(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., was rushed to a Washington, D.C., hospital Wednesday, weeks departed from being sworn into office after a contentious campaign that saw his handlers and mainstream media collaborators insist that the stroke victim’s health was not a concern.
Fetterman’s PR team issued a statement informing that he “began feeling lightheaded” during a Senate Democrat retreat.
“He left and called his staff, who picked him up and drove him to The George Washington University Hospital. Initial tests did not show evidence of a new stroke, but doctors are running more tests and John is remaining overnight for observation,” Fetterman Communications Director Joe Calvello wrote in a terse statement short on details.
Wishes for his good health and recovery plentiful on Twitter, but also accompanied by reminders that Fetterman should have long stepped aside for health issues.
Fetterman suffered a stroke at the outset of his midterm campaign against Republican Mehmet Oz and refused to disclose any detailed medical history or records, save a suspect statement from a friendly doctor.
“He is in good spirits and talking with his staff and family,” Calvello wrote. “We will provide more information when we have it.”
