that every single American should be afraid of because we need to have the confidence in America that we can express ourselves, that we have the freedom to speak without the threat of punishment looming over us,” Gabbard continued.
“That right there is literally the difference between living in a democracy or living in a dictatorship,” she said.
Speaking of dictatorships, Carlson noted the same authoritarian tones coming from White House mouthpiece Jen Psaki and her admonishments to censor Rogan.
“I think that is exactly right and for the White House press secretary to call for censorship from the podium in the White House briefing room is really – I’ve never seen anything like that ever, and I’m 52,” Carlson said.

“They simply hate [Rogan] because he asked obvious questions, or am I missing something,” Carlson concluded.
“You are not missing something,” said Gabbard. “He is somebody who is curious, he encourages dialogue. Of course he’s got his own opinions about things, but he can’t be put in a box and he can’t be controlled.”
Gabbard has made occasional appearances on Rogan’s podcast, it should be noted, and has often been a topic of conversation on different episodes.
“Again, he is one example – unfortunately, he’s not the only example,” Gabbard said, “there are many others who have experienced the brunt of this punishment who are either attempted to be silenced or censored or have been.”
Gabbard spun that line of reasoning into the vacancy facing the Supreme Court, and once again torch President Joe Biden’s promise to nominate a black woman to fill the spot.
“The qualification of a Supreme Court justice, the foremost and most important quality, must be someone who is committed to upholding our Constitution, who is committed to upholding the freedoms we are guaranteed in the Constitution,” Gabbard said. “Freedom of speech, civil liberties, and so on.
“Not being chosen based on their gender, their sex, their race, or even their politics,” she said.
“We need to be looking for a Supreme Court justice who is committed and has a track record of upholding our Constitution. That’s it.”
Who could be against that?
Joe Biden will nominate a black woman for the Supreme Court because he said he would select someone based on race and sex, and then we will be told that noting that this is definitionally affirmative action and race discrimination is itself racist.

Jen Psaki just reaffirmed that the President will only consider a black woman for the next nomination — a threshold gender and race condition that the Court itself has found unconstitutional for schools and unlawful for private businesses. https://t.co/uzc5jInAlg
